I have stayed at a number of vacation rentals, and I must say, Marta’s place tops the list. This was such a homey, cozy cottage! There was something for everyone. Books, games, pool and foosball tables…a little bit of fun for all ages and tastes. I didn’t use the pool area-but what a nice set up! Marta was so easy to work with and so responsive to every need. She included so many little extra touches. I appreciated the luggage wagon by the parking lot. Since I was by myself, I was able to make one trip with all my luggage. There were lots of little local treats she left as a welcome. I would highly recommend this cottage…and anything else Marta rents out!! It was just the restful trip I needed! I look forward to visiting again!

Everything was terrific for a quick New Year's getaway with our family. The cottage is very nice, and everything was very well taken care of to make our stay easy and relaxing.

Choosing a rental property for my husband is always “iffy”. He’s a tall guy and sometimes beds and furnishings get a thumbs down. When he announced that Marta’s cottage was the best I’ve ever selected, not only was I relieved but hopeful that return visits are in our future. The cottage, the property and the treats that greeted us made for a very nice getaway. Five stars on everything!! Except the weather!

It was a nice getaway. The host gave us a warm welcome and provided extra thoughtful touches--treats, nice sheets and towels, masks and disinfectants, coffee, spices etc. She has done a great job of decorating and making the property comfortable for all. A swimming pool and pool house are nearing completion and will make it even more of an amazing property. The lake is within view from the house and beach is easily accessible in a few minute walk.

This was the perfect getaway in South Haven. Our family of four absolutely loved relaxing in front of the fireplace in this cozy home. We enjoyed strolling through town, walking along the beach, ice skating, and short trips to neighboring areas. The home was sparkling clean when we arrived. From the time we booked with Marta, her communication was top notch - she was a pleasure to work with. We are already planning a return trip!

Easy access to property with cypher lock on door. Convenient to South Haven and Lake Michigan. Property was very clean and nicely decorated. Marta provided a welcome gift which we didnt expect! Handy book of things to do and places to eat. We would recommend!

Beautiful proprety and close to the water and walkable to downtown. Marta was a great host and got us in early and allowed a late check out to accommodate our 1 year old.

South Haven is an all around great destination if you’re seeking a beach plus town experience in Southwest Michigan. We knew the area but not the town, and although Covid hampered everyone to some degree, we had a lovely time (BTW South Haven and the cottage’s property owner are quite Covid compliant). I recommend this property for a close-knit family or friend group. Two bathrooms will make things easier, but the space is “cozy”. There’s not a lot of closet space, or other storage, so consider when you’re packing. With Covid, we ate most meals at home. The kitchen is a smallish galley set up but has pretty much everything you’ll need. I prepared three full meals for 6 guests (transported to family nearby) and it worked fine. The location in town is great. You can walk pretty much everywhere except to buy “big” groceries. There is a Meijer near the highway that is open 25 hours and has extensive selection. Be sure to visit Barden’s Farm Store, where I bought at least half our groceries. I also recommend the Farmhouse Deli, not far away in Douglas. Marta (property owner) was super responsive. Although she and I never met, I felt well cared for. The cottage was well stocked with essentials and mid-week housekeeper did an excellent job. Enjoy South Haven. It’s a world away.

The cottage was very cute, great artwork, and you could see the lake from the deck! Very short walk and they had everything we could have wanted!

We’re a family of four - great location, well appointed cottage with everything needed for an excellent week away, grill, beach toys, bikes, easy parking, etc. Enjoy.

Everything we could have wanted was included here - from the lux Lands End beach towels and great beach gear/umbrellas/floaters, to the ample supply of paper goods, coffee and welcome basket of goodies. Marta is an exceptional hostess - she was easy to reach if needed, and has thought of everything! We will be back!

Our stay here has been amazing! My wife and I brought our 7 month old son for his first vacation (along with his grandma and grandpa) and it was the perfect getaway. Marta truly was the best host- responsive and attentive, going above and beyond to make us comfortable. She had every necessity for a beach vacation so we didn’t have to bring them ourselves (towels, chairs, floats etc...). We can’t wait to come back again and rent the larger house with a bigger group!

Great location: walking distance to lake, shopping, restaurants. House was clean, quiet and comfortable.

We were pleasantly surprised at all of the extras that Marta provides at no additional cost: bikes, beach chairs, wagons, pack-n-play, paper towels, napkins and a wonderful gift basket filled with local goodies. I also forgot an expensive necklace behind and was panicked that it was gone for good and Marta quickly found it and got it mailed back to me ASAP and didn’t even charge me the shipping. Thank you so much!

This rental is in a great location! We went across the street to Packard beach almost every day and night for sunset. We also walked about ten minutes to North Beach several times. The walk to town is also about ten minutes. Very clean cottage and there was even a welcome basket of snacks. We really enjoyed our stay here with our family of 5!

Great little place to stay. Was clean and everything was thought of. Really enjoyed the treats that the owners left. Having coffee k cups provided was very thoughtful. Parking was easy with the lot to the rear. Tricky to initially find. Look for the white fence.
