The room was clean and comfortable.

The staff were less-than-friendly. We had one evening where we were trying to figure out food and the man at the front desk was pretty rude when we asked about room service. And then the restaurant refused to do room service, even though they were open for another 20 minutes. Not the best way to treat guests.

Brilliant location. So many cafes and restaurants around. Shout out for the small restaurant on the corner offering lunch menu of soup/fruit + mains like chicken leg, or pork. Very spacious two-bed apartment. Comfortable beds. Nice staff.

A bit noisy outside of our room. The stairway can really echo.

I have been to plenty of hotels in Bogota before, mostly 5 star properties, but the vilar america beats them all. Employees are super friendly and accommodating. Location right in the middle of Chapinero is excellent, in a quiet side street, yet many shops and restaurants, ATM machines and other services in the direct vicinity. My apartment was huge and offered a big terrace to sit outside. It was equipped with all the amenities of a 5 star hotel, yet at a 4 star price. The 4 star suites by vilar america is managed excellent and they spend a lot of attention to details from a variety of pillows to choose from to bedside lights, to anti-slippery rubbers in the (rain Forrest) shower. Fully stocked minibar and lots of snacks at decent prices. You can buy and activate a Colombian SIM card for your mobile right at the front desk. I travel a lot, but this was the most impressive 4-star experience in a decade...

Very attentive staff. Breakfast was ample and nicely done.

No kitchen towels. The bathroom appears to be designed for someone in a wheel chair or limited mobility which is great but I am Not sure who designed it. There is no room or place to put toiletries. The sink itself is exceptionally small. It is only 26 inches above the floor and only has cold water. All towel racks are so low that the towels practically touch the floor and you need to lean over and reach down to find them. For a handicapped space the toilet is much too low at only 22 inches and the toilet paper holder is almost inaccessible, only inches from the floor and behind the toilet. When I arrived the porter had to practically slam the apartment door because the knob/lock mechanism was not functioning properly. I expected someone might come to repair it and when that did not happen I mentioned it to the desk staff the next morning (where it was politely noted).

The breakfast was the worst we have had in a hotel in a long time. Very poorly and flavorless.

The reception people are great and location was the best.

I loved the location and the spaciousness of the apartment suite I stayed in. The apartment had a spacious balcony and modern kitchen appliances. The king bed was very comfortable. The staff are wonderful, always attentive to help and very courteous. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. Very yummy!

when we took showers the water went everywhere including outside of the bathroom area due to poor canalization for the water to drain properly

It's a beautiful mid-century hotel. My apart-room were very nice size. Loved the couch n classic kitchen equipment. Will definitely stay again.

The size and layout of the rooms. Design of the hotel was cool.

some noise from floor above (heels walking on the floor). restaurant was being renovated so was disturbance during the daytime, starting around 8am. Breakfast food items could be improved. pastries were tough, cereals poor quality and fruit quality not great. we stayed a week and ended up taking in our own food and just drinking the coffee, which was good!

I booked a room with a kitchen so I could cook, but it was very out of date (different from the pictures) and had almost nothing to cook with.

The suite that i reserved was canceled the day before my arrival, so they offer me another option. I wasnt expecting that. The suite was 45 m2 they offer somethings 25 m2.

- wifi unstable and can be slow at times, not reliable if working remotely and doing video calls - room was cold and damp (was here during rainy season), my towels were often not dried the next day. I bought a little heater to put in the bathroom - pots and pans were in poor shape. Also they charged for dish washing liquid and scrub which I was so penny-pinching considering I paid for a suite with a kitchen - shower temperature unstable and didn’t get very hot. This was especially annoying because it’s quite chilly in Bogota at night and there’s no heating available

Location and price. it was clean

There wasn’t a way to control the cold inside the room, and it felt really humid. It was impossible to sleep until late or even during the day because we could hear a hammer all day long. It was really disturbing.
