Property description is accurate. It fronts on a sandy access road right behind the primary dune, with the beach access walkway very close. Although you can't see the ocean you can hear it clearly, and the view from the deck is a nice mix of green from the landscaping and then the primary dune with it's vegetation. The landscaping gives a nice bit of privacy when on the deck. Great spot for morning coffee. The beach chairs provided by the property were much appreciated, and the front deck is a nice place to lay out in the sun if it's too chilly for laying out on the beach. Overall the house felt very clean and had a good selection of basics to get you through if you can't get to the store immediately. Great location for biking into downtown and the state park.

We had a wonderfully peaceful weekend preparing for my wedding at Pogos Kitchen. Everything was perfect. The atmostphere it was clean, the toiletries, the washer dryer and supplies. It really felt like a home away from home and everyone was so friendly. It was the cherry on top to a special weekend

Perfect location, easy access to the beach. Everything looked just like the photos. It’s off the main road so you have some privacy as well. Loved everything about it!!

Perfect little beach house!

Very relaxing and quiet, even on 4th of July weekend! Short walk on the board walk over the dunes made for great spontaneous barefoot trips to the beach. We loved the location.

My husband, 3 children, and mother-in-law were very comfortable during our stay. The cottage is beautifully decorated and was filed with every detail needed for a relaxing stay at the beach. I highly recommend and would stay again!

The only disadvantage is you can’t see the ocean from the house because of the sand dunes but the house was wonderful and access to the beach and downtown was great!

#ameliaislandvacations Super disappointed! The beach was under renovation and no one communicated this to us nor posted updated listing photos!! We were not notified that the beach renovation was occurring even though according to locals and the newspaper this has been going on for quite some time!! And the work was going on primarily at night time which was loud and disruptive. The rental agency was apologetic but still only refunded a minuscule amount not even equal to the amount of the service fee charged. And not one person from the rental agency has reached out knowing we were not satisfied. We were taken advantage of because the pictures were very misleading and once you pay on VRBO you are committed till you arrive and see for your self. It is also ocean front, but that does not mean ocean view! All u can see is a giant sand dune! Very disappointed.

Location was great! Perfect size for our family of 5 + 2 fur babies. My questions were answered promptly by property management. Property was updated, clean and homey. Right across from beach!!!

We had a great long weekend with our grown children and grandson visiting our aunt and uncle who live nearby. It was a combined Thanksgiving and Christmas and long overdue reunion. We loved how easy it was to get to the beach. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and relaxed together like we were right at home. We hope to be back soon.

Front door light not working (hard to see key pad even though it was illuminated.. Smoke alarm in kitchen was removed-SAFETY!!!!! A/C return too loud! Had trouble sleeping in Master bedroom. But overall a nice stay.

This was a delightfully restored house on the beach and very comfortable with the added benefit of acceptance of pets.

My husband, myself and my daughters family enjoyed our week in the beach cottage. The location is perfect, just behind the dunes. Activities for everyone. Fort Clinch, sunset cruise, walking in historic Fernandina. Long beach walks with my grand daughter! More than any other impression we took with us was the wonderful people, Everyone we encountered was so pleasant and welcoming! This includes servers at resturants, store clerks and people on the beach. The historical museums in Fernandina are great especially for children. Hopefully this won't be our last trip and we would stay on Ocean Ave again.

Beautiful house and perfect location. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The only bad thing about this vacation was that it ended. We will definitely be back!!

We really enjoyed our stay at this beach house! It was a lovely home and just right across from the beach. We even got to see sea turtles hatch one night while we were there which was really cool! We also liked that we could walk right down the beach to a couple of different restaurants for drinks and food!

My family of eight thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cottage. The location, just over the sand dune and across the road, was perfect for early morning sunrises for my wife and I and shark teeth hunting for our younger children. The locals are warm and friendly, making the trip feel like our "home" for a week. The place is quaint, with few quirks, but nothing that you remember once you see the beach and spend the days outdoors. We would definitely stay here again!

Enjoyed our stay until 9 am on our last day full day when we answered the door and were told they would be replacing the a/c that day and that we would not have air and we would have workmen in and out all day. We were able to discuss and they decided to do the repair another day. If the property manager had told us there was an issue with the a/c during one of our previous conversations before check-in, we would have been happy to work with them regarding this. Not a great way to end an otherwise wonderful week.

The cottage was perfect for our week long beach getaway. The location is perfect, right on the beach. Everything was well stocked and clean. Couldn’t ask for anything more.

We were delighted to see the property and that there were some updates not pictured in the listing. The house had a new fresh look that is both beachy and cozy. We had all the amenities listed. There are pots and pans and dishes. Plenty of coffee cups. Some basic kitchen utensils. Plenty of linens and extra blankets. It's well decorated and spacious for 3 single ladies. I had the front room which has amazing sunrise views. The area has lots of nice beach houses. The beach was clean and quiet. The path makes it a quick trek. Definitely looking into staying again!
