Stay was great- location was excellent. The property manager was very responsive and immediately assisted with any minimal issues. All over beautiful vacation! Will be back for sure.

Unable to have the jets in hot tub and had trouble with heating pool and hot tub. The elevator was broken. We have a man with Parkinsons disease. He needed the elevator and your advertisement listing you had one is the reason we choose your home.

Our family of 18 met from several different states to enjoy a week together at Cake by the Ocean. The owner was amazing to work with and answered any questions we had prior to booking. The location of the home was perfect, especially for my dad who is ill but still managed to make it down to the beach with us several days. The home is beautifully decorated and included little details we appreciated like labeled light switches, etc. We informed the owner of one small detail like a leaking faucet and he had someone there to fix it within hours. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and hope to book with Chuck again in the future if he will have us back.

Grandparent. Parents, teenagers and younger kids. All agreed we chose a great house for our family reunion. There was enough space for individual family privacy and great space for all to congregate. The beach was steps away and conveniently located. A fun time was had by all!

Location, Location! This could not be at any better location. Steps away from the beach. Fun for all ages, nice pool for evening fun. Host was attentive anytime we needed anything. Beautiful beach views.

We all had a great time here! Perfect location and the home itself is spectacular! Perfect for families and get aways with friends! Home could use some handyman touches though - some wear and tear beginning to show (doors/windows difficult for kids to open, showers draining slowly, dishwasher needs repair or replacement, coffee-maker took some cuddling to make work, etc). Overall a great property!

This was our 6th time to the Destin/ fort Walton beach area. The house was great, we had 19 people staying there in total ages ranging from 2-69 there was tons of space for us all. The kitchen was our biggest question mark with having to prepare food for so many and it’s much larger then the pics give it credit. The outdoor spaces were great with plenty of seating for all. The wading pool was a hit with the smaller kids and the bigger ones enjoyed the hot tub and swimming pool a lot. We contacted the property manager with a few questions and she responded very quickly. It has a great location in Destin very close to just about everything. Would highly recommend and we would definitely look for it again when planning our yearly trip to Destin.

Great property with perfect location and amenities. The communication with the owner and manager was excellent. We had four kids with us and they really enjoyed the pool. The access to the beach is within walking distance and the views are breathtaking. Cleaning could've been improved a little, bathrooms were dusty and the bed lining smelled dirty, we had to wash them, but other than that everything was good.

This is the first time I have ever left a review for anything. this house was perfect. The location was perfect! The beach across from the property was great for the babies that enjoyed the small sandbars and wading pools they created. The house had plenty of room for everyone to enjoy a comfortable bed. The kitchen and living room was amazing with beautiful views of the ocean. we would open the sliding doors and enjoy our lunch and breakfast every day. I cannot say enough about this home. I can not wait to come back next year.

The house was decorated so nicely. The rooms were all spacious and the view from the decks were wondeful. Location wise I couldnt have asked for better! There was absolutely nothing blocking our views from the decks. For the Cons: the house wasn’t thourougly 5 star cleaned. First night we killed biggest bug/ cockroach. There were alot of gnats also in the house. The third deck bedroom also had roach. I think the house needs to be fumigated. The lower level inlaw suite had some type of wormy thing on one of the pillows. The out door area at night had the most awful sounding frogs. Not sure if it was mating season or what but they were so loud all night long. It seemed to only affecting this house. We decided to grill one day and unfortunately a rat came runnning on the second deck. It very well couldve been a beach rat but it definitely wasnt welcomed. All our stay was good but the bugs and frogs definitely didnt. Also there isnt a pool table but there is a foosball table. The sound system couldve been a great added touch but was a headache to work. We had a broken grill that was replaced as soon as we called but it wasnt fully put together but we figured it out. The property needs a manual, and better cleaning.

Outstanding property and host! We had a large group of all ages. Everyone loved the home. My 83 year old mother loved the elevator. The pool was phenomenal. Location could not have been better. Chuck was very helpful with any questions and always available. The beach was clean and only steps away. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment and allowed us to cook for our group. Extremely clean on arrival. Great views. Safe neighborhood and used workout center and tennis courts. Very pleased!!

This property is very beautiful and was just wonderful. The decorations were just beautiful. The pools were great for the kids, because we had about 3 days of rain and couldn’t go to the beach. Also because we had double red flags. We cooked a lot of meals at the house which had an adequately furnished kitchen. Lots of bedrooms Everyone enjoyed there stay very much... we had a total of 28 people. We had a couple small issues that were taken can of immediately. Overall great vacation.

Terrific house with all the amenities. Wonderful location literally on the crosswalk to the beach. Amazing pool and hot tub (with paying for it to be heated if you go before the heat really comes).

We had a great time. Easily walked across street to beach-even with my 88 yr old mom. Beach very close. Pools and hot tub amazing!!!! Kitchen and porches great for meals and coffee!!! Can’t say enough nice things! Highly recommend.

There is an elevator but we did not use it (it may be good for those with a lot of luggage!). There is a lot of room to store food and beverages. Kitchen is fully stocked with plenty of plates and glasses for a big group meal.The pool area is very relaxing! The hot tub was our favorite spot in the evenings. The outside patio areas are well furnished with shade if you need it. There is a grill as well.The high school kids liked the fact that they could walk or bike to meet up with their friends (there are several golf cart rentals nearby, but we did not see the need).Biggest pain in the rump is that the bridge between Pensacola and Destin was down so you have to take a detour from Pensacola airport to the house (though you can fly into Destin - we were just too late booking!).

The property and home were absolutely breathtaking and incredible. It is located right across the street from the ocean which was the absolute perfect location. The beaches in Destin have beautiful white sand and are incredibly clean. We cooked most of our meals in the excellent kitchen, but the house is also located very close to a variety of restaurants! (The Crab Trap was DELICIOUS!) Chuck (owner) and Robin (property manager) were attentive and always quick to respond and help us when needed. We had a few things we needed assistance with and they were eager and willing to help in a timely manner, which we all greatly appreciated! The beds were SO COMFY! Best sleep I have ever had. There is plenty of furniture on every outdoor level of the house which made hanging out outside very comfortable. We spent the majority of our time in the outdoor areas. The pool and hot tub were amazing. The kiddie pool was an added bonus as we had a four year old and one year old with us that LOVED the kiddie pool. It was the absolute ideal set up for a family vacation home. We hope to definitely return in the future!

I once owned this home10+ years ago, and it was a delight to return and see that it's even more beautiful than when I sold it! The location is perfect for a family group like ours----5 adults, a 5 year old, and a dog. All areas are beautifully furnished and the views from the 3 spacious decks are exquisite. Given that we were being extra careful with the pandemic, the heated pool and spa were a fantastic asset to keep us entertained onsite, with of course the white sandy beaches and blue green Gulf waters an easy walk across the cross-walk in front of the house. We had some rather minor cleaning issues shortly after arrival, but Chuck (the owner) was quick to get these remedied promptly and satisfactorily. I would highly recommend the property.

The property was as described. Clean, great kitchen. Multi level outdoor spaces were nice and access to the beach and close by restaurant were big plusses.

When we left we noted to the property owner of various small things needed attention...light not working, drains slow, wall plates missing on outlets and some outlets not working. but as i said earlier, overall we were very please with the property.

I was impressed with personal communication with owner, Chuck..especially because Novid 19 scare. He offered suggestions and options but in the end our family decided to traveled to Destine, FL...We were happy with the house, the number of bedrooms and the wonderful pool area, & walking distance to Crab Trap restaurant ... That pool area was the best we had in a rental ! We would go back!! Family from WI

We have been coming to Destin for 10 years. By far my family loved this house the best The covered patio areas was nice and the pool and hot tub was phenomenal. The beach access was easy and just a few steps away. The owner Mr Barone was always available to speak with me personally. Almost felt like I knew him personally. Super great guy. We will definitely return.

Property was as described, plenty of space, great location to beach and dinning property is top notch, and we would choose to stay again.

My family and I had the very best time at Cake by the ocean. The picture are okay but they house is breath taking and is everything the pictures said and sooooooooo much more. Chuck and his crew were ready for us and we had to check in early which was no problem at all. The place was spotless. The views on every single floor were picture perfect. The ocean sounds put you to sleep and super relaxing. We had 12 adults and 7 children under 7 and was so much space we were never feeling cramped. The pool was warm and very enjoyable, the kids played for hours and hours. So many places to eat on the lower deck, middle deck and the massive dining room. We cooked every night with that many folks and 3-4 people in the kitchen was never to tight for space. The beds were the best. Super comfortable and smelled nice and fresh. The AC works amazing and kept the entire house super cold. We will definitely return next year. Thank you so much for allowing us to enjoy your home

The house was nice but there a few issues with the property that made our stay less comfortable. When we arrived the owners vehicle was parked in the driveway blocking parking that we needed. We also had to move furniture ourselves around in the garage to be able to fit any cars in the 2 car garage. One of the 4 bedrooms on the 1st floor did not have any vents from the heating or cooling system. There was a wall unit that did not emit any heat at all so the room was freezing at night. The half bath on the 2nd level wasn’t in good working condition from the beginning. When I arrived and walked up the steps I heard the toilet running. I jiggled the handle and it stopped but as we used it that first day, it wouldn’t flush and we were having to pour water into the tank to flush it. Also we discovered that there was a grey mouse living on the 2nd floor deck! He would come out I guess looking for food so that cut down on our use of the outside patio space for sure bc several of my family members were afraid and disgusted. I contacted the owner the next day about all of these complaints and he said that the he leaves the truck parked there and no one local had keys to move it. He doesn’t have a local maintenance person to assist with any issues. He told me that he could walk me through any repairs that needed to be done, which I declined. We just decided to not use the half bathroom for the remainder of our stay. When I told him about the mouse he told me that he couldn’t do anything about it and as long as it’s outside we shouldn’t be worried about it. I know he knew that there was a rodent problem before I made him aware of it bc there was rat poison under the cabinet in the laundry room and there was mouse poop in the drawers in the 3rd floor bar area.I was flabbergasted that he didn’t see any issue with the rodent living on his rental property or that he wasn’t trying to rectify the problem AT ALL! He said that a hawk may swoop down and get it. At that point I realized that he wasn’t worried about rectifying any of the issues we had until he came down the Florida himself to do the repairs, which was not going to be during our stay. The owner was a really nice guy, he just didn’t have enough local resources for his renters.
