Great breakfast, welcome and accommodation!

Rose was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. She makes a lovely full English breakfast and there are lots of great choices of fruit, cereal and yoghurt options.

While we had a lovely stay, we felt it was quite expensive for the standard of the accommodation. There are some small hotels in the area that are a bit cheaper and modern. But Rose certainly adds a positive and personal touch to the property that you would not get at a hotel.

We had a lovely stay in Melrose Cottage. Rose was extremely welcoming and helpful and the breakfast was amazing! Having tea and coffee in the room was a nice touch.

The location was a little out of town so it was a bit of a walk to get there.

Not sure how you could improve on it

Melrose Cottage was a great place to stay whilst cycling King Alfred’s Way. I was able to securely store my bicycle in the garage. Location was great and I was able to conveniently walk into town and to the shop. Was nice having the ceiling fan in room to help keep it cool. Rose was very helpful and provided a lovely breakfast.

Rose was so welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. Our bikes were safely stored and charged in the garage. After a good nights sleep, breakfast was delicious and plenty of choice for all tastes. Would definitely return. Thank you.

Fantastical Breakfast and a very nice landlady. The room was pleasant and the suroundings were quiet.

Rose the host was very helpful and friendly. The garden was gorgeous and very lovely to sit out in the evening sunshine. Breakfast was excellent and cooked perfectly.

We needed an overnight stay in Goring as we were attending a wedding in the area. Rose was very accomodating we were able to check in before the wedding. Our double room at the back of the house overlooking the garden was comfortable with a good ensuite shower room. Asked to make our choices the evening before and what time we would like breakfast it was freshly prepared and served with care. Thank you
