We love staying at this beautiful cabin, seeing the incredible fall colors, getting in some great hikes and enjoying the cute little town of Banner Elk. Loved it

This is my favorite place to stay. Great location with warmth and comfort.

This cabin is in a convenient location, and has decent amenities. If your time there includes any weekdays through this summer, you need to be aware there are two houses under construction -- one is right outside the front door, the other is in the adjacent lot. Around 7am on our first morning there, we were awakened to the sounds of construction that were so close, I thought someone had come inside the house-- it was very alarming. It was the opposite of the quiet, peaceful getaway we were hoping for. Had we known about the construction, we would have stayed somewhere else since this was our anniversary and our first time away from our young child. Other than that, it has a nice view. The hot water heater doesn't hold enough water to fill the tub. Compared to other cabins we have stayed in around the area, the nicest part was being a very short drive to dinner in Banner Elk or Valle Crucis.

We loved the Elk River Cabin, it was so well equipped, clean, full of character in a beautiful setting. This cabin would be challenging for someone who has difficulty with stairs. We would definitely rent it again.

We were looking for a place to get away to the mountains for a weekend, and wow did this place impress. We will definitely be returning!

Super clean, beautiful decor, we'll stocked, this cabin had it all. We do VRBOs frequently, this was a unique gem. Views from deck, back glassed in porch, etc we're great.

This cabin is amazing and has everything you could ever need. The views are spectacular and feels secluded but very close to downtown Banner Elk. We hope to return again soon!!

Such a unique experience. This cabin made you feel like you were in the mountains but with great amenities! The stair case is super narrow and the ceilings were low (I'm tall) but the rest was great! Ms. Marsha was very responsive and helpful. My family and kids loved the house.

We had a wonderful time at this cabin. It was beautifully decorated and very clean. The location was easy to access and very close to town. The property manager was very responsive and helpful. I would highly recommend staying here and hope to visit again soon.

This property is beautiful, very well appointed, and comfortable. The owners put a lot of thought and effort into making a visitor enjoy their stay. One word of warning for something that was not described online - the stairs to both levels are very steep and narrow. Extremely. Anyone with mobility issues would have a very difficult time. We loved our stay - that is the only negative surprise. The porch and living room are cozy, the kitchen had almost anything you’d need, and the gas grill had propane. We didn’t use the sauna or jacuzzi, but both are a plus.

Charming cabin in the woods. Very very remote. No master on main. Steps are extreme narrow and steep. Great porch.

This is such a great cabin with amazing views, and a great location! Minutes from main street in Banner Elk, but it feels like you're totally secluded. There was more than enough room for our family of 4 and two dogs. The cabin is very clean, has everything you need and is so comfortable! Marsha was fantastic and was super responsive. Thanks for a fun, memorable family vacation. We can't wait to come back!

We had such a special time at the cabin during our stay. The kids loved the layout, the hot tub, the decor, and the attention to detail in this rental. I’d say it’s perfect and we would definitely rent again. Great directions, communication, cleanliness, etc. You can just tell that the owner has a passion and love for the mountains and sharing that with others. The unit is very quaint and cozy. It’s so close to everything yet you feel secluded. Only :5 to Sugar Mountain and the local dining spots in Banner Elk. I don’t think you could do better honestly! You can even crack the window and hear the River running!

Beautiful cabin, very cozy and comfortable. Loved the screened porch and views. Quiet area. Had lots of plans but when we got to the cabin we ditched all of them to stay in and enjoy the cabin.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at this property very much! Ideal location super close to the heart of Banner Elk, but still feels isolated like you want. The view is incredible, and the sound of the river below is relaxing. The cabin itself is beautiful and truly unique and eclectic. It’s really well stocked and super clean. My personal favorite part is the great fireplace, which I used all 3 nights of our stay. Highly recommend, and hope to come back! Gary A Tampa, FL

Fantastic experience at this mountain oasis! My husband and I love hiking the waterfalls of this area and this property was our absolute favorite. The view, location and the beautiful artistry and craftsmanship of the cabin are perfect for a mountain getaway. We will be back!

The cabin was every bit as secluded and rustic as described. The porch was a perfect space to relax and enjoy the cool air or play board games. The kitchen had everything you could want to cook meals there and the local restaurants delicious and accomodating. The location was perfect for accessing hiking and local attractions. WIll definitely stay at Elk Creek again!

Beautifully decorated and well maintained cabin within a stone’s throw of Banner Elk’s Main St. With three floors of room to roam, this cabin provided ample space to both relax and work. The lower level features a den with both a kids bunk/activity area plus a second master convenient for those not so stairs-inclined, both opening into a deck with great views, a hot tub, and sauna. The mid level features a well-stocked kitchen, family room with fireplace, and outdoor screened and windowed porch that can easily seat 8-10 and is hands down my favorite “room” of the house. The attention to detail from the hosts is impressive. Little touches like firewood bundles, a firestarter log and a spare propane tank, binoculars for bird watching on the porch, a stocked hot tub towel basket and extra children’s books on the lower are all nice surprises. This well thought out treatment for guests really helps this cabin stand out from so many other stays. The views are amazing of course, and unlike many stays this didn’t have us winding up and down gravel drives for 30 minutes off of a main road. It’s only a few hundred feet off of the beaten path making store runs far more convenient.

The cabin was perfectly located for what we wanted to do on this trip and has a great cozy feel to it. We would go out and hike all morning and then relax at the cabin in the later afternoons. The kitchen and porches were perfect for cooking in and eating outside enjoying the weather. Great stay.
