this is the best rental on orcas . . .and I've stayed in many! We often struggle with just one rental car, but not in this location because everything in town is around the corner! I hesitate to review this rental because I want to be able to book it in the future and when more people find out, it will get booked up a year in advance. Incredibly clean, stocked with everything that one needs, nice and bright! If you want to feel isolated this might not be the rental for you because you're in the thick of the goings on of town, but for us that was ideal!

My family and I loved our stay at this house. The location is perfect - you can walk to restaurants, stores, the farmers market...whatever you need in Eastsound, while still feeling like you're in a private spot with a beautiful view of the sound. The house is really nicely done - the furnishings are beautiful and the kitchen and bathrooms are well stocked. I would absolutely stay here again.

What a wonderful house! Beautifully constructed and conveniently located close to town yet very quiet, our family of four adults and two kids loved our time here. The spacious and well-appointed kitchen with a Wolf range made family meal prep so much fun and drinks and dinner on the deck as the sun set was a resulting treat. Coffee, restaurants and bars, galleries and groceries all within walking distance are a special experience. A couple of minor glitches with the house were promptly and courteously addressed by the owner’s team which provided excellent customer service. Highly recommend this outstanding property. Looking forward to a return in the near future.

Very comfortable and relaxing. Plenty of room to cook together in a large open kitchen. Enjoyed sitting by the fire pit and watching the birds and water.

Homestead is a beautiful place. Originally built in 1909, it has been perfectly remodeled to capture its classic essence while still bringing modern conveniences. With excellent south and westerly views, the sunlight filled many rooms during our December 2021 stay there. We went just after a severe snowstorm, but our host, Susan, made sure the lights and heat were already on when we arrived. The cold temperature was at first a challenge for the classic house, but the new heating units installed in the remodel (we were the first renters!) worked really well, despite a chill factor equal to 3 degrees outside. Homestead is located right in Eastsound. Everything, including the store and bakery, is less than a 2 minute walk. Given the snow, the town of Eastsound was mostly closed up, but it was still a pleasant visit and a beautiful setting. Homestead included everything you could want. Wonderful decorating; luxurious bedding and towels; thoughtful touches like throw blankets galore; a well provisioned kitchen with all new appliances; bookshelves and reading nooks everywhere; and perfectly functioning wifi. With the cold, we were unable to use the deck (with its barbeque) or the covered gazebo (with its firepit). However, I am sure in warmer months, they will be a huge part of the expereience. Our only regret would be that the large hearth in the middle of the great room was not a fireplace (populated with candles instead). That would have been a perfect touch during the cold days we stayed there. The host, Susan, was professional, solicitious and helpful in every respect. We highly recommend this property and hope to return again.

great property, ideally located near town. perfect for our family reunion

Accommodated my family of 11 comfortably. We loved the large outdoor space for gathering of family and friends, and the easy walk to grocery and shops/galleries. On day 2 of our four day stay, the upstairs bath/shower leaked through to the dining room and was quickly addressed by management although we lost the use of one bathroom. Overall, a lovely place for making memories!

Susan was very easy to work with. We really enjoyed the beautiful view of Eastsound, the fire pit, a nice place for outdoor games, and a well equipped kitchen. Such a great location, mid island and close to the grocery store, and shopping.

We had an amazing stay! The house was as advertised. Charming, cozy, great location steps from shops, restaurants and market. Beautiful ocean-front view! There were 7 of us and we were more than comfortable. Would definitely be our #1 choice again if we go with big group. Thanks!

This large and charming house is just around the corner from the main street in Eastsound. We never had any problem with noise even though the town was busy during the day. Within two blocks, we found a great bakery, supermarket, pizza, and some fun shops. Beach access was around the corner, though tree limbs washed up by winter storms had blocked the stairs. We found safer access at the other end of town, just a block away. The house itself was well-maintained, very clean, and well-supplied. One note here is that the beds and dishes were high—a bit awkward for us shorties. The beautiful setting made me feel like I was in a Sunset Magazine feature story! Kitchen, one bedroom, and the large back deck overlooked the beach and water. The spacious outdoor dining area gave us stunning views, and we loved the adirondack chairs gathered around the outdoor fire pit. We had five children (ages 9 through 1) in our group of 11 (ages 9 through 1) and they had lots of room to run in the yard. This property is very special, and we would jump at the chance to stay there again.

A beautiful and homey house, highly functional outdoor space, a picturesque landscape, and an ideal location right next to Eastsound... it doesn't get better than this house!
