The house was very clean and the beds were so comfortable. We enjoyed the salt water pool a lot and the outside grill. Easy access to the beach, about a 5 minute walk. Communication was excellent with management and would highly recommend this rental!

We had a few bumps along the way with some issues at the house after arriving, but Ronnie and her office were very responsive and quick to get the issues resolved. The house was perfect for our needs and close to the wedding venue and our daughter (the bride) and her friends.
We didn't have an opportunity to go to the ocean, but there was easy, close access.

Has lots of fun here. Pool was great, larger than picture makes it look. Beach is access is directly across street, five minute walk to the water at most.

Decently stocked but not very clean. Feet were black within 10 minutes of walking in house. Definitely needs TLC. Doors and walls marked up. Patches made in walls but not sanded down and painted. Very worn stairs and sticking doors. All the outdoor furniture was torn and worn. Nice location, got an early check in. As someone has stayed in the outer banks since a child this house was overpriced.

What a great cottage with all the trimmings. Kitchen is extremely well equipped with sharp knives and even cast iron frying pans! Beds are huge and very comfy with lots of pillows. And a GREAT location - easy 5 min. stroll to the wide beach. The area is also in a perfect less-busy location and in walking distance of the BEST restaurant on the island - Sam & Omies!

Cottage had all I needed and more, the porches/decks were a real topper. Plenty of room, and a well stocked kitchen that allowed me to easily prep many dishes.

Great location
House met our expectations, location was great! One of the BEST equipped kitchens we have ever seen. Beach access was just a quick walk across the road and on the beach in a couple minutes. Pool was nice and clean and furniture was comfortable.

Squeaky floorboards and Self-clean...
The location of the property was in a quiet part of town so that was a plus for us, considering that we were there to sight see. The property is also located close to the major attractions. On a negative note, if one person is in the kitchen/dining room/lounge area upstairs, and people are trying to sleep downstairs, the floorboards squeak with every step which is most annoying. The private access point to the beach is not clearly marked so that means we had to use the public access which was an inconvenience considering we had to cart a lot of items. Next time, I would book into a hotel because according to the checkout reminders, we had to sweep and wash dishes and clean-up, which is like being at home. We paid additional for cleanup and house cleaning, so why must I clean up myself.

Great location, pool, accomodations
We loved the location and the house had plenty of room for six adults, one child, two babies and a dog. We loved the convenience of the close beach access and on site pool. Unfortunately the house does need a few repairs from leaks in the past and there was a ceiling leak while we were there related to a rusted out air conditioner drip pan. The rental company did fix it right away and gave us some money back on our rental for the loss of sleep related to not being able to use that room for a night. Overall we had a good time and would recommend.

Great location, fully stocked kitchen with everything you’ll need and the pool was an added bonus. Mother Nature has taken over the private boardwalk and we had to use the public beach access. It has become one with the dune. Thankfully it wasn’t far but would have been easier with our little ones if it was usable.

Our family has always stayed on Hatteras Island and this was the first stay on the "mainland". We were used to more modern, updated homes with adequate bathrooms (one for each bedroom), and amenities such as game room and hot tube for far less money than what we paid for the Sand Dollar.
While the pool, beach access, and fully stocked kitchen were great, 2 bathrooms were not enough for the 4 bedrooms in the home. We had 9 persons staying (it accommodates 12) and waiting for an available bathroom was frustrating. Also comfortable living room furniture only sat 5 (not including the bean bag chair). So when we were all together, several had to sit on the dining room chairs. Most of the time, they just went outside and sat on the deck. The house was clean and beds were comfortable. The convenience of being nearer shopping/grocery facilities was also appreciated. Overall, we did enjoy our time and was thankful to have found a place to stay in the high demand for vacation homes!

Enjoy the Breeze
First time to Nags Head; enjoy the location along with the private access to the beach. The access allows for limited number of crowds onto the beach; enjoy ocean breeze from the front deck regardless the time of the day.

Great Stay
This place was quaint and as described. Easy check-in. Bedrooms were spacious with comfy beds. Beach access is directly across the street and soooo convenient. 2 fridges and a fully stocked kitchen. Bring your own coffee filters if you drink coffee, as they were not provided. Also bring some tp, paper towels, dishwasher tablets, etc., as they only give you the minimum. This is a great option for those who want to bring their dogs. However, you won't be allowed to let them in the pool, as their filtration system can't clear the dog fur. No worries. The pups will love wading in the ocean just as much. Overall, this was an affordable and nice place, and the rental folks were very approachable. I would recomment.

Great Location! The Beach is across the street, Pea Island just down the road, Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge, a 20min drive away. Lots of Parks and Wilderness areas to explore close by. Jeanettes Pier is in walking distance if you want to go fishing.Beds were comfortable, house was clean, kitchen supplied with everything you could need to cook with and it even has a play area for your dogs

NOT BAD FOR THE PRICE BUT COULD USE SOME WORK
Definitely affordable for 2 nights stay, however there were several issues that need to be addressed before someone else runs into the same problems we experienced. I read in previous reviews that the ice maker and tv in at least one room weren't working. We ran into the SAME issues when we checked in. The bigger issue for us were all of the gnats... I'm hoping the owner will be more mindful of that and possibly look into prevention so the next guests aren't as annoyed with them as we were. The house was clean and spacious enough for the 7 of us who stayed so that was a plus!

Lovely stay
We stayed at the Sand Dollar property and it was exactly as described. The cottage was clean and ready for us when we got there. Access to the beach was just across the road.

Spacious cottage with lots of sunlight! Weather was too cool to enjoy the decks, but they are clean and furnished comfortably. Furniture and master king bed are quite comfortable. Great location with nice views. Overall a nice experience. Check in and check out was very easy! Customer service was quite good!

Very comfortable house
We enjoyed our stay. The house was very comfortable and close to the beach. The ice maker didn’t work nor did the water in the fridge door. But other than that everything was great

Was a great location and a short walk to the beach and the pier.
I would stay at this location again. It had all you needed for appliances and comfortable beds. Would like to stay when the pool is open. We were here over Thanksgiving week and it was closed for the season.

Great vacation spot!
The house was a great find - the short walk to the ocean made it even better! The Rentals on the Ocean team was extremely responsive and helpful. We had a blast!

Okay rental.
The rental was okay. I was given 3 different access entry codes only to receive the correct one upon arrival and another incorrect one 4 days later after several emailing and calling. The drains were very slow, washing machine was temperamental, definitely would not suggest having 12 people unless you plan to be piled on top of each other. All the issues were minor but just seems for the price the light bulbs would be replace or switches would work, stair case to entry wouldn’t have spider webs and smoke detector battery wouldn’t be chirping from low battery. The kitchen was nicely stocked with every dish or pan you could need which made cooking at home very nice! The pool and balconies were great! The fenced in area below the house was great for pets to go out and remain in the shade! Relatively close to public beach access which was nice. Overall it was okay!

Fun stay
Overall, we had a nice stay. The location is across the street from the beach, but with the private walkway, it was only a 2-3 minute walk. The house was clean, but showing it's age a bit. There were some minor issues (light switches on the outside didn't work, slow drains and several light bulbs were burnt out), but overall, it was a convenient location for the beach and easy to get to. All of the appliances worked well and the layout of the house was fine. Not a great view, but sitting on the deck was shaded in the evening and we could catch a glimpse of the ocean. We enjoyed out stay and would come again.
