The location was great, I mean the view was amazing and the quiet environment. Facility was perfect as well - all you need for such place and our purpose (equipped kitchen, terrace, pool if you want to use it…). The host was nice as well, very smooth communication:) Simply great value for the price!

The views from the property were superb, as we turned the corner of the building to see the view for the first time we both went "Wow" The gardens were glorious in colour from all the flowers. Apartment well equipped with everything we needed. Two levada walks which you could walk to within two minutes and another, just five minute drive a way. Despite its out of the way location it was around a five minute deive to Ribeira Brava town centre with all the shops. Fifteen minute drive to Calheta sandy beach.

Madeira is famous for its narrow lanes and this was no exception. To access the property we would drive down our lane as slowly as possible with my wife leaning out of the window on her side of the car, calling out distance from the various water gullys and stone walls. To be fair I was driving a left hand drive vehicle which I am not used to, and the locals drove down the lane at much faster speeds. The only other thing we did not like was beyond the owners control. Noise carries in such an open and quiet area and there was a JCB with a jack hammer attached working non-stop down in the valley. Not a problem when in the room or indeed touring the Island but we deliberately chose Casas Tipicas for its lovely gardens to sit, relax and sunbathe. Even on Saturday when we hoped he would not be working, he was, He is bound to stop at lunch time! He didn,t. 2pm, 3pm 4pm 5pm, 6pm, on he went and finally stopped at 7pm. I even tried ear plugs laid in the garden but that noise got inside your head. We would love to stay at Casa Tipica again but I would ask the question about rock drilling before I did.

Everything was perfect. Excellent host - very helpful, kind and accommodating. Absolutely stunning ocean view in the middle of the countryside. Lovely decent size pool. Would love to return.

We liked the view, the remoteness and the overall Madeira experience and privacy. A plus was the pool at the premises which we used often.

The location is wonderful! The terrace, overlooking the blooming flowers and the pool, was a great place to hang out or to have breakfast/dinner. Host was very helpful with local tips for the whole island.

Honestly, not much. You can definitely hear people in the other rooms but that is to be expected with this type of house. Other than that, the driveway to the house is a bit scary, but at least it prepares you for the Madeira roads!

Place has everything we needed. There is also BBQ area, which is perfect :)

The view is mind-blowing and the houses are also just like on the pictures. Literally minutes away from Levada Nova and fit travelers can walk as far as Ponta dol Sol taking the longer Levada do Moinho. House is well-equipped with kitchen amenities and everything to make your stay comfortable even for longer period. In hot days you can just chill at the pool, sipping your drinks. Very recommended stay! Extra tip: Don't use google maps trying to locate the place, follow the signs on the road.

Most drivers who don't drive in mountainous region on a regular basis, won't like the narrow streets and steep slopes to drive in, which lead up to the beautiful spot where these houses are placed. The view is compensating for the struggles though.

Spectacular location with view on the sea and into the gorge, southbound with sunny terrace from the morning until sunset. Perfectly located for trips to all places on the island. Enough towels! Just for info: no tv! Good, but hard mattress.

Dishes in the cupboard could be a bit cleaner.

Very quiet place. A beautiful view. Close to Levada Nova. We prefer quiet and modest accommodation. Overall we were satisfied and the holiday in Madeira was an amazing relax and an escape from the covid crazy world of mainland Europe. Trips and nature are fascinating, the food in the restaurants and the wine excellent. :-)

Older equipment, some chairs would like to be replaced (dirty clothes). As others have written, the first arrival at the place was adventurous. You have to come from above! The next few days it was more fun. Rent stronger cars on Madeira, many hills are steep. I have improved my driving skills. :-D
