There were elk, deer, and turkey roaming about yet we were only 5 mins from the main strip, Soco Road. The view was fabulous sitting in the heart of the valley surrounded by the mountains. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The only thing I would mention is the beds upstairs were hard and our guest couldn't even sleep on one of them. I would suggest mattress toppers, and if your particular about pillows I would bring your own. Also, there is nowhere to store your trash outside and no local trash pickup. We had a truck with a bed cover and just stored it there until we left. I would suggest the property managers install a bear box so guests can store trash outside without worrying about critters getting into it. Overall, we were very pleased with this property.

It is a pricey gorgeous, high quality home with numerous wonderful amenities. Our only complaints are the lack of consistent WiFi (not acceptable in today's connected environment) and very poor quality mattresses on all the beds (especially the prime bedroom). The tiny mounted TV and sketchy Dish TV reception didn't really bother us much. Consider a small dining table on the patio and more comfortable deck furniture. Neither the grill or gas fireplace unit had propane in the tanks so were unusable. Overall, it is a beautiful and well appointed home!

Pictures do not do the cabin justice. It is a cozy, well appointed home with amazing views. The only drawback is little to no internet and no ability to watch television except in the living room. It was a minor inconvenience but all else was great!

The cabin was perfect, great views, nice interior and fully stocked kitchen. If you have kids this is the perfect place - the TV has a parental control set so that all channels are for 12 and under, but wait! that’s not all, from 1am-7am the cuckoo clock in the dining area will remind you just how much fun you are having

The view was beautiful and the place was very well maintained and clean. The pictures that are online really did match how the house looks. The only issue was the beds, all the beds were very hard and uncomfortable. It was also the first place I rented that did not have toliet paper, you have to bring your own.

Overall good. Issue s with the TV. Finally got it to work but station selection very limited Basically terrible !! It took calling again and again to get the property manager to respond. The rental office is always closed, they give you one phone number and they’re just not responsive

The rooms are perfectly decorated with a country style. Kitchen is well appointed with all we needed. Beds are comfortable. WiFi is slow but adequate and we were able to stream Netflix on the TV. Close to town and the Blue ridge Parkway. Asheville was about a 45 minute drive during rush hour.

Awesome cabin! Great location, clean, tons of room, and an awesome view. We had an excellent time staying here!

This property was a fantastic place to stay in Maggie valley. The towels and linens were new and plush. The views and location to other activities such as rafting, tubing, Waynesville, Cataloochee and exploring waterfalls was perfect. The cabin itself is beautifully decorated and a dream to stay in. We saw elk in the back yard and the fireflies lit up the sky at night. We do have a 4wd vehicle and we didn’t find the drive up treacherous in the least. It was very private and secluded and has its own space outside to hike around. I would definitely recommend this cabin and hope to stay there again. Perfect 10 in our book!

We loved our stay in the Ghost town overlook cabin. It was very spacious and had everything we needed to have a very relaxing and enjoyable vacation. We especially loved the mountain views and sound of the stream in the distance. This cabin was everything we could ask for and more. Our kids are already asking when we can go back!

(We saw more than 15 off the back porch during our stay in the cattle fields across the road). Short trip on good roads to Maggie Valley stores, shops and restaurants. Five minutes in the car or a 10 minute walk to public access fishing. 15 miles to Harrahs and all that Cherokee and the GSMNP has to offer and an easy drive to Cataloochee as well. Walking trails and some old road beds that Elk use daily right out your front door. Some reviewers have dinged this place because the bed linens were not the most luxurious or because the towels were mismatched. Really? You people need to get an actual life..... Get out, view the wildlife, hike, drink coffee and look at that view and don't worry that you used a white towel today but yesterday you used a green one. Some dings have come on the WIFI... Again get a life and welcome to rural properties. The house has Hughesnet internet. Anyone who has ever had to use Hughesnet will tell you that 1. It is expensive and 2. It is horrible. So no one who has any other option would ever consider it. If something else was possible I assure you they would have it. If this really bothers you, get a hot spot on your phone and use that. Cell service was good to excellent. We spent 6 days and 5 nights here and absolutely hated to leave. Did I mention the view and the elk and the convenience? The well appointed kitchen and the propane fire pit on the back deck were fully enjoyed. It was truly a magical trip and the best trip I have had to the mountains in decades. Kudos to the owner and the management company. I have sent the link to this home to numerous people and plan to return annually at least. If I could give you more than 5 stars, I would. Loved the house, location and view! I do agree with other reviews that said the bath towels, kitchen towels and pillows need to be replaced. The bed pillows are stained and most of the towels are threadbare. Replacement of the pillows and towels and the home would be perfect!

It has the most awesome outdoor living space with WONDERFUL close range and long range Smokey Mountain View’s. Double French doors in 3 different places leading to the huge covered deck on two sides. Big volume ceilings, very nice kitchen, huge master suite...I could go on and on. I love the place. So easy to get to. It’s perfect - a beautifully built, well-designed, excellent quality log home.

What could possibly detract from such an awesome vacation home?
The Internet folks...or lack thereof.
The internet at this home is useless. USELESS! Mr. Owner, this is 2020. All day, every day our lives depend on the ability to use the internet. Work. Play. Business. Leisure. That’s the world we live in. I bet you don’t scrimp on the internet at your home. So why would you scrimp on the internet for your guests? I spent a LOT of money for the privilege of staying at this beautiful mountain vacation home only to have my hands completely tied by super slow, seriously sluggish, nearly non-existent WIFI. Couldn’t work, too slow. Couldn’t play, too slow. Internet so useless we couldn’t even watch a stinkin’ show on Netflix. Internet so pathetic the movie simply WOULD NOT PLAY, repeatedly, on different days, at different hours, trying different shows. Useless. I don’t call that a vacation. You may disagree. The world that I live in requires internet usage with at least a modicum of speed. This is 2020...almost 2021. Please. Give us more bits (per second!)

Property was great, however i never got an email on how to get into the property so i had to jump threw hoops to figure out how to get into the house!!! They made us drive to an office to pick up and drop off a key, terrible manegment. They didnt leave any trash bags, toilet paper or anything in the home at all. Property was great, rental agency was absolutly terrible!!!

We were quite disappointed on arrival to find the property closed up tight for some time and quite musty smelling. The kitchen counters were quite dirty with obvious dried food debris. We also found the washer full of wet smelly towels and bed lenins from a previous guest I presume. The apparent property owner paid us a visit mid week wondering what we were doing there! Just makes you wonder!

Great experience for the perfect family vacation for the holidays. Property was clean, in great condition and beautifully decorated. Amazing views. Conveniently located to rental office, major strip in Maggie Valley and only about 20 min to downtown Waynesville all while offering a secluded and private area to retreat to after busy days. Property manager is very responsive. Only recommendation is that towels and pillows could be replaced. Overall though a very great and comfortable stay.
