Not a good location for older visitors, very steep rough road and busy main road to cross. We had to take a taxi everywhere, luckily they were inexpensive. View was spectacular and pool was amazing.

Despite having good instructions on how to find it, we drove around in circles for about 20 minutes before we found the driveway that leads up to the building. The driveway is very rough and somewhat steep. Once at the top, we had to ring the bell for the guard to open the gate. The unit is okay inside but aging. We couldn't get some doors and windows to slide properly. We struggled with the AC. We were surprised that the steps to the pool lead right past the front window, diminishing any sense of privacy. The walk to the center of town was more than we expected as well. It was a good thing we had a car. Overall, we were disappointed after reading all the great reviews. The owners were very helpful and accommodating and I give them an extra star for that.

The property and view were exactly as shown on the site pictures. We loved having a balcony. The condo was very well equipped with coolers, ice packs, boogie boards, three beach chairs and lots of beach towels. This was very handy for our trips to the beach. The kitchen also had everything we needed. The pool area is really nice and has lots of comfy seating as well as shade! The beach was a little further from our condo than we had expected but still only about a 6-8 minute walk: down the steep driveway to the main road for 2-3 minutes, directly across the busy street then about a 3-5 minute walk down a dirt road. You can definitely walk into the town of Samara which is only about an 8-10 minute walk but be careful on the busy road as there's not much extra room for pedestrians. We usually drove in for dinner in the evenings. The restaurants in Samara were all very good - so much variety, reasonably priced - we are a family of four with 18 and 20 year old sons who eat tons and we were able to eat a great dinner with drinks for anywhere from about $50-80 US. The two toilets in the condo were not always reliable as the tank wouldn't always fill in order to flush so some jiggling of chains and pumping of other plumbing parts was needed - the on site security guy was always helpful. Plumbing in Costa Rica is a bit of an issue in many places so we didn't get too rattled about it. The air conditioner in the master bedroom didn't work consistently but again, the owners gave us a few tips to try; we had to turn it off for a day or so and let it thaw out and then it worked. Overall, we would recommend this accommodation for sure!
