I booked this house last minute specifically so I could bring my dog. This place is so cute and very pet friendly. My dog appreciated the little couches just for her. The check in and out process and expectations were very reasonable. I would absolutely stay here again.

We loved how close this property was to downtown. Although it is not an easy walk, we did it multiple times during our stay. It was great exercise. :) The communication was excellent and the house was very clean. We also enjoyed using the fire pit. Expectations were very clear.

The driveway at 429 Harrison is a little tricky but every other aspect of the home was perfect. The home was very well appointed and clean. I wouldn't change anything.

It was nice to only be a four minute drive to downtown. It was a little disappointing that it was impossible to walk to downtown because the roads were too narrow and twisty to be safe if a car came by at the same time. The description said it was possible to walk down the hill in the back, but we couldn't see a path and didn't want to walk in someone's yard. But I didn't want to take a star off for that, since it was a close drive.

Absolutely wonderful. Great location, got to see some deer each morning everything you need is pretty much provided. I think we spent more time at the fire pit will definitely be going back.

My high school friends (of over 40 years) have been taking weekend getaways for the past several years. This year we chose Galena and had an amazing time. The property was just perfect for us. Everything was so charming and very comfortable. It was very close to downtown, as long as you don't mind taking the path down the hill. If that is a problem, we easily found parking on the road behind the house, down the hill. We will definitely return to Galena and most certainly would stay in this property again. We loved it.

Our three French Bulldogs are completely relaxed and at home at this house. Naturally, they need to be walked on leashes, but they enjoy the wooded area that leads to the stairway to the downtown area. This house is especially convenient if you are staying with another couple since there are separate bedrooms and bathrooms on different levels. The kitchen, while small, is very functional. The gas range is wonderful for cooking. The best part of this house is the porch. Having grown up in a home with a wrap around porch, this is a great retreat to the peace of my childhood. That, along with the firepit outside for making s'mores. In the fall and winter, when the leaves have fallen, nothing beats the sunrise over the city and hills. It makes rising early definitely worth it. If you are seeking a party house, this is not it. If you are seeking a home away from home with convenience to downtown, this is perfect for you.

Vacation

Gorgeous comfortable home, walking distance to downtown (it’s a few steep stairs, but will save you the headache of parking downtown). I wish they had a better description of how to get “down the hill”… we found the stairs on our last day.

Had a blast exploring beautiful Galena with the is place as our home base. The house has a unusual lay out, but we made it work. Galena is amazing!

Great location and great property.

We absolutely loved this dog friendly home. Home was lovely - very comfortable furniture and so well-equipped. Check in was super easy. Privacy was amazing for friends or couples sharing the rental! Both bedrooms involve quite a few stairs so if you have any physical issues or an elderly dog, just an FYI. Also, the beautiful property is very hilly so for driving and walking, be forewarned. This would not be an easy walk into downtown Galena but a super short easy drive. So peaceful and beautiful. We loved it.
