The condo is fantastic - lots of room, well equipped, very nice! The pool and hot tub and location are great. The condo needs a deep cleaning. I would stay her again; however, I would ask about construction. During our stay there was construction going on in a unit above ours. Floor tile was being removed with a jackhammer throughout the day for most of our stay. I was not told this would be happening prior to booking. We would have booked another location in Sugar Beach Condos if we would have known prior. Construction is booked ahead of time and the property owner would have known but did not share this information prior to us booking.

The view was spectacular. Sat on the lanai and watched the whales play.

The unit was just as pictured! Everything was clean. Bed was comfortable. They had everything we needed. We will be back!

We loved this property. You stay right on the water and are close to both downtown Kihei and close to Lahaina for a day trip. The room was great! Clean and spacious for the two of us. The view of the ocean was beautiful. Highly recommend.

We celebrated our 30th anniversary in Maui and the week was perfect!! Can't wait to go back next year.

This condo was just right for my husband and I to stay in with our 4 year old. The location in Kihei is very central to everything on the island. The condo is small, but it’s enough for a small family. My son slept on the pull out sofa luckily cause it was not comfortable at all but he didn’t seem to mind. We were given some small supplies like dishwashing liquid, coffee and filters, shampoo, toilet paper, etc. It was really nice having the coffee already provided since we got in near midnight. We used the washer and dryer multiple times, and found out the dryer vent actually comes out in the bathroom which is connected to the bedroom and would make the bedroom really hot when we ran it. The grounds at the resort were very pretty, nice pool area, and very short walk to the beach. The beach is beautiful, of course being in Hawaii, however directly in front of the resort are a lot of rocks once you begin to wade out. We found out on the last day if you walk to the edge of the resort beach property and wade out from there, there are no rocks. Due to the sand being dark brown, the water isn’t exceptionally clear until you get out a bit where the waves aren’t hitting the beach. Then you see that clear sapphire Pacific water. The absolute best thing about this condo was being able to see the whales from our lanai. We saw multiple every day, and it’s an incredible experience! The only complaint I have is the management company does not communicate well. I’ve stayed in many condos and had to deal with management companies, and this one was the worst. They want you to use an app to get all your info and check in instructions. I let them know a week prior to our arrival that I could not log into the app. Reviews on the App Store for it say it’s had this issue for many months, yet I was told I still had time to log in before my trip. Because I traveled while the COVID mandates were still in place, I had to send them our approval once we landed at the airport and again, I couldn’t get in the app so I had to track down a phone number. They did respond quickly to that with our code to get in our condo. We realized the next day we never received the WiFi password or pool gate code. I had to reach out to get the WiFi code and luckily another guest let us in the pool. It took awhile to get the WiFi code. I was also not informed that I needed to check in at the office until there was a note taped to the door. Overall, I’d stay again.

Adequately maintained and updated older property. Management company could pay more attention to cleaning of unit and dishes, and making sure bedsheets are being laundered. Appreciated well supplied kitchen and provided beach chairs. Overall, a wonderful place.

We have stayed in a number of ocean front units at Sugar Beach. This is a very well positioned unit with a fantastic view. The condo is nicely renovated and comfortable. Our one big complaint is that we did not receive the code to open the front door with our welcome email before we arrived, as I have with every other condo we have ever rented including four trips in 2021 during COVID. We arrived late in the evening, and when I brought up the email from the management company there was no code and no instructions. This was super frustrating as we stood in the parking lot calling the management company after a 14 hour trip, and of course getting a recording because it’s 8pm. Turns out this is standard procedure for this group, who then asked me to send them a copy of my vaccination card before they would give me the code. Maui already requires proof of vaccination or negative test for admission at the airport so this step seemed superfluous; why not request this information before we arrive so our check in can be fast and smooth, rather than inconvenient and awkward? Other minor quibbles: older and inadequate number of towels, meager supplies provided compared to the other units we have stayed in. But we would recommend this unit for the view and overall comfort.

First of all, let me just say one VERY positive thing . . . the location of this property is AWESOME! Sugar Beach was a new destination for my hubby, who's been to Maui countless times before. The fact that we could walk for literally MILES down the beach was just what we love, so it's got that going for it. Also, the view from the lanai was fabulous. Unfortunately, we can't speak that highly about this particular condo. The first thing we noticed was a rank odor upon entering the condo. Not sure if it was from the washing machine? A very sour odor. I opened the slider to let in some fresh air, stepped out onto the lanai, and noticed another foul odor of some kind. Maybe the carpet on the lanai has mold/mildew? I don't know, but it was difficult to stay out there for any length of time. The last thing I want to talk about is the couch/sofa bed. SO VERY UNCOMFORTABLE!!!! Sitting on it was so uncomfortable and we decided after a couple days to open up the bed part to lay on it, thinking that would be more comfortable. Is wasn't. I can't imagine anyone being able to sleep there. My husband thought the bed was really uncomfortable, but it was ok for me. So - some good stuff, some not-so-good stuff. Just our opinion.

The unit is very nice, roomy for a 1 br, nice views, pool and spa. Do not expect much from the management team if anything should go wrong. We had no air conditioning for 2 days and nights and would really appreciate a partial refund. The local management company was no help.

Great Sugar Beach location, we designed grounds, great for kids and adults alike.

We love eating our meals on the lanai and enjoyed the view. A bit of a glitch with the check in process, but we loved the place. Amazing snorkeling and food in the south Kihei area. You won't be disappointed!

Friendly, courteous, helpful staff at front office. Fortunately the office was open for our check in. TheVRBO app for "Access Instructions" did not work, so we wondered how we would have checked in if the office had not been open. Overall experience was great. We met a lot of friendly vacation travelers at the cookout grills. Cook out time was a great way to meet people and enjoy the social hour.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The view is gorgeous, the condo and property are kept extremely clean and up to date. Great proximity to a lot of cool areas. Highly recommend!

We spent 6 nights at this condo and loved everything about it. It is nicely appointed, in a great location, and sunsets are amazing. The complex is immaculate and seems to be run by a group of folks who really care about their guests. Highly recommend!

The location was perfect. Close to everything you need and want. The condo, although a little small, was comfortable, clean, and cozy. We loved just listening to the ocean. The phone app gave us the wrong code for the pool and no code for the condo door. This was taken care of at the front desk when we checked in. We would definitely come back the Sugar Beach Resort.

Overall things were really great with Vicky's property (#427) itself. It was well stocked with items, cleanliness was great. Vicky answered our questions promptly before we booked the property. The only minor problem was that the boogie board was damaged (small bend through the center which caused it to not be fully firm). The property looked a little larger online than it actually was - possibly because of the mirrors in the living room. Overall no complaints about the property itself. There were problems with check-in. I was new to renting condos and I thought there will be staff onsite to check us in. Unfortunately there was nobody there. I didn't reach the property until 10:30pm because my flight landed late. Nobody had sent me an email beforehand explaining how the check-in works or to provide me with the access code to get into the condo. I had to call the after hours emergency number and leave a message and then somebody got back to me and provided me the code to get into the property. The other problem was with the onsite manager providing me with the wrong code to enter the pool area. They provided me with 2 codes saying one was before the change and the other after the change (that was going to happen in a day or so). That night, none of them worked (and the office was closed when that happened). I would not have been able to get into the pool if not for one nice renter who let us in. Overall the property was great, location was excellent. However the people who were responsible for communicating the check-in procedure and the code messed things up.
