We liked the village and walks and the location of the venue
The bathroom facilities were awful the shower was either boiling hot or cold and because they were both (toilet and shower) saniflow they were very noisy
The staff kept on asking what room we were in when we wanted to add drinks to our room bill, if we were not sitting at our designated table, this was unhelpful on the basis that people behind us could hear and maybe use this to pay their bill and given there was only three rooms and we were there for three night you would expect the staff to know our name particularly the person who checked us in

The staff were super friendly and helpful. Our room wasn't available on arrival so we were offered a drink whilst we waited.

All the meals we had were very good, and the choices were plentiful. The staff are wonderful. My wife enjoyed a Shiraz which she said was excellent. I had Black Sheep beer, also very well kept. The inn itself was first opened in 1743 and the walls are full of interesting photographs from its later years. Wonderful stay.
The room was a bit chilly, as the heating wasn’t on song.

Everything! The property is a perfect place for a hike, home made food, and a beautiful place to get away.

perfect just perfect ! Such a friendly team who couldn’t do enough for us. The chef even gave us a lift into Hathersage for our anniversary meal.

The George Inn is very close to the tourist information centre in Castleton, which is start os a number go great walks in the Peak District. The team very very friendly - great breakfast and offers good pub food in the evenings. The room was a nice size - thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Our second trip here had a Fantastic stay. The patio upstairs for guests is a real bonus. Loved the new pizza box. Look forward to our next visit
No plug socket near mirror to do hair. Maybe larger fans
