Not enough flattering words exist to adequately describe the apartment and service Karen provided my wife and I during our two week stay in Maui. This was, hands down, one of the top vacations of our lives, and owe so much of it to Karen's incredibly well-appointed home-away-from-home. The bed is so comfortable. The shower has great water pressure. And, of course, the sunset view from the lanai is stunning. The location is also so convenient. As a host, you can tell immediately that Karen cares about your vacation. She's responsive, knowledgeable, and encouraging. She gives you everything you need to feel like you are settled and secure. If you are staying in Maui, THIS is where you want to stay. Seriously.

Lovely well equipped condo with many upgrades. Beach view was amazing. Made for two people . Short walk to a great bakery for coffee and a muffin. Great sandy beach for morning walks. Sandwich shop on resort was handy for a quick meal. Free parking. Keyless entry. Beautiful sunset view. Warm on the deck in the late afternoon .

We chose this property, because it had all the elements I was looking for: a beachfront condo with parking and a good central location. This property was perfect and I’m so happy we chose it. Firstly, you walk into the apartment and the sliding glass door opens up to a gorgeous beachside view of the ocean. This unit is on the second floor and I was wonderfully surprised to see how close we were to the beach- I’d say 100 feet or so away. We had breakfast on the lanai every morning, listening to the waves crash, and watched beautiful sunsets every evening. The condo was very clean and well appointed with all the conveniences you would hope for. Also, the condo comes with some beach supplies like beach chairs and boogie boards, which was a pleasant bonus. The check-in process was very easy as Karen provided us with excellent, clear instructions before our arrival. It is also evident that she puts a lot of care and thought into making the people who stay at her property feel at home (if your home was on a beautiful sandy beach in Maui!). The location of this property couldn’t have been better. It was centrally located to all the places we wanted to explore: 30 minutes to West Maui, 17 minutes to Paia for the start of the Road to Hana, and just over 1 hr to the summit of Haleakela. I would absolutely stay here again. The only downside to the whole experience here, and there is only one, is that we had to leave. It was a wonderful home base for an amazing Maui vacation.

Such a great condo right on the beach Sugar Beach resorts has a concierge like office. We ordered a dinner cruise and couples massage. Owner is so responsive to questions about the area both before and during our stay.

This was the best experience to date with VRBO. Our host Karen was the best from start to finish! Great communication and true concern to make sure her guests enjoy their stay. The location was even better than its description. Immaculate, extremely well appointed with just about anything you may need. Highly recommend staying here! The most gorgeous view and sound of Maui right on the ocean!

Karen’s place in Kihei (sugar beach resort) was the best VRBO we have stayed at. It had everything! Plenty of toiletries, snorkel gear, beach chairs and umbrella. The kitchen was fully stocked with cutlery and plates/cups. Most importantly, the bed was extremely comfortable. We have already looked into buying the same mattress topper. The views are marvelous and it takes about 10 seconds to walk to the beach. Lastly, Karen was extremely communicative when we had a few questions. And the check in process was a breeze. We would give it more than 5 stars if possible, and we highly recommend this VRBO to any travelers coming to Maui!

Amazing views, clean, well stocked kitchen, great mattress

Everything was great. Well stocked with suplies, paper towells, baggies, foil, spices etc. Will stay again. Bed was comfortable. Awesome view and so close to the beach.A++++ couldnt ask for more.

We were looking forward to our stay at Karens Condo but unfortunately the tragic fires happened and everything else became second thought. Karen, kept up communication and we were issued a prompt refund . Our hearts go out to the people of Maui and we will get another chance to stay at Karens condo once Maui is ready and able to resume normal visits

Wonderful accommodations that we thoroughly enjoyed. The host has thought of and supplied EVERYTHING needed for a super beach experience from kitchen gadgets to snorkeling gear and boogy boards. Be sure to look under the bed. Would stay here again without question.

Doesn’t get much better than waking up, drinking your coffee on the lanai, and watching the waves break on the beach. Condo had everything we could possibly need for a day on the beach. Great spot! Hope to come back again. Karen took great care of us. Mahalo!

We loved our stay at Sugar Beach and would come back in a heartbeat. Friendly staff, smooth check-in process, and the place had everything we needed. We can’t wait to come back!!!

My wife and I stayed for 7 nights in this condo. The condo was as advertised and very clean upon our arrival. Beautiful ocean view with a great lanai, well stocked with laundry and kitchen supplies, as well as beach chairs, an umbrella and beach towels. The central air worked great and the washer/dryer worked well although the washer spin cycle is very loud. The condo complex pool/jacuzzi area was well kept and we used the propane BBQ to grill fish. The BBQ is cleaned daily. The beach is very scenic and walkable although the water is a bit murky and not the best for snorkeling in my humble opinion. Parking was easy and plentiful. The host, Karen, was very responsive and provided clear communication through the whole process. The condo is a short drive from great restaurants, food trucks and beaches. We had a great time and can highly recommend this condo!

This is the place to stay! Everything was amazing...from the dishes in the cupboard, to the soft bed with big pillows. #228 was for us, home. Already miss my coffee in the morning while watching the waves sway. mahalo Karen for your communication and enthusiasm for us to have a dream come true....

Sugar Beach is great we felt like we had our own private beach. The condo was just right for us and all our needs. Comfortable bed. awesome water pressure in the shower. The best view!!!

The condo was perfect for two people & stocked with absolutely everything needed. We took coffee in the portable cups every morning to go snorkeling. The beach is nice & walkable. The bed was very comfortable. We loved the lanai & view is unbeatable. Great communication with the owner. Will stay again.

This was a wonderful experience from the day we booked to the day we checked out. The condo has all the amenities and everything we needed for a weeks stay. The condo is in impeccable shape and right on the beach. We’re truly going to miss the sounds of the waves crashing on the beach all night long.. We truly enjoyed our stay at Karen’s place and highly recommend staying here. It is very conveniently located and easy to get to sites around the island. She is an excellent host and goes above and beyond to make sure you have what you need and communicated very clearly and in a timely manner. We liked that the unit was on the 2nd floor as it allows you to avoid the elevator and gets you high enough for a great view. It’s extremely close to the water and the sunsets were amazing. The complex itself is smaller, very well maintained, and wasn’t overcrowded like the big resorts. The whales were very active this time of year and we observed them offshore through binoculars (which are provided) and even some closer up (within 100-200 yards from shore). There was also so much provided to make the stay easy and enjoyable (beach chairs, cooler, snorkeling gear, beach towels, kitchen well-stocked, etc.). The only thing to note is the water clarity in this area may not be that great for snorkeling depending on the time of year and winds. However, it’s just a short drive to some of the best snorkeling in Maui. I’m a tough critic and expect rentals with a 5-star rating to live up to the hype and Karen’s place definitely delivered a wonderful experience.

The good and amazing - incredible view right on the beach, thoughtfully stocked condo. Has everything you need and more including a portable speaker, beach chairs, and cooking extras. Owner communications were responsive and informative. Very clean, bed was super comfortable, towels were amazing. Pool hours are fine and lots of seating available. You can bring your own drinks and food. The not so great - older building, no pool bar, not much close by. There is a restaurant with limited hours on site.

It was amazing. Karen supplied snorkeling gear and coolers. The unit was just feet from the beach definitely coming back.

Everything was perfect.

This condo was a perfect base for a quick Maui trip. Karen was so easy to work with, the condo is exactly as described, and the central location is great if you plan to day trip all around the island . It is super clean and has everything you need. We especially appreciated the snorkel gear and the small cooler - it was great to just pack up a cooler full of fresh fruit, grab the snorkels and head out for the whole day! Also loved coming home to that sunset view and then walking for malasadas in the mornings. An all around great experience!

Everything about the stay was fantastic. The location was central to everything you could want and the owner was fantastic checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. The lanai was hard to leave since the sunrise and sunsets were both great. Can't wait to visit again!
