We really enjoyed our stay at this Galena rental. It was very clean and the 2 1/2 bathrooms were great! The wrap around porch was really cute and the fire pit was a special addition to the end of our evenings. There were 5 of us and one of our group tried to use the sofa bed, but it was really bad and uncomfortable, so I would keep that in mind if your group exceeds 4. We were only a couple of blocks from downtown, but because of the steep roads (if you’ve ever been to Galena, you know what I mean), we drove the 2 minute drive to downtown. Very steep driveway, too, but it was worth it because the house is adorable.

A local resident was very nice and showed us there is a path with stairs so you don't have to walk through the street to get to the shopping areas. We even saw a fox, multiple deer, and other wildlife during our stay. The exterior of the house is covered in beautiful ferns and flowers, making for a beautiful view, even with houses close by. Overall a great experience staying here. We will be returning and would recommend to anyone looking!

Even though we were all adults staying, I love (as a mom of 2 babies) that they had baby gates and baby silverware for families with kids who are staying there. It was very peaceful just sitting outside by the fire at night and was quite close to Main Street without getting all the traffic. I will say that it wasn’t close enough for us to walk it. Much better to just drive the few minutes, and they even provide a business card for someone to pick you up and drop you off if you plan on drinking or just don’t feel comfortable driving around yourself. Would definitely rent this place again!

Description described the propery to a T. While it would be a 15 minute or so walk to Main Street, we did drive as there was no way our old lady bones could have walked those hills especially with all our shopping bags.. There is a weird noise in the house.when it started raining. Kinda sounds like a weed wacker constantly going.

We came to stay here because I was required to travel to the area for work. The downstairs bedroom worked perfectly as an office for Zoom meetings.During our stay, we had some terrible winter weather with ice. Many people are afraid of the steep driveway under these conditions. However, not to worry! Someone was there right away after one call. They returned to check on the conditions of the driveway the next morning to ensure we could get in and out. The response time was incredible!If you want a convenient location to downtown and a relaxing environment, this location is perfect for any season.

The home was so cozy, we didn't want to leave! Looking forward to returning in slightly warmer weather so we can enjoy the welcoming firepit. Saw deer every day! Walking distance to town but feels like you're in the country. Dont miss Bread & Vine for breakfast, lunch, cocktails ... you name it!

The great room TV is outdated and lacks streaming options beyond Netflix and Prime. Having no access to network programming was a real drag given the below zero temps the weekend we were there and not being able to view what was a big weekend in playoff football. Many rentals follow this pattern of only offering Wi-Fi and smart tvs. We would gladly pay a higher price for a more complete cable tv option at the very least network programming. When you’re stuck inside due to weather or there are major sporting events you need a better option.

This is a great place to stay if you’re looking to spend time in downtown Galena. It was a short walk up the hill after a day of shopping. The home was just as described. It was roomy and the beds were very comfortable. Great for 2 couples who want a little space of their own as each bedroom had a sitting area. We would definitely stay here again.

I booked this house last minute specifically so I could bring my dog. This place is so cute and very pet friendly. My dog appreciated the little couches just for her. The check in and out process and expectations were very reasonable. I would absolutely stay here again.

This is our usual home away from home when staying in Galena. We drove around the Galena Territories this time to see what would be available there, but the Territories are just too far away from everything for our taste. Harrison is a perfect location so we can walk downtown. We stay at this location with our French Bulldogs, who now consider it a second home. It was too hot to sit by the firepit when we were there this time, but we enjoyed being able to grill out on the gas grill and enjoy listening to the cicadas at night. It was absolute peace? This house has many stairs, so it is not a good choice for people with mobility issues, but we love that aspect. The loft bedroom has a king size bed with one of the most comfortable mattresses in the world. There is a second bedroom and bathroom in the lower level with another deck that is ideal if you wish to travel with another couple. The kitchen is not huge, but it is very well stocked and accessible. We seldom even need to leave for a restaurant while in the area. The best part is the beautiful sunrises you will see over the town and hills if you are willing to rise early enough. This makes the location ideal.

It was nice to only be a four minute drive to downtown. It was a little disappointing that it was impossible to walk to downtown because the roads were too narrow and twisty to be safe if a car came by at the same time. The description said it was possible to walk down the hill in the back, but we couldn't see a path and didn't want to walk in someone's yard. But I didn't want to take a star off for that, since it was a close drive.
