Nice cabin. No firepit outside. Working the tv was confusing since there were no instructions left. Thermostat was weird and hard to set.

Our family had a wonderful time staying here. There was plenty of room for 6 adults, and we watched wildlife every morning and evening from the deck.
When road construction caused a water problem, the owner/manager was quick to respond with suggestions.

We contacted Budi Kusser (Black Hills Adventure Lodging is the property mgmnt company) multiple times with our concerns, she told us we should go stay elsewhere and blew us off. Prime vacation season with a group of 9, finding last minute lodging was not an option; we were stuck. We took pics & documented everything so we would not get blamed. All this left over from previous occupants: Tin of chew, old food in both fridges, underwear & shorts, deodorant, empty chip bag under bed. The house was not at all cleaned & not cared for it was so gross; feces on toilet, broken indoor and outdoor furniture, arms stuck to the dining table, not vacuumed, sheets didn't fit beds, grills so dirty we wouldn't use, TV remotes didn't work, locks on bathroom doors didn't work, hot tub not maintained & ready for use. Before booking this location, read the YELP reviews! We wish we would have read the reviews because we would absolutely not have booked this property. Budi Kusser and the property mgmnt company have a laundry list of issues! There are so many pages of complaints in the guest notebooks left in the house as well.

the stay was ok, great location to deadwood. Property needs some general maintenance. There was an awful sewer gas smell throughout the cabin. After filling all the drains with water it seemed like it improved after filling the garage floor drains on the second day. The hot tub lid was torn in half and a major pain to get on and off. Ceiling fan did not work. Kind of funny people in the guest book noted fan did not work since 2020. Clean towels were left unfolded piled up on the basement couch on our arrival.

The experience in the Black Hills was amazing! The house was a great place to stay. We did an adventure every day and it was nice to come home each night to a house that felt like home each night, warm and welcoming. There was space for everyone to spread out and enjoy each other’s company. Highly recommended.

This home was perfect for our family of five. Everyone had their own, comfortable room and bed! We all enjoyed the hot tub and foosball table - those perks were actually our deciding factor to rent this home and it was the right choice!!

This property was very clean and stocked very well with all the essentials you would need. We were a group of 13 riding ATV and it was nice that we could hit the trails right from the property. There is also an SXS rental, campground, and small restaurant about 2-3 minutes from the property. Definitely would recommend. Communication was excellent with the property manager. Very prompt.

This house is close to everything, but far enough away to sit in the hot tub and relax and take in the deer and chipmunks. We loved the closeness to the town of Lead as we got groceries and loaded upon gas for our daily motorcycle rides. The place was a little dusty and one bed ha da old mattress and I got the short straw on that one and have a bad back.

Overall, the property is in a great location with plenty of space for sleeping and gathering. There were two things that would make me think twice about staying there again. First, the cleanliness. Light fixtures, dishes in the cabinets, BBQ grill etc were all dirty. Not just a little bit either. There were literally dead flies in the bathtub when we arrived. Second, the lighting. Very dim, very poor lighting. It was difficult to read at night and hang out anywhere but the kitchen. However, the hot tub was great. The price was right and with a good cleaning and updated lighting I'd stay again.

The house was large enough for our group. There is some issues that could easily be fixed and noticed the same issues get listed in the book at the house. The showers need help. Together it turned on and hot without the handle falling off is quite the trick. We fixed a broken seat from a barstool by finding screws in the junk drawer so we had an extra chair to sit on. There are a few other things that if someone spent a day really cleaning better and fixing it would be so much better.

The location of this property was great. Quiet Neighborhood. Awesome views. They need to do some maintenance. Screen door broken on sliding glass door. Shower valve in Master falls off, Dishwasher leaks. No screens on windows in living room, so could not open to let the fresh air in. Kitchen bar stool needs levelers & renail the seat on. Great space for a large group.

Timber bark lodge stay
This house is perfect for3 couples! The kitchen was stocked well except we were out of trash bags and dishwasher soap. The location was perfect for our 4-wheeling adventures! The place was roomy and the fireplace was so cozy coming in after a chilly and rainy day of 4-wheeling. The only complaint was that the screen door on the patio door did not work. Was a little annoying to open and close. Thanks for letting us stay at Timberbark Lodge!

Good experience
We had a good time. Got stuck in the cabin all day one day and had plenty to keep us entertained. Was nice to have the fireplace because we lost power for a couple hours. Very nice stay, would recommend to anyone.

Bridal Party Getaway
The location comfortably accommodated 12 people for a relaxing visit to the Black Hills. The location is close to Deadwood and the transportation to Deadwood is easy if that is the reason for your visit. Nice kitchen space that accommodated a lovely brunch and gathering space.

Presidents’ Day snowmobiling trip
Our stay was great. Wish I would have brought some paper plates, tin foil, baggies, things like that as there was none at the cabin. Could not find the wifi password, not a huge deal. Very spacious and clean. Christmas decorations there is off a bit in the middle of February but it was cozy!
Everything worked as listed and will rent again
