The home was wonderful. It is set up perfectly for families and friends. There is plenty of space for everyone in our group. The lake access was very nice. The hike to the lake was steep, but not too bad. It was great to have access to the canoes and kayaks. The owner was easily accessible and easy to communicate with. We had a wonderful vacation.

View from the house is gorgeous……the house was lovely, 9 in our group, plenty of room. My grandchildren loved the loft and they had me playing ping pong every night! The house is very well equipped with everything one would need, including the canoe and paddle board at the dock, which was used every day…..we rented a boat in Polson and spent a day exploring Wild Horse Island, and just being on the water!

My brother's family stayed in this darling lake house over the holidays. It had everything you would need including a white Christmas day! This is a great place to rent in any and all Montana Seasons!

This was the perfect property for my family for a week of fun at and on the lake. The views are incredible and we had great fun swimming, kayaking and canoeing from the dock. The house is very well appointed and the kitchen has everything you need. I mad a rib dinner for 14 and we were able to fit everyone on the beautiful deck to enjoy it al fresco. Beds were super comfortable and fans worked well to keep the house cool even in high heat (the design of the home has much to do with this). I would definitely choose this property again. Als, Mara (the owner) was very helpful and kind. Everyone in the family (even those staying elsewhere for the week) loved the property. We had three children ages 2 and1/2 to 9 and all three were sorry to go. So much to do, so many fun activities for all.

Nice property. Steep hike to the dock, but the view, water toys, dock and beach are worth it. Kitchen was well stocked and the patio was lovely!

We brought our family of seven and there are many options of things to do just staying at this well-equipped house. The views are gorgeous and they thought of everything a family would need to enjoy themselves in this gorgeous area of Montana. Very spacious and cozy. We hired guides to teach us how to fly fish, went atv-ing in the back country, visited and hiked Glacier, enjoyed many state parks, canoed and swam, enjoyed a fire on the beach and soaked up the serene surroundings. We saw snakes, deer, many birds, an eagle and two black bear in the area around the house. Highly recommend for some peace and quiet. Enjoyed huckleberry scones at Lake Side Bakery in Polson…a must for breakfast…lots of yummy choices. Thanks for a wonderful and memorable vacation.

The hill down to the lake is steep, but well worth it for the physically fit! The water is clear and the view is unparalleled. Kitchen is well equipped and there are toys, books and games galore. The home itself is charming and obviously a labor of love, which gives the whole place a great vibe.

We had an amazing time on Finley Point! The kayaks, paddle boards and canoe provided a lot of fun for all ages. The kids enjoyed having their own sleeping area in the loft above the garage. Cooler nights welcomed campfires on the gravel beach. The deck just outside the kitchen and the dock on the water were great spots for sunrise with coffee and sunsets. The kids enjoyed riding bikes, playing yard games and ping pong when they were not playing in the water. Definitely a workout up/down the path to the water, which should be considered if traveling with older family and friends.

What a nice place for a family to stay. Plenty of room, beautiful views. The kids were able to swim for hours. We were to tired at the end of the day for fire pit.

This was a great family experience for 11 adults and 3 kids. The place had everything we needed from beds, sheets, towels, washer & dryer to all the necessary water toys like canoes and paddle boards. We needed additional adult life jackets and fortunately had brought our own so this was no issue. The hill down to the dock is steep but our older parents were able to manage with walking poles. Check in was easy and so was communication with Mara. We're already missing the strawbale house on the lake and looking forward to next time.

We really enjoyed our stay on Finely Point. The house was darling and lots of toys for our little ones. The kitchen was nice and has all the necessities. The house was very clean and comfortable. Plenty of towels for showers and the beach. The beds were comfortable. The water right off shore was amazingly clear and beautiful and use of the paddle boards was the hit with the preteens/teens. We stay every summer on Flathead and this was the most family friendly house. Mara was very helpful and responsive. The trail down to the water is a little hard for people that may have mobility issues, however, my three year old made it up and down with ease. Thank you for such a wonderful trip and experience.

Fantastic home for a large family gathering. The beachfront is amazing! The home is well equipped and has both good sleeping quarters for a variety of ages and has a comfortable living space and deck as well. Gorgeous home in an amazing setting!

We loved our stay at the strawbale house. The house was very comfortable for our family group of 12 and well equipped with everything we needed. Lots of fun activities to enjoy! Lake access and paddle boards, kayaks and canoes were great. We are ready to come back ASAP!!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Straw Bale House. The interior was a great combination of rustic and charming. Well equipped kitchen. Nice deck and view of the lake. Fun dock area with campfire. Convenient, 15 minute drive to Polson. Our only regret was that we chose not to bring our boat after learning just before we arrived (“house rules” communication) that we could not tie the boat up to the dock over night. Having now experienced the quick weather changes on the lake I can now appreciate the reasoning behind that particular rule. However, not being familiar with the potential storms (and associated rough water) on the lake, it would have been nice to know this requirement before we rented the property. The prominent featuring of the dock in the vrbo posting suggests otherwise.

We had the privilege of staying here for 4 days with extended family (9 people total) ranging from a 8 month old baby to a senior citizen. We were so grateful for the plentiful towels, the abundance of cookware and utensils and the second fridge as we had all our meals at the property. The beach toys provided all the right play opportunities for the younger people. The beautiful deck and lakeside area allowed us to spread out and to enjoy all parts of the property. A few quick points, if you have mobility issues (canes/walkers) getting down to the lake will be a challenge with either points of access. We did perfectly fine on the neighbors access though with a high quality stroller. If you struggle with being in the full sun ensure you bring your own sunshade as the beach does not get shade until after lunch and the porch is in full sun for most of the day. Don't hesitate to book this property, all is exactly as advertised and Flathead Lake is absolutely stunning!

We stayed at this home, and had the most amazing time! We had the whole family with us, brothers, kids, wives, and our mom. (11 total) Our kids are all teenagers so the loft above the barn was perfect for them! This home had everything you need and more, the view was beautiful, and it was just a short trail down to the lake, how ever if you have little kids, it could be a bit steep. The kids, went from the lake to a bike ride, to playing board games. It was perfect. The pictures don't do justice on how fabulous this place was! The owner was very helpful and always got right back to me with any questions I had. Thanks for sharing your home Mara!

My children, grandchildren, and I spent last week at this home at Finely Point on Flathead Lake. We had an absolutely wonderful time! The house is spacious and family-friendly. It is well-stocked and clean. It has a large gathering room, where we enjoyed spending time together. The view off the deck is spectacular! It was so peaceful sitting out on the deck in the evenings. My older grandkids loved having their own space to sleep in the big room above the garage. They enjoyed the ping pong table in the garage, as well as the bikes and toys. The dock and beach were amazing! Everyone had so much fun swimming and using the watercraft they had for us. They had a variety of paddle boards and rowboats, as well as life jackets for us to use. I loved that the beach and dock were in a safe, little private area of the lake. The lawn chairs and fire pit on the beach were so nice, especially in the evening. This home was the perfect place to make happy family memories! I'd recommend it as a great place to stay.

The home was exactly what we needed. Spacious and well equipped inside and outside. The accommodations were outstanding. The views of Flathead Lake were breathtaking. Only minutes from town but we didn't want to leave.a definite home away from.home. I definitely will return to this property.

My husband, our 6 kids [ages 17-24] and me truly enjoyed our stay at this home! In the early stages, Mara was very responsive and easy to work with. The booking phase was quite simple. I agree with other reviewers who say that the pictures do not do the property justice. The view of the Mission Mountains is INCREDIBLE!! I am very happy we chose a home with an east-facing view. In addition, the lake is equally as beautiful and can be seen from the house. The downstairs of the main home is open and there was plenty of space for all of us. Our four daughters stayed in the room above the garage and had their own full bath. My husband and I and our two sons all stayed in the main house where there are two more full baths. The kitchen is nicely equipped and we prepared several dinners while there. Polson is only 6 miles away and they have Safeway, WalMart, Walgreens, and plenty of restaurants. We used the ping pong table, tether ball, beach, dock, paddle boards, canoes and fire pit. It was really nice having so many activities and things to do at the home and with the sun setting so late in the evening, we had plenty of time after dinner to enjoy the outdoors. For those who want to relax, there is a nice deck to enjoy. The path down to the beach/dock is steep but it gave us a change to work our glutes every day. There is an option to use a less hazardous path down to the beach. I HIGHLY recommend this property and would absolutely stay there again should my travels bring me back to beautiful Montana!

We spent a wonderful week at the property and thoroughly enjoyed the large gathering space on the first floor, the great selection of watercraft down by the lake, the magnificent views, and the ping pong table in the garage. My two year old grandson loved the toys that came with the house, and my 84 year old parents were excited to share serious family time with the entire family. This house is beautifully functional and was constructed with vision and imagination. Thank you Mara and Jon for allowing us to experience your masterpiece!!!

The house was more beautiful than the pictures through VRBO could show and my family loved it. We would have given 5 stars except for the path to the pier. It was no problem for most, but a bit of a challenge with a rambunctious 3 year old and made us worry more than we wanted to on vacation! My husband and I (70 and 65) managed well but could imagine problems for those less fortunate in the knee and hip department. Our 3 children, spouses and other 2 grandchildren delighted in the boats, kayaks, etc. and the views were out of this world. Lots of space for sleeping with great kitchen, dining and areas for socializing.

Our group had an amazing time at the straw bale house! The house was well stocked with towels, kitchen supplies, games, children's toys and books, movies, and most importantly, outdoor toys! There were kayaks, paddle boards, and a canoe! The beach/dock area was perfect for big kids and little kids and it had a fire pit and ample seating to relax by the lake! The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The sleeping quarters above the garage was perfect for our kids and slept a large number of people. The ping pong table was an added bonus since we experienced a full rainy day up there. There was also horseshoes and a badminton set! Everyone in our group raved about this property and how 'perfect' it was! Mara was pleasant to work with and very accomodating! We will definitely return!

Our family loved staying at this lovely home on Flathead Lake in August 2015. It was our first time in the area and we felt we really lucked out by renting this great property. The house itself was more than spacious for our family of two adults and four kids ages 12, 9, 9 and 7. We wished we had another family along to share our great experience as there was more than enough space! Not only was the house well furnished and equipped with everything we needed, but the kids loved having the dock, a nice rocky beach, paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, float, fish trap, ping pong, games right there for us to enjoy. The owners were very accommodating, even when there was a little hiccup on our arrival but they more than made up for it, which we really appreciated. We loved staying in the area and visited Glacier National Park twice during our week stay. Our kids really want to go back to visit again, mostly because they loved staying in this house so much!
