The property was indeed on Casco Bay, but was not as private or with the amenities I would have expected for the price. The furniture was older, the cleanliness left quite a bit to be desired. When we had issues with the toilet backing up, we were told that the previous guests hadn't had a problem, and ultimately the host (who lives in the upstairs apartment) did nothing about it (too busy or away). It was not attractive to have a boarded up Airstream parked in the backyard and weeds growing around the property where there was supposed to be a deck for barbeque and such. Overall disappointing.

Mother/daughter vacation 2024 After an unexpected airport delay, we were delighted at how easy this cozy gem was to find after midnight. We completely enjoyed our stay, and Mat was a fantastic host. There is a full display of local attractions and restaurants whichmade it easy to fill our days. This rental is in a great location for easy access to all we wanted to do. We enjoyed the evenings on the porch with the fire pit and the views of the harbor. We highly recommend staying here when you’re in the Portland area.

I came to Portland for my graduation. My family and I made some pretty unforgettable memories! The property was wonderful, it was great to look out the window and be right in front of the Bay. Everything about the stay was wonderful!

We loved our stay at Casco Bay! we enjoyed watching the tide all day, and the great location. The home is charming and cozy, and very well equipped with everything you would need. Nothing is more annoying when you rent a house and there is no salt and pepper! I definitely look forward to coming back :)

Matt was a super host! The property was exactly as shown on VRBO, location was perfect and all amenities were precise. We really enjoyed out stay, will definitely stay here again, if available on my next trip to Portland.

Great place, pleanty of areas to walk or trot from the front door. Host was very accessible and helpful. Easy in and out for acess to Downtown by car.

We had a great stay. The place was as listed. Location is right off the highway and a short drive into Old Port and the rest of the area. Mat was friendly and quickly responded to any questions we had. It was clean and comfortable. The view outside the bay window was nice. We traveled with our dog and across the street was a grassy area for him to explore. We would stay again if in the area.

Great spot - location super convenient to many things in Portland, right off 295. Road in front of the house is pretty busy but drivers responded consistently to the pedestrian blinking lights when we walked our dog over toward the water. Good neighborhoods nearby for running in. Mat was super responsive and helpful - didn’t realize he lives in the other half of the duplex! Great with recommendations and general communication. White noise machines in the bedrooms were great for drowning out traffic noises - nice touch.

This is the 2nd time staying with Mat. He is a wonderful host. Always accommodating and ready with local advice. The house is in the perfect location. Easy access to 295 and Portland is a short Uber ride away. If you’re looking for a good place for a working vacation, this is it. Two spaces to work with great Wi-Fi. And you can’t beat looking out the front window at the bay sipping coffee every morning. I highly recommend.

This is a fantastic place for those who want to be close to downtown, the beaches & trails or Thompson's Point, as well as those who love to bring their pooches on vacation! The space is clean, well laid out and has ample parking. If you are new to the area, Mat has you covered! He provides guests with a busy board highlighting activities, food recommendations and other conveniences. Mat has thought of everything with regard to amenities to make guests feel welcome, and that includes thoughtful canine comforts. My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would definitely book here again if we return to Portland.

The house/apartment was great and has everything we needed for our four day/three night stay. . The owner Matt was a great help with itinerary suggestions and responded to us immediately when we had questions. Great stay overall, would definitely stay there again!

True to description, the property was simple but clean and comfortable. Beds are just fine. And, although the traffic can get heavy in front of the property, the cottage is surprisingly quiet. Nice view of the water. And, convenient to everything—including the airport, which we had to get to very early in the a.m. Host was super-responsive. Would stay here again.

This cute house has all the amenities. It was soo clean and perfect for my daughters and me for our yearly getaway. The location is superb.

We had the pleasure of staying in this great house for 8 nights over the 4th of July holiday. There are so many great things I can say about this place. Location: Incredible. The bay views are stunning and the porch area couldn’t be a better a place to watch sunsets. There are quite a few chairs and a fire pit (only had to use once). If you are lucky enough to be there for the 4th of July, you are in for a treat! You’ll have the best view from your porch! The house is extremely convenient to downtown and takes less than 10 mins to get there. It was a great landing spot for the first leg of our trip. The space: the house was a perfect space for my family of 4 to enjoy our work/play trip. There was even a little office space. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything you’d need to cook. I appreciated that Mat has lots of power cords/places to plug electronics in. He thought through the needs of the people staying there. One thing I didn’t see in the details was that there was an A/C unit in both bedrooms and the living room, which is important on hot evenings! If I had one complaint, I’d say the king bed was uncomfortable, it didn’t feel like there was much support. The host: Mat was so nice and responsive. He answered every question almost immediately and was on property to say hello. He’s easy going and wants to make sure you’re enjoying your stay. I would 100% stay here again and would tell anyone it’s a great place.

Great view of the water with an area just across the street to walk your dog. Matt was very friendly and even text me to offer his snow tube when it snowed during our visit. I would definitely recommend this property!

My husband and I rented this property with our two dogs and invited family for a birthday weekend. The view of the bay was absolutely gorgeous and made the chilly weather worth it. The property is conveniently located, so it was super easy to get anywhere we wanted to explore in Portland. Mat was very responsive during the check in process which made things run smoothly. We would definitely come back here for our next trip!

I came with my dog to do some hiking and exploring and connect with a few friends. The location was central and very easy. The view is gorgeous, especially for sunrise. It is a busy road but there was a white noise machine in the bedroom that really helped. The toilet clogged a couple of times (it happens 🤷🏻‍♀️) but Mat was available quickly to help and even replaced the plunger that didn’t really do the trick. The floor/ceiling is a little thin, so if you are bringing a dog, be aware of the various noises and loads of walkers/joggers if that’s not something they get at home. It didn’t bother me, except that my dog alerted to every single thing which probably drove them as crazy as it did me. We’ll work on that with the dog. Overall a very comfortable stay. I’d definitely recommend it.

This location was perfect! Easily accessible to downtown Portland as well as many hiking trails. There is construction going on right outside the property but we didn’t let it ruin our stay - we weren’t really there during the day which helped. Easily accommodated my husband, mom, and brother.
