This was once a nice family home but now needs a total renovation to justify the amount charged for this property. We have rented VRBO properties all over the world at these rates and all have been as expected. This house is in disrepair, dirty pool and unkempt property complete with a large pile of garbage, soil, broken bottles all dumped at front entry. The owner was informed from the first moment of arrival but sadly only acknowledged pool deficiency. It seems the owners do not live nearby and are unaware of the state it is in. Our family from Germany, that were visiting for a special occasion, were disappointed as were we. Take it off this site and do some needed work.

5 couples, wine country, had a great time!

Three couples who met in university many years ago, get together annually to explore various areas. The property was good, everyone had a good time. Unfortunately, the dishwasher wasn't working, but the manager attempted to have it fixed, but couldn't get a service person in before or while we were there. It also seemed that the pool is leaking as the level went down about 4" in the few days we were there. Overall, we were happy with the stay and would come again.

Overall we enjoyed our stay but found that the house needs some upkeep and care. Pros: Great location, nice pool, lots of space, plenty of plates and towels for guest use, excellent view and AC was a definite plus. Cons: Place was very dirty, smoke alarm doesn't work, very dated interior, things were falling apart (dishwasher, fridge, room doors), leftover things from previous tenants everywhere and rooms were very dark. The place has good bones just needs to improve lighting using ceiling mounted lights in dark rooms, get rid of leftover items and food from previous guests, get a smoke alarm in kitchen, deep clean the entire place before each booking and update interiors for some of the older rooms (upstairs bathrooms and kitchen)

We were a family group of 9 adults. The house was a perfect fit for our group. There was plenty of space with ample bedrooms and two living rooms which allowed us all to be together but also provided opportunities for quieter times. The view was spectacular and the large deck and pool were an added bonus. The kitchen was well-equipped for us to cook our own meals. The location was great, giving us a base from which to cycle, hike, golf and, of course, sample the excellent wineries. We would highly recommend this accommodation and hope to return.

Just got back from an extended weekend stay here with some girlfriends. We had a fantastic time! The pool was so great during the day and the house was perfect for what we needed. Other than wineries and a distillery trip we rarely left the property. It was the perfect set up for our time there. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Karen and Brook were both quick to answer any questions we had. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a great time staying in this lovely vacation home! It was perfectly suitable for our group which included a mix of adults and young children. The location was great, and the pool was awesome! Thank you Karen, we will be back next summer!!

Overall, we had a great time due to the location of this property and the general Naramata area (there was a lot of fun stuff to do). There are some concerns that I'd like to leave in this review though. First off, communication from the owner/property manager was poor. I got a message with a house rule (in from the pool by 11) and then radio silence. We got to Naramata a bit early so I messaged the property owner through VRBO about a possible early check in and got no response. As such, we waited outside the property until 4pm to check in with the code provided by the listing. The code did not work, so I called the number on the listing and a confused man answered letting me know he no longer manages this property. I asked him if he could provide the number of the owner as his was the only number on the listing and he was kind enough to do so. I am honestly not sure what we would have done if he hadn't provided Karen's number as the code had changed from the one on the listing and we wouldn't have been able to access the house if he hadn't answered, and in turn, if Karen hadn't answered my phone call asking how to get in. The next glaring issue was cleanliness. It seemed as though the home had not been cleaned in a while. In fact, there was a note welcoming "Hayley and Guests" with some local beer/wine/crackers/cheese. Around the note, there was a bottle of wine and two beer cans. I'm not sure how long ago Hayley and guests had stayed but it made us feel as though the house may not have been cleaned since their reservation. The bedding/towels/amenities were abundant so that was a clear positive but again, the floors, walls, surfaces and couches were dirty and we did not feel comfortable using some of the spaces. The dishes also had stains and were not clean, we hand washed most and also ran the dishwasher to ensure cleanliness. We also wanted to do a bit of laundry after spending time in the pool and the dryer vent had likely not been cleaned for months - this is a major fire hazard. The area around the pool, though, was very clean. We spent a lot of time outside on the patio and around the pool as a result of the cleanliness issue inside. There are also a lot of spiders, ants and other critters inside the house (2 of which were on our beds). We realize due to the area, this was a possibility but the windows did not feel secure to ensure that critters didn't get inside. Again, overall - the location was beautiful and the pool was great.

Nice little escape! Close to all the Naramata wineries!

We had seven family members from BC, Alberta and Manitoba gather here for a wonderful week. The house was very spacious and clean. The grounds were very pretty. The weather cooperated the entire week until the smoke from the U.S. fires moved in on our last day. The pool was beautiful but omg it was so cold. Too cold even for my husband who enjoys a 'refreshing ' dip. If the pool was heated this vacation rental would be a '10'!

Had a great stay at Karen's house while visiting Naramata and Penticton for a wedding. When not busy we enjoyed the lovely pool, scrumping apples and a couple of the local wineries. Karen was quick to respond, the house is well equipped for a family stay.

Great location to wine tour from and bicycle the rail trail. Perfect for 10 of us ;) everyone had a bed and the living room and dining room were large enough for all of us to enjoy. The pool was super cold, refreshing after a bike ride...but would have like it to be a little warmer. I dont think it’s heated. This is the first place we have stayed that was larger and more roomy than it appeared. The views are spectacular and the decks and grounds are perfect for entertaining. Thank you for a nice easy place to have our annual wine tour group. cheers!

This property was perfect for our family holiday! Everything went great from start to finish. Karen was easy to communicate with and responsive to my messages and questions prior to our stay. The property manager, John, was punctual, very nice, great to deal with, and he did a great job showing us around the property upon check in. He too was responsive when I had a question, and he also followed up later in the week to make sure we were enjoying our stay. The property itself is exactly what was promised, clean, functional, spacious, and it met our needs perfectly. Of course, the pool was the highlight for everyone! If our family ventures back to Naramata in the future, we would definitely look into staying here again. Thanks to Karen and John for facilitating a memorable holiday!

We stayed at the Arawana Rd property in August 2019 for a week with our three children and friends who also have three children. The house is very spacious and everyone had somewhere comfortable to sleep as well as sufficient room to spread out. The air conditioning works, better on the main floor than upstairs, however fans are provided in the bedrooms in the event it is hot upstairs. The private pool is absolutely amazing for a summer vacation. It is large, clean, heated (just the right amount to still be refreshing when the temperature was 35 degrees C) and well maintained. We also appreciated the safety feature being a gate which locks so that we did not have to worry about the kids entering the pool area on their own. The large patio is great for dining and offers lovely views during the day and a chance to sit under the stars in the evening. The location was perfect with easy access to Robinson Ave in Naramata, parking lots for KVR trailheads and a short drive to Penticton. The only areas for improvement worth mentioning are the kitchen (counters, backsplash & cooktop) could use some updating as they appear to be original from the 70’s and cause the kitchen to have a slight odour (should be noted that some in our group did not even notice to this is only applicable for those with a sensitive nose). I did appreciate that where updates to the kitchen have been done (fridge, dishwasher, coffee maker), they haven’t scrimped. The garage is mostly filled with the owner’s items, so while there was room to store our bikes overnight, our vehicles remained parked outside. This was not an issue at all, just worth noting. Overall I would recommend this property largely based on location, pool and patio! The owner and property manager are very responsive and helpful as well!

We enjoyed the stunning views, fresh cherries and great location. Lots of room for everyone and John the property manager was very helpful and willing to go the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable.

My girlfriends and I rented this house and it was absolutely perfect. There were 10 of us and we were more than comfortable. The house is in great condition and very well maintained and the grounds are lovely, lots of space to be outside with the huge deck and pool. The location worked great for us; there is a Distillery down the road with a fabulous restaurant, a hike to a waterfall and a couple wineries all within walking distance. John the caretaker was super helpful and available for anything we needed. I would rent this property again in a heartbeat.

First impressions were as advertised, a large older Tudor style home on the bench. Walking into the back yard... different story. Pool deck was covered with weeds, tarps and the EMPTY pool had a few inches of slime green water. NO NOTICE from the homeowner the pool liner had failed in the WINTER. The on-site caretaker seemed to assume we were told in advance (No contact whatsoever)? We were then advised that he had been trying to source a pool company to attend and measure for a replacement liner. The Homeowner first responded she was unaware the pool hadn't been "fixed", then apologized and offered a "discount" as it was out of her control. We tried to leave and book elsewhere, without success (a 5 bedroom with a pool, same day on the bench). Backyard is overrun with weeds, a tarp full of rotten lawn clippings in the front flower garden (lawn). Glassware, flatware and utensils look like a $30.00 trip to the second hand store. This rental was booked 9 months in advance, for our 25th anniversary. Tragic outcome. Categorically, this homeowner valued the rental income over honesty and transparency. A little bit of honesty in the spring could have allowed us the opportunity to book elsewhere, Problem solved and weekend saved. I would not trust anything the homeowner posts on the listing. Period.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The scenery is beautiful and it’s a quiet area. There’s a hiking trail a short distance away that is beautiful as well. John was very helpful and friendly when we arrived. Lots of rooms and space in the home!

Loved the location, beautiful property with your own fruit trees and pool. Beautiful view of the lake. Close to many great wineries and Penticton! The house had everything you needed for cooking. It was very clean and cozy! We look forward to coming back to Naramata one day soon!

Thanks for a wonderful stay! Our group of families had all of our needs met. Spacious rooms, extra room for kids to have slumber party every night! TV in all bedrooms, good AC and attentive caretaker. Check with John to set up shuttle for winery tours or just walk to a few....not to mention the distillery a few steps down the road with awesome cocktails and lunch snacks. Very clean and fully stocked vacation house close to walking trails and short drive to beach. House could use some updates (shag carpet upstairs, small closed off kitchen) but hardly a bother considering the over-delivery of location, view, space, household items, caretaker service and pool. Oh, they do need more shade options around the pool deck, luckily we had a couple of our own beach umbrellas to add on. Would recommend this property to anyone.

It was the perfect place for our family reunion with wonderful hospitality and beautiful surroundings.
