House was great& the location to the beach was the best!

We spent our holiday at the house and really loved the house! We really liked the layout where we could all get together in the living area or retreat to our bedrooms if we needed some "me" time! Each of our 3 kids had their own room (one was in the loft and loved it!) and each of the couples had a spacious room with an ensuite bathroom. The house was in a great location-close to everything; beach, restaurants, shops, etc. The view from the upstairs balcony was amazing! Perfect spot for us and we plan on revisiting for future vacations!

We had a great vacation and the house had plenty of room for us. The location was perfect. However, the back yard and pool area was a disappointment. The back yard was strewn with leaves and dirt. The tiki hut wasn’t very clean and we couldn’t figure out how to turn the lights on as we wanted to spend a nice evening under the hut with drinks. Also one fan blade to the tiki hut was completely broken off and missing. It looked pretty tacky and didn’t work. I would stay there again if these issues were corrected. Or if the price was a bit lower. Overall it was a very good place to stay.

This home was a short walk to a beach that felt like it was your own private paradise! There is no public parking in the vicinity so only those in the neighborhood use the beach. The home came with all the beach playthings we needed and a beach wagon to haul everything there effortlessly. When a beach umbrella broke in the wind, the property management company delivered a new one within a couple of hours! While the house is listed as 4 bedroom with a loft containing a full bed w/trundle it doesn't work out that way. The Murphy bed tilts substantially to one side and no one in our group wanted to sleep on it; the loft with the full bed w/trundle is adorable but the ladder leading to it is treacherous for anyone but a tween to climb (although the ladder is architecturally cute). So because of the make up of our group we only had use of 3 bedrooms. Fortunately that worked out for us but potential guests should bear that in mind when calculating how many the house will in fact sleep. The other heads up I would offer potential guests is to heed the reviews about the thermostat settings; we did not. The a/c exterior units (3 I think) are mounted in one of the garage ceilings right under the master bedroom. The auxiliary fan to help dissipate the heat they generate from the garage was not functioning. The master bedroom was 77+ degrees almost all the time which made for less than ideal sleep; something we did not anticipate in a higher-end rental. The thermostats are all remotely controlled (by whom???) and preset to cool no lower than 73 degrees. even in the other bedrooms that temp wasn't reached until the middle of the night. The ceiling fans did help when we ran them on high all night. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking; there was nothing for the kitchen we needed that we did not find furnished with the house. There was even a toddler high chair in one of the storage closets which was useful since we were traveling with a toddler. The living level was spacious and the furniture comfortable. The pool/patio listing picture isn't a fair representation; the space is very cramped and the tiki hut (which occupies quite a bit of that space) is too hot to sit under. The overhead fan installed in the tiki hut did not work so there was no way to make that part of the patio usable. The house's location (N end of island) and proximity to the gorgeous beach canceled out these negatives for us but potential guest should be aware of them.

We really enjoyed our stayed, the house has everything you need for the beach. The only little details we didn't like lot and lot of mosquitoes by the pool. The ice maker is a plus and elevator. Great house in the north of the island.

Great location. Ample beach chairs, towels, coolers, ice makers. Huge plus was having 5 bikes. House was easy to keep tidy and super cozy!

Lovely beach house in a great location. We loved the sunset views from the various decks. There are a lot of stairs in the house which caused some stress for the parents of young children. There are ample bedrooms with plenty of space four our whole family. The pool is a bit disconnected from the rest of the house, but it was heated and very pretty.

Just perfect! Highly recommended for our family of 6 adults. Lots of space and decks for privacy and spreading out around the house. Well stocked, clean, great pool, lovely beach views. Ice maker in the garage, bikes, and beach supplies made the home even more special.

We absolutely loved this house and it’s location. House was very clean, had everything we could possibly need. We appreciated good quality firm mattresses. Swimming pool was not really big but we had a lot of fun every day in it. Shot walk to the beach was a big plus. In garage we found everything we need for the beach. We spend a lot of time on the balcony, so cozy, relaxing, super dreamy. View on the beach and sunset was stunning!

We had a great time at Yellow Bird. Location was fantastic. So close to the beach and Pine Street. We knew there was a small water view from an upper balcony but it was actually a really great view of the ocean. The house has a great layout with master on first floor and 3 bedrooms upstairs. One of the bedrooms is classified as an office with a murphy bed but it's a really nice bedroom with the best view. Bathrooms are all large. There are 3 balconies, 2 in back and 1 on front porch. Pool is shaded, like most houses on AMI, but that was nice as the weather was very warm. Would definitely stay in this house again.

The house was beautiful! Great beach view, short little walk to the beach. The beaches were not crowded. The pool was really nice to have! Great family stay.

The pool was an additional plus. Beds were comfy. Rooms were clean and allowed for privacy. Bathrooms were very nice. Washer/dryer worked well. The ice machine on the ground level was FABULOUS...plenty of ice day or night, and to stock the cooler to take to the beach. Elevator was a big help when stocking the kitchen with food for a week. All of the verandas were wonderful. We loved having the wagon to carry the beach gear....and this house provided TONS of stuff to enjoy at the beach. The bikes were great, too....another plus for our family's entertainment. It's obvious that the owners/management company wanted to make sure the guests had everything they needed and MORE. Another outstanding feature was the location....just a short walk to the beach and to nearby eateries. One of the fans on the veranda lost a blade in the wind, and a serviceman came out immediately to fix it. We also had a small issue with the refrigerator ice-maker, and once again the service call was handled very quickly. This says a lot about the management of this rental....service is everything!! We have already decided as a family to book Yellowbird the next time we plan a beach family reunion. And we might make this reunion at Yellowbird an annual event....it was SUPER GREAT!!

We couldn't have chosen a better rental house/location. There were so many extras provided that you would not get elsewhere. These included the elevator that assisted with bringing luggage and groceries upstairs, the large ice maker for filling up your cooler for the beach, AND the beach umbrellas, toys, wagon, floats, etc. The swimming pool and surrounding areas was great for relaxing after a day at the beach. This house was beautiful and a very short walk to the beach. We will definitely be back to AMI and will be staying at the beautiful Yellow Bird home.

The house was great! Plenty of space for our two families. Pool was nice and well maintained. Bikes were a huge plus. Nice views of the gulf from the balcony. This is not a negative, but we found it odd that not all bedrooms had a TV. Would rent this home again!

Overall our annual girl friend vacation to AMI was a success even in a pandemic. The house location to the beach was a very short walk. Offered all the beach accessories you would need for a fun, filled day enjoying the beautiful area. Also had a wagon, coolers to carry to the beach. The house was very clean. Kitchen with all the necessary cooking utensils to cook at the place which we did do to wanting to social distance from others. Bedrooms- beds comfortable. All the necessary bath towels available. We did not use the loft but perfect for younger people that don’t mind climbing the ladder. Enjoyed the outdoor porches. Weather was cool so nice area to enjoy the sun and escape the wind. Lots of stairs in the home but great elevator was used to bring luggage to the main floor and groceries off the entry way. Pool alarm attached to the backyard garage doors for safety. Initially unsure how to salience and manage but figured it out quickly. If you want sun on the pool during the day it is very limited do to lots of plants, tree and tiki hut. The backyard was cozy and the gas grill was top of the line for grilling. Reason for the 4 verses 5 star was the lack of next steps and communication with managing company. Slow response in sending the team necessary to assess and fix the pool heater. Had to call for updates multiple times on next steps. I continued to get multiple reasons why it wasn’t getting immediate attention. Unable to use during our entire visit due to broken equipment. Managing company did compensate with small refund but definitely a big disappointment for our group not able to enjoy a warm pool.

The kitchen was big with ample space for your own groceries and fairly well stocked. There is also a bar with a wine fridge in the living room. Large porch at back of main floor is a great spot for morning coffee, you can just glimpse the Gulf over the foliage. The small balcony off the murphy bedroom has a beautiful view. The beach access is on Cypress and is only about a 5 minute walk. Below I detail out some things future travelers may want to know but they in no way take away from how fabulous this home was and we would definitely stay here again. This is the quiet end of the island which means if you are seeking nightlife you will probably need a vehicle as the nearest trolley stop is about 10 minute walk and they stop running at 10pm. Renting a golf cart is a good idea, great way to get around the island. Kitchen: you will need bagged ice. The ice maker is tiny and the ice machine in the garage was not in use. Plus sugar, S&P, and saran wrap/foil. House only supplied one roll of TP per bathroom, one kitchen trash bag, one laundry pod and a small bottle of dish detergent. So plan accordingly. Plenty of blankets. The pool was great to have, no mosquito problem for us this time of year. It is deep...no shallow end. Some shorter friends could not touch. Lights under tiki hut would be nice but it is a great space to BBQ.
