We stayed at Sherry’s lake property for our daughter’s graduation weekend. Everything was perfect, exactly what we were looking for. Thank you!

We needed a home to accommodate our family during our stay for a VT graduation weekend. The open layout and well appointed space served us perfectly for a very memorable yet relaxing weekend. The kitchen was well equipped and the second, smaller fridge offered the additional space we needed for canned beverages. We cooked, played games, walked to the park, and enjoyed the sunsets from the back deck. We only wished we could have taken advantage of the lake this trip. A summer trip is a must! Nothing negative to say about the experience, all was as described. The beautiful drive to the house was by narrow and windy roads. The owners were highly responsive and accommodating. Five star rating for sure! Thank you for sharing this beautiful property!

We loved our stay. 4 families, 3 nights. The house was clean and freshly remodeled it appeared. The dock, and ability to jump off the top, was a highlight of the outdoor experience, with the fire pit a close second. Kayaks were great too. If you have 4 couples like we did, be aware one room has no door... It's in more of a hallway space. It was a bit of a bummer for one couple, but would have been great for kids. And the master bedroom is SO nice, everyone will want that room. Be prepared for little to no wifi or marginal cell signal. We got a Roku device to stream well enough to watch the Virginia Tech game. It was low quality resolution, but it didn't matter. We lost. ;o( Thumbs up to this house and the hosts!

Exceeded expectations. Very spacious master. Great set up for children - especially with 2 sets of bunk beds downstairs. Nice fire pit overlooking the lake and Godbey Cliffs.

A clean home with excellent communication with the hosts to clarify wifi issues with a beautiful lake view with easy access for all!

We all thoroughly enjoyed the house. The four days flew by as we got a lot of time swimming off the dock and enjoying the patio. We did get one night where the skies cleared and were able to get a fire going. We rented plenty of water craft to enjoy cruising around the lake in our pontoon boat and canoeing and paddle boarding over to the cliffs and around the nearby coves for fishing. Even though it rained for a bit we enjoyed all the amenities of the house. The only complaint we have is that we now have a four year old that is obsessed with water, particularly water where you can jump off a dock. Thanks again for the hospitality and if we’re ever down in that neck of the woods again we will be bothering you to stay for another trip.

Great place to stay, loved the lake and the view.

We couldn’t have chosen a more perfect weekend ! The weather was absolutely perfect- 70’s during the day and 50’s at night. We were able to enjoy the fire pit by the lake. Our grown children and families really loved the double decker dock. We were able to do some fishing off the dock and took our pontoon boat out each day. As well as our jet boat. Everyone, including the dogs, had a great time! The house is very nice with a spacious kitchen/ living area, a large deck facing the lake, 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The view is incredible from this property! We loved it here and would most definitely stay again in the future. Ann and John Williams

The property is much prettier than photographed. It’s very large, the yard was big, and the deck is awesome. We enjoyed our stay very much.

My family and I spent four nights here as we celebrated our son's graduation and naval commissioning from Virginia Tech. Travel to and from campus was under 45 minutes and the ability to relax in the home and on the lake was amazing. Great memories and a perfect long weekend. Many thanks to Sherry for assuring me that all will be good at her home. Fantastic time for everyone.

It was a wonderful, perfect weather wedding weekend shared with our grown children and 5 grandchildren! The rooms were great, everyone loved the fire pit in the evenings . The home is beautiful and so well appointed!

Although cold during our stay we were able to sit out by the fire pit and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Sherry was super attentive and left great instructions for the home. Would definitely go back!

We highly recommend this spacious and well appointed lake house. We had four couples stay here for the weekend while in town for a Virginia Tech football game. The interior of the house is modern and up to date and the master suite is exquisite. What we enjoyed most was grilling on the deck, hanging around the fire pit at night, and taking in the expansive views from the elevated dock on Claytor Lake. Check-in was easy with a remote code and the house information sheet was useful. It was a nice touch to not only have plenty of firewood, but also kindling and fire starters. We would go again.

This property is a beautiful spot. My family and I enjoyed it very much. We were a group of 14 and we were very comfortable with the accommodations! We especially loved the back yard view of the beautiful Claytor lake, and were even able to take a quick dip on this October weekend! Though it was a little further from Tech than we thought, my Hokie son and his roommates enjoyed visiting for the day to get a little break at this wonderful oasis; cornhole, swimming, and a back yard barbecue! We would definitely love to return before he graduates! Thank you to the owners for having everything we needed to make it perfect!

We chose this location for a small family reunion to center around a VA Tech football game. While not super close to campus, it was nicer than spreading out across various hotel rooms. With 5 bedroom and 3 bathrooms, the house comfortably fit 10 adults for the majority of our stay, and still comfortable when the college kids came back with us for a night of family bonding. As beautiful as the house is, the outdoor space is amazing. Not warm enough to swim (October), but we took full advantage of the deck out on the water for the views! Morning coffee on the deck was a must, as were evenings at the fire pit. The hosts were responsive to the few questions that we had, and we felt very welcome and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with enough service-ware for a large family, and every cooking or serving utensil you could ever need. What I would say is – make sure you bring everything you need with you! Once you exit the highway, it’s a long and winding way back to the house. While we enjoyed the peace and quiet – there is no such thing as a quick trip to the store! But trust me, once you are at the property, you won’t want to leave.

The hosts are very nice and responsive. The home is roomy, comfy and decorated nicely. Outdoor areas are great and we enjoyed many hours on the deck and by the firepit. A good place to unplug.

Wonderful experience. When asked “what was your favorite thing about the week?” the 4 youngest of the family (ages 4 to 10) responded “Everything!” we were very pleased with the property and the week. Thank you to the owners. Lots of space and beautiful yard and water front.
