Villa Madagala is an oasis from the bustle of Galle Town but easy to get to if you wanted to be among crowds. The villa boasts 3 lovely rooms, a living space, dining and kitchen. There is also a lovely front porch with comfortable reclined seating and plunge pool with a courtyard. Perfect for our little baby and young family! We were really happy with the service from the villa host, Eranga, who eensured all our needs were met whilst also liasing with the booking manager on our meal requirements where we had a private chef on request. It was such a lovely place, I'd definitely come back.

It's hard to say, but given the climate, you can't ignore that you'd be faced with mosquitos. So even though the property is equipped with repellent spray and rooms with mosquito plug-ins, you will need to prepare yourself with your own insect repellent, especially during the evenings.

the property is idyllic. It is meticulously maintained. Its in a peaceful location, set back from the main road up a hill. If you enjoy walking and soaking up new sights and sounds, galle town centre is a good 1 hour walk. a tuktuk, readily available will take 10 minutes. the same applies to the beach. The staff from initial booking to checking out were superb. Lots of communication via WhatsApp, which I found to be very helpful as it was my first time in Sri Lanka. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone, from the solo traveller, to a family group. I was treated with the utmost respect throughout my stay. I suppose I have to be honest in my review, and the only negative would be if you have walking difficulties, the hill is rather steep. But I’m sure if you mentioned this when booking, a staff member would be on hand to assist with such problems. Over all, a beautiful property, lots of wildlife to observe, unbelievable staff, perfect location. It does not get much better than this in my opinion, for the price!

When I discovered the Villa on Booking I knew I had to book it and couödnt wait to go there. This place is absolutely superb. The interieur and the garden is very nice and quite. Lots of birds to see..the pool is the most fantastic. The staff and manager are absolutely helpful and kind. The place has everything you can wish for. We got refreshments and fresh coconuts, got tips for eating out, help with taxis and so on. We felt very very much looked after. I wish I can come back on day again. Thank you for having us.

The villa itself was quite comfortable and vintage. We actually loved the wood crafting skills. Almost every surface is handmade and lets you feel in medieval ages. The staff was respectful and polite. Villa was clean and food was clean too. (You must pick your restaurants and hotels according to. Most of the places are not sensitive about hygiene) Special thanks to the villa manager Dinesh. He was so entertaining and helpful. (He helped us a lot, especially about the local transportations and travel tips. If it wasn't for him, we could not see that many essential places) Accommodation was enjoyable. It was nice and big with beautiful yard and swimming pool

The property had good facilities including a private pool and kitchen facilities. All requests were fulfilled by the host.

There was no AC in the living/dining areas. The property was not completely finished upon the agreed check in time and we were not told that the host/chef lived on site and would be present during our stay.

Privacy, quietness of the neighbourhood.

Despite the property being really beautiful, it was not well maintained. For a rental it was very cluttrered and the staff who rand the day to day were quite lazy. They were not expecting us so the place was not clean at all. There was dust and insects everywhere. Also, we had rented the 'whole' villa however, the staff used the living room and its TV as their space. We had nowhere to sit and relax as a family. There were no chanels as TV charges had not been paid, beds were left untidy and soaked towels were not changed over. All in all I would not recommend this place for a family of 6 as the one bathroom (advertised) is off the kitchen.

One bathroom for 3 double bedroom, even though we communicated several times with the property they were surprised when we arrived, the house was not clean nor prepared.
