Good: Property is in a decent location in Kihei. The condo is spacious with one bedroom, a large family room, and a big loft with the second bed and full bathroom. It was comfortable for our family of six. Resort property is just average - tennis courts are decent (reservation system; racket rental $5 for adults, free for juniors); free tennis clinics; pool is very average and spas were not working properly for the entire week. Short walk to the Kamaole Beaches, which are decent beaches for snorkeling (not as nice as the many spots north of Kaanapali), but we did see turtles. Bad: This property is in real need of renovation. Seems clear that it is an investment property to squeeze out revenue and not return any of it into the upkeep of the property. The bathrooms were dirty and we needed to clean the tub and shower upstairs before we used them. Felt grimy every time you used them. The main bedroom had an off-putting odor that never went away. They have a sign on the wall that tells you to only turn on the A/C units, but not to adjust or you'll be open to all kinds of liability. You turn them on and the setting is at 80.... The third bed is a pullout couch and it was awful. We had a great time in Maui, but would not stay in this place again and can't recommend it, unless you only need a roof and some space. We would have gladly paid a little more for a different place.

We enjoyed our stay in Kamaole Sands. It was during spring break, so was busy and popular with families, which made for a fun environment.

We always enjoy Kamaole Sands condo complex in great location. Some updating needed but otherwise great place.

My family of 6 got to the resort 2 hours after check-in, and the house keeping/property manager was still cleaning the unit. The unit has only 1 reserve parking spot and she took the spot, leaving us to call resort to find another parking spot. The cleaning lady was very accommodating to make the unit work for us, but we texted about shampoo and dish soap, but no response. The unit has potential to be great, but the sleeper sofa is worn out that we did not want my boys to sleep in it. Extra foldable mat was available for one of my son to sleep. The other one had to share the king size bed with us. The beach equipment needs update. No shampoo or dish washing liquid to wash the dishes. Not all amenities in the unit was available from the listing. The resort has a nice pool and activities. The location is walking distance to the beach and the sun sets on the beach.

We really enjoyed our stay and everything was clean and nice! The grounds were kept up beautifully and the property was so pretty with a nice ocean view. Check in was super easy and all the staff were so friendly. The only complaint I had was that the condo was advertised as having air conditioning but we were only allowed to keep it at 80 degrees which made it hot in there sometimes. I also thought according to the pictures there were two beds in the one bedroom but there wasn’t. Overall we had a great experience and would stay there again!

We enjoyed our recent stay at this unit. One of the better units we have stayed at Kamaole Sands. Love the location of unit. You can view the sunset just outside of the unit.

Excellent location of this property within Kihei. This condo is in bldg 6 with gorgeous ocean views as well as perfect view and location to the pool. Very easy checkin. The condo is as pictured. Decorated with an island feel. Only slept in the master. King comfortable in the loft. Very hot when we were there. Did need to turn on a few fans for cooling. Had a problem with our toilet the first night. Sent a note to owners In the morning and it was managed extremely efficiently and quickly. By day two, there was a new toilet installed. We were very impressed to get tradespeople that fast and not have us inconvenienced. Would stay again for sure.

Our stay was super ! Great communication, amenities and organization. Everything was easy! A few issues arose but were dealt with simply and quickly. The host is experienced and it shows. The place had everything you needed and a super comfy bed! AC was perfect with fans to cool You down the extra touch. Enough space for 4 easily even 5 -6 could stay ! Great location and top floor was enjoyable, close to pool and beach access. Would be back easily. Thanks for our stay.

We had an amazing vacation here. There were 5 of us staying here. My 3 kids traded off between the bedroom downstairs with the bed and the couch in living room. They were comfortable on both! It was a great location in all aspects. Close to pool, beach and shopping. The balcony had a great view of the ocean and you could also see pool. The kitchen has plenty of dishes, pans, coffee, etc. we did use the bbq’s quite a bit, and they were great. There was a blow dryer and a flat iron in bathroom, which was great. The only toiletries in bathrooms were bars of soap that were for hands and body. Would recommend either bringing your own or plan on buying stuff there. My husband and I stayed in the loft. Comfortable bed, big bathroom as well. Plenty cool up there with the a/c mini split. Enjoyed every day we had there. The views from balcony are beautiful and serene.

This was our first trip to Maui and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. The location was perfect. Just across the street from the beach, walking distance to shops and restaurants and centrally located for driving around the island. It was a great fit for our family of 5. Would definitely stay here again.

Host provided detailed driving directions and check in instructions plus she contacted us a few days after arrival to ensure everything was ok. Would rent this place again for sure.

The unit was so well equipped and had all the comforts of home. There is a beautiful ocean view and the grounds in this complex are just amazing. We were so pleasantly surprised at what a great location this is. The beach is right across the street and lots of great restaurants in the area. Easy experience, beautiful grounds across from the beach. I think it was the condo mechanical room (locked) that loudly blew hot air directly on the lanai, most of the time. Very poor design (looks like all the condos were designed this way). This negatively impacted our experience, as we travelled a long distance to be able to sit outside.

Kamaole Sands is fantastic. We loved the proximity to the beaches and parks right across the street. We enjoyed the pools and the beautiful/tropical grounds, and absolutely loved the outstanding views right from the deck of this condo. Highly recommended! This unit is nicely decorated and in decent condition. A few things are certainly showing their age, but we were still pleased with the condo. Alyson is a terrific host; checking in along the way to ensure a terrific experience. She was very responsive and sincerely eager to address any issues and/or answer any questions. I would recommend this place to others and/or stay here again.

When we arrived after 12 hours of flying the AC nor the internet was working in the unit. Plus I never received check in instructions that Alyson claimed she emailed me so I didn’t where to park or how to get past the gate that Waze brought me to. The property manager came out the next day to confirm neither AC nor internet was working. It took them 3 days to get the AC working. It was extremely hot in the unit. I specifically chose this condo because of the 3 mini splits in the unit. Kamaole Sands is a huge complex so I’m not sure why it took them so long to come fix the issue. I was told they couldn’t get anyone out bc it’s the weekend and everyone works on island time. It took 2 days for the internet to work. I asked for some money back and I’m still waiting to hear on that. Alyson told me she has 2 weeks after I leave to determine if she wants to give me some money back. The AC only goes down to 72. So if you are looking to have it cooler you can not lower it past 72. 72 degrees was comfortable for us. When we first arrived it had to have been between 85-90 degrees for the 3 days until they fixed the AC which was unbearable. I asked to have a later check out due to all our internet and AC issues and was told no. It wasn’t a pleasant start or end to our vacation. I do not think we will be using vrbo again after this awful experience. I was hoping to get a partial refund so I could write a decent review by saying there was issues and I was compensated for them but I’m still waiting on that. The grounds were as shown and the sunsets were great from the balcony. The balcony had the Mini split compressors and you couldn’t sit out there long Bc the hot air from them was blowing in your face.
