The house exactly as it was represented and very well stocked. The neighbors were friendly and quiet and the owners could not have been more helpful. We loved the views of the ocean and the sun/moon rise and set. It was perfect!

Overall, we really enjoyed the stay at Zanadu East.
Pros: The unit had updated kitchen with ample pots, pans and even a knife sharpener! Updated living room area furniture and more than ample deck chairs. We most enjoyed sitting on the deck in the mornings with our coffee and seeing an unobstructed 180 degree view of the ocean! During the day, there was a 50' walk from the steps and we were on the beach!
Cons - The master bedroom had a musty odor but we found a damp mop in the corner and moved it outside. Also, the full bath shower on the bottom floor was mostly unusable for us as it was very small, water leaked and considerable mold. However, none of these issues took anything away from us enjoying our stay as there was another bathroom down the hall with a tub/shower.

The title says it all! The kitchen and bedrooms are fully loaded. The property managers were quick to respond to our question. The views from the decks and kitchen were gorgeous and relaxing. Great place! Highly recommended and definitely would return.

Very nice beach house with all accommodations. Owner was prompt with communications. Clean, good layout, everything you need on a pristine beach. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful beach access and gorgeous views from the deck and porch. Gates were helpful keeping children in check.

We have been doing beach vacations as a family for years and this was one of our most favorite places to stay. The house was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed. There were so many extras provided - beach chairs, towels, boogie boards, too many to list! Tony was easy to communicate with and check in was very easy. The views from the decks were amazing and we even spotted dolphin one evening. We had a wonderful time!

The property was great! Beachfront with access from the house was the best for our family vacation. The bedrooms were decently sized and tastefully decorated. I did have to contact the owner about a window and he responded almost immediately. Will definitely keep this property on the "book again" list!

Wow! We arrived after our daughters ECU graduation and were thrilled with the ocean view and open concept kitchen/living room. 2 bedrooms have ocean views and we heard the soothing ocean as we slept. Serenity at its best! The deck was so peaceful too!!

This was my fourth vacation in Emerald Isle. All were at four different homes. By far, this Xanadu East home was my favorite. It is a beautiful and well appointed home. I met Tony, one of the owners, who was easy to talk with and displayed respectful communication.

This is our third year in row staying here. The ocean at the back door keeps calling us back. So glad we found this place! No high rise hotels flooding the beach. Clean, comfortable and beautiful. Plan on coming back next year.

My husband and I, our two sons, one son's girlfriend, and our two dogs had a wonderful week at this property. The "kids" had to work a bit remotely, and everyone was able to have their necessary zoom meetings and classes. We loved being right on the beach. With the dogs, we appreciated the gates on the decks that kept them corralled and safe. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well equipped, and everyone had plenty of space. We would return.

The property is spacious and well-appointed and the location is, quite simply, perfect! We loved the quiet residential street and its distance from the traffic and bustle of "town" while also being centrally situated between the fishing, shopping and restaurants of Emerald Isle and Atlantic Beach. The reverse floor plan was a big hit with the family, as it offered privacy as well as fantastic views and easy beach access from every part of the house. We appreciated the well-stocked kitchen and the fact that basic necessities like paper towels, trash bags and toilet paper were provided. When we had a question, Tony was accessible and responsive. We loved our stay so much we have already booked for next year! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

We loved how close to the beach this house was. It was just a short walk to the ocean. The views from the deck were magnificent. We were able to relax and have an enjoyable week with our friends!

There is nothing like watching the beauty and power of the sea! We had a fantastic stay at Xanadu and Tony was great and easily accessible to answer questions. We have already booked our next trip there!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and hope to return! The location couldn't be more convenient, and an added bonus was having beach chairs, an umbrella, and boogie boards available for use. We loved having our coffee and cocktails daily out on the deck. Highly recommend!

Well taken care of property. Clean and no animal smells. Just about everything you could ask for. Loved being so close to the ocean and hearing it. Plenty of books to read and games to play, if the weather was rainy, which it wasn't. Every day was a beach day and we loved it!! A big thank you to Doug and Johanna.

This was our third time staying at Xanadu East and it never disappoints. The house is perfect for our family and the location can't be beat. We had a lovely stay and are looking forward to staying again.

Everything went smoothly from booking, payments, and communication! This is our second time staying at Xanadu and definitely will return! When we weren't at the beach we spent alot of time on the decks drinking coffee, eating dinner, then at night just listening to the waves and star gazing. Xanadu is a great place to unwind and relax! The house was clean and ready for us when we arrived and it was great a bonus we didn't have to worry about umbrellas and chairs since they were provided! Tony and Johanna truly have a gem of a place and we are so grateful that we got to stay there for our family vacation!

Best location, beach right at you feet. Fully stocked kitchen. Plenty of beach chairs available. Gas and charcoal grills available. We used the gas grills as it was windy while we were there. Best views and sounds of the ocean!!! This is a vacation my family will take again. Owners were easy to get a hold of for questions.

Xanadu East is located in a great part of Emerald Isle if you just want to enjoy the beach and nothing else (not that things to do are far away). The beach is right outside the door and the location is not crowded.
The house itself is nice (maybe seen better days but it is a beach house so that's pretty typical) with two awesome porches overlooking the beach and an open floor plan on the main living area. The house is also the most well-stocked beach house I've stayed at so I really appreciate that.
We had some water issues (completely out of their control) but Tony was extremely communicative and it did not affect us in the slightest.
I would absolutely stay here again.

Much needed vacation
Our family of 6 adults, 1 toddler and 1 dog enjoyed our stay at this great house. It has everything you could possibly need for a vacation get away. We loved sitting out on the upper deck at the end of the day watching the sunsets.

Sitting on the deck watching the ocean is just one thing we love about Xanadu East. The kitchen is well appointed and the beds and furniture are comfortable. The views are great, and there is everything you need for a fun family vacation at the beach.

Perfect Location
Family of 4 - adults and 2 colleges kids. The duplex is perfect location. We spent the majority of our week on the top deck looking at the ocean. Place was clean and kitchen well

The location makes for easy trips to Morehead/Beaufort or Swansboro - all with things to do and see. Access to the ocean is breathtaking - see both sunrise and sunset from your porch. House is very well equipped and comfortable.

attention.
