Our family of six adults, one baby, and three small dogs had a wonderful time in this cozy cabin in the woods. They didn't spare one detail in the planning of this rental. EVERYTHING you could possibly need is there. We had plenty of room, beautiful views all the way around, and it was warm and toasty as we watched over 3 feet of snow fall in two days. Russ was great about checking in with us to see if we needed anything, and was prompt in getting the snow plowed so we could use the driveway. The location was close to the ski area, which was perfect so we could come back at lunch to eat in between morning and afternoon skiing. We had a lot of fun and would definitely stay here again!

The cabin was so homey and well equipped with everything we needed. My husband loved cooking on the black stone grill on the deck. My almost 80 year old parents stayed in the 1 upstairs main level bedroom. All other bedrooms are in the downstairs basement style floor. Be sure to bring soaps, shampoos. It was the perfect Christmas get away for our family and the hosts were very helpful.

We have rented many VRBO‘s but this was by far our favorite. Absolute perfection. Everything we needed and more. Russell went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed.

This property is truly gorgeous! Everything about its design and amenities were set up to be an ideal relaxation spot. We had family meet us and all ages in our group found the house perfectly met their needs. By far the porch was our favorite place to melt away ours together. Russell and his wife were the perfect hosts and very responsive to any needs or questions. This has been my favorite home thus far I have stayed at. Truly felt like home.

This was our second time to rent this amazing house. There is plenty of room for 3 families, and the outside deck is the best part of the house. If you are lucky enough to rent this property, you will not be disappointed!

We had an absolutely wonderful time. The cabin was clean and accurate to description. Any questions we had were promptly answered. Our dogs didn’t want to leave lol. When we go back to Angel Fire we will definitely be looking at the Lazy Dog Ranch to stay at again. One of the best places I’ve found to stay at.

This place has everything you need! There was enough room for 4 families. We had a great time and really enjoyed the 24” of snow we got when there. Perfect location also! Be sure to prepare the best you can for the high altitude!! Michelle

This cabin is not only cozy, spacious and beautiful but my kids also loved seeing the deer come right up to the back patio! The beds and furniture are very comfortable and we will definitely book here again! The owner was quick to reply when I had a question and super friendly! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COZY CABIN!

Great place to stay for family ski vacation. Kitchen was well-supplied with everything we needed. Four kids and their parents had plenty of room to sprawl out and there was enough privacy for the grandparents in a separate bedroom. Beautiful setting nestled on the hillside. Quiet, warm and safe.

We have stayed at several other vacation houses in the Angel Fire area and this house tops our list! It had everything we needed and more. We will definitely be back!

Great area and great cabin. The owners were very accommodating. The place really was perfect. Getting there was easy despite getting 6 inches of snow. Would highly recommend this place!

Lazy Dog Lodge was perfect for our family ski trip to Angel Fire, it's only like 1.5 mile from the ski resort, 4 bedrooms were great for our grown kids and grandkids. It was spacious while having cozy areas like the living room and the wrap around porch with fire pit. The wild life came around all the time, felt like you were out in forest! Russell was always helpful with the entire process, even checked in with us because of bad weather to confirm everyone was ok.

We had a great time over new years. The cabin was the perfect size for 2 families plus grandma. The kitchen is very well stocked. The kids loved playing in the snow and we had deer visit several times. We did sledding at the country club several times with the sleds in the garage and tubing/skiing at the resort. We were worried about driving but show chains helped in the neighborhood and the main roads were well maintained.

Great house for a large group. You do need 4 wheel drive or chains in the winter. Kitchen had all you could need for preparation of meals. Clean, quiet and cozy. Would be great in the summer. Owner responded to all our questions. We highly recommend.

We feed deer everyday. From babies to bucks with beautiful horns. The kids loved that. The house had everything we needed. Only 8 minutes from nearest store or dinning if you didn’t want to cook. Had plenty of games for the kids to play. I will definitely rent again. Great getaway.

Lazy Dog Lodge is now our favorite place to stay in Angel Fire! The cabin had a perfect layout for families and pets. We had young kids and they even had a baby gate for the stairs. The wrap around porch and amenities were outstanding. Lots of wildlife and great location proximity to activities.

We enjoyed our stay at the Lazy Dog Lodge. The wrap around porch is great and the back patio was nice in the afternoon sun. Russell provided lots of great information about the cabin and area.

Beautiful cabin, the covered expansive deck with the fire pit was our favorite evening spot. The kitchen was well stocked to prepare any type of meal, even had an instant pot! The cabin would accommodate a large family easily. The host was very responsive and the outdoor setting was beautiful. Our stay was definitely five star and we would book again. V.B. Texico, NM

Great house and spectacular yard.

My family and I enjoyed several days of paradise thanks to Angel Fire and The Lazy Dog Lodge! This house is perfect for a large group. Very spacious! The kitchen has everything needed for cooking meals (and then more), the Black Stone grill is amazing, and the outdoor seating on the deck, along with the fire pit, makes it hard to leave. The wrap around deck is secured with gates which makes it safe for pets and children. The backyard has room to run around in, along with two hammocks. The dogs loved running and playing there. Wildlife is abundant. Mornings were spent watching the deer and chipmunks, listening to turkey and all sorts of birds. We could hear elk bugling and caught a glimpse of a coyote. The master bedroom is huge and comfortable with its own private deck. The downstairs has three big bedrooms which all share one bathroom. There is also a washer/dryer along with a sitting area to watch movies, read or play games. One whole wall is dedicated to shelves of games and movies! There is a 2 car garage, along with plenty of outdoor parking. We were in 3 vehicles and had plenty of room. Russell was very quick to answer our texts when we had questions and was so helpful. It was a wonderful stay!

Gathering place for family, grandparents to kids and grandkids. Space for dinner for 11, ncluding 5 sleeping at another house. Set back from road so watched many deer at close range. Very well supplied kitchen. Many games, legos, movies. Easy drive to mountain biking.

We had an amazing time! This is the cutest house. Very clean with updated appliances and the grill was top notch! The outdoor seating was great as we enjoyed eating on the patio for just about every meal. We can't wait to get back and will be staying here again. Highly recommend this place and the owners are amazing and so easy to communicate with. It was perfect!

We had a nice stay at the lodge. Russel was very communicative and friendly. We loved the property. Things were labeled and it was very clean. The easy stairs out the master were great for our old dog. No complaints.

My family of 4 stayed in this cabin for a week in June 2021. From the moment we walked onto the wraparound porch and stepped inside, we had fallen in love with it. It was exactly as advertised: perfect for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) but equally workable for a couple of families vacationing together. The kitchen is fully stocked with every gadget, pot, and pan you need, including appliances that look brand new (dishwasher, fridge, oven/range). The master bedroom is enormous, and the master bath has a long counter with 2 sinks and a shower with great water pressure. The other 3 bedrooms are downstairs in the basement; one has a large king bed and a chair, the other 2 (which are connected) each have a large bed and 2 twin bunks. There's a full bath downstairs, as well, plus a full-sized washer and dryer and tons of towels for outdoor use (even towels for your dog!). The main living area is a wide-open space (kitchen + dining room + living room) and includes a gas fireplace and TV with HDMI so we could plug in our Roku. There's also an enclosed sunporch with a nice desk; I had to work one morning of the trip, and this was an ideal space to sit on a call while still watching a variety of birds, a coyote, and nearly 2 dozen deer traverse the back yard. The external porch has some nice seating areas, a fire pit, and an outdoor grill. We spent as much time as possible sitting on the porch listening to the birds whistle and call to each other. Gates allow the porch to stay enclosed in case you have a dog with you. The cabin also comes with a pretty good selection of board games and a ton of family movies on DVD to keep the younger kids entertained while the adults enjoy some spiked cocoa upstairs! :) Russ, the owner, was extremely responsive and friendly. You can tell he and his wife have put a lot of love and care into this gorgeous cabin. I highly recommend it for either summer or ski season.

This is a great property and Russell was very accommodating with anything we needed. We would go back in a heart beat (and may go back in the summer!). The house was very comfortable, clean and quiet. We had never been to Angel Fire before and really enjoyed the area - given it's altitude and the opportunities for recreation, it would be a great place to go during the summer, when it's hot at lower elevations. This is a great house for a family getaway as you can enjoy nature and being "unplugged" in a very natural setting while having some amenities nearby. The property and owner were great.
