Stunning location, great access to the town, very comfortable living areas and bedrooms. Welcome basket full of amazing treats. Very clean. Had everything we needed. Ideal for a family with teens and a dog.
Lovely sofa and roomy chair but maybe an additional seat would top the lounge off.

So convenient for lovely Barnard Castle. Generally well equipped. It was good to be provided with milk, teabags etc
The cleanliness was acceptable but there were definitely some cobwebs and some areas which had been missed.

Everything here that you need. Fabulous views, listening to the river with the window slightly open at night was lovely, beds were really comfortable. Just felt so relaxed and would definitely recommend.
Only thing I can say here is there is some road noise when in the living room but once in bed it was silent.

The setting could justifiably be called iconic: the bridge, the river and the looming castle. There’s a lot of traffic past the building but it didn’t disturb and you couldn’t really have the setting without it.

Comfortable
Key wasn’t in key safe when we arrived. Had to ring owner and wait 50 minutes to get access to property. Not good after long journey. Property was fine but fridge too small for 4 people’s food and lots of traffic noise.

The apartment was very comfortable, especially the bed. Everything was of very high quality. It was well located with easy parking. It was exceptionally well equipped with everything you need and more.
The apartment sells itself on the cleanliness yet when we arrived it was certainly not clean. I reported this immediately by email with photo attachments but unfortunately Sykes cottages did not contact me until after I had left and the owners never responded to my email at all. I also had trouble with the lock to the outside of the apartment which was reported to the voicemail just after breakfast but I did not get a response until mid afternoon meaning we were locked out for several hours. Better communication would have sorted both these issues out easily.
