Our girls weekend in Elkin was fabulous. Upon arrival we walked in, music was playing and it was so clean and welcoming. We then walked through the backyard to Slightly Askew winery for a free wine tasting. We will definitely consider this home on our next trip! It was perfect.

Everything was fabulous as always (we have stayed here multiple times). Exceptionally clean, well,stocked, beautifully decorated and great communication with the host. Could not ask for a better experience!

Hard to find houses with just king and queen beds, but this one fits the bill. Has an awesome deck with grill and hot tub. Great location in the middle of everything.

The place is very spacious- I’d say more so than it seems on the description. Also in a good location. The only downside was getting into the property. I was told I’d get a code for checking in 24 hours before. I did not. When I texted to ask for it the day of, it took a while to hear back. Further, my cousin tried to call the host because she had arrived before me and the host did not answer so they waited for a couple of hours. Thus, the trip started off rough but ended great.

The house and furnishings were very clean and comfortable, and the gas fireplace was a nice touch since it was chilly the nights we were there. Large window in the living room looks out to a lovely view. Great place as our home base for touring the area wineries.

We have stayed here two times before with satisfactory experiences. My only criticism is that parts of the house was TOO cold.

Everything we needed and more. Great location for our wine tasting trip. We had beautiful views, and all the amenities needed for 3 couples. Tracey answered our questions within minutes. We can’t wait to go back!

Our family of 4 couples had a wonderful time. The house with 2 king suites and 2 queen rooms with hall bath, huge deck, kitchen, table for 8 and enough comfortable den seating for 8 was perfect for us. The kitchen was stocked better than any rental we have ever used. Loved the gas logs for when the weather turned cool but we stayed so busy we didn’t use the hot tub. House is around the corner from Askew Winery so that the 2 backyards connected. A simple walk out back and we experienced the best wine tasting of our trip. Beds comfortable and linens were luxurious feeling. Everything was super clean too. Our only difficulty was figuring out the thermostat. Drug store, pizza all super close by but there is no traffic noise as the house is on a side street. Had no problem parking our 4 vehicles in the driveway either. 100% approved by our group. Wish all rentals were this nice. Thanks Tracy!

This was our second stay at Slightly Askew house. This trip we stayed for a week with 8 family members (2 elderly) for a family wedding. The space is perfect for larger groups - big meals, family time. The separate space downstairs was perfect for a couple of the adult kids to break away and hang out. So pleased with this home - location, cleanliness, and of course the wine tasting that is included!

Never disappoints

We typically plan trips to Yadkin Valley at least twice per year and this was our first return in two years and our best return overall! We always bring new people with us because we love giving them tours of some of our favorite wineries and always add new ones to visit. It is surprisingly difficult to find a rental property that doesn't have a room or multiple rooms even with twin beds or bunk beds and it makes no sense to split couples up like that, so finding this gem with four rooms and four proper beds for couples was great! We will definitely return for that convenience alone. Not only that, but everyone reported their beds were perfectly comfortable, which so often is not the case. Being in Elkin, it is in close proximity to several of the wineries on our itinerary and having a kitchen full of cookware made for a great start to our wine tours! The hot tub was a perfectly welcome end to our evenings. The wide open living room and kitchen made for comfortable gatherings. On our next visit, I hope we have time to make use of the grill.

We are incredibly grateful for our wonderful weekend at the Slightly Askew house. The property was as beautiful and spacious as advertised, and the hosts incredibly kind. The wine tasting was a (delicious) generous touch and great way for us to meet the hosts and hear a little about the town. There was more than enough room for 3 couples in our group and a great place to reconnect as friends- especially relaxing in the hot tub or in front of the bay window overlooking the forest. We’re all so glad we stayed here!

This house was perfect for my family of adult children while attending a reunion outside Elkin. Beds were comfortable, house was well equipped. Enjoyed use of hot tub. Very nice house.

Tracie was very helpful with all of our questions and everything that we needed was provided at the house. The house is very spacious and we felt comfortable with a group of 10 ladies staying for the weekend. We also loved Slightly Askew Winery, which you can walk to from the house!
