Beautiful cabin with amazing view. There’s nothing like waking up in the morning and being able to lay in bed and gaze at the waterfall right out your window. The host was very prompt with any request that we had. I do wish it had a hot tub, but otherwise it was perfect and I can’t wait to come back.

We loved the Cliff House. It was everything and more of what we expected. The owner of the home also had the best communication ever! This was truly a gem!!

There are no words to describe the view of Desoto Falls from all rooms of the house! It is just spectacular, and you can hear the Falls as well. The house is amazing and appointed with every luxury a guest could desire. The owner is an artist with exquisite taste, and it shows in every detail from the design of the house to its furnishings. This Vrbo is unique because the owner is closely involved in the property. He greets us upon arrival and makes us feel welcome. Over the years, he has become a friend who we look forward to seeing at each visit. He loves his property, and I feel grateful that he shares it with us. The view and the house are wonderful, but he makes it extra special! The location is perfect. It is close to DeSoto State Park and has access to trails just a short walk down the road. The town of Mentone is 10 minutes away and has some nice restaurants, farmers' markets, and community activities. Cliff House is the BEST vacation EVER! I will continue to come back as often as possible.

This is our second time staying at the house. We loved our first visit in the fall so much, we came back in the spring.

Heaven on Earth! Balpha was a dream and explained everything perfectly. Run, don't walk to this property!

The best way I can describe this place is that it's a hidden paradise. The cabin has been designed and outfitted to absolute perfection, offering convenience at every turn and a picturesque view from every room. As for that view, I'm not sure there is anything else quite like it in the eastern United States. To be perched on a cliff overlooking a roaring waterfall with nature all around you is something you expect to have to travel to another country to find, and yet here it is hidden in an adorable little town in northern Alabama. Simply put, this place is a gem. We intend to return often and I truly can't recommend it enough.

Who would have thought a place like this would exist in Alabama! In fact, there are many beautiful houses in the area. Mentone is wonderful! We loved the mountain roads. The property is so well maintained and quite high tech if you ask me. It is a gorgeous place. The pictures do not do it justice. You can hear the waterfall at night. You can take a very easy walk or drive right down to it and play in the water. Read a good book on the porch or take a nap. The kitchen is very well stocked. I brought some kitchen stuff with me (including a lemon juicer) thinking I would need it and I didn't. Rarely do I see a lemon juicer in a rental. We met the owner on the first day we arrived and he showed us around the house and explained to us how to operate everything. I think he does that to avoid phone calls from renters. We found it super helpful and he was so pleasant to talk to. He was cute and really funny. I highly recommend this place. We were sad to leave. It was our favorite VRBO we've ever stayed at so far. We will definitely make our way back here again. On a side note, we had the opportunity to eat at The Hatter Cafe which is about 10 minutes away. If you are a girl OR have a young child who is a girl - this restaurant is a MUST. The food is good and the decor is amazing! It's a dining experience for a nice price.

Such a delightful, artful, unique cabin looking over such a force of nature!! The owner is so welcoming and gives a grand tour of the cabin & grounds when one arrives. He makes you feel at home and provides wonderful amenities and great conversation! We will return!

The property could not have been better as far as the sights and sounds of the waterfall! Stunning! We came for this reason, and it did not disappoint!

The property is amazing!!! The view from every room is magical and listening to the falls just puts you straight to sleep. We have stayed at a lot of places and usually do not visit one place twice but this place is so special we are already planning our next visit. Balpha is the best host, we never knew he was right next door! Can’t wait to visit again!

We enjoyed another lovely stay at the Canyon Falls Cliff House. The house is beautifully appointed, the beds so very comfortable, and the kitchen supplied with all our needs (thanks especially for the electric kettle!). Our visit fell during an April cold snap, providing an opportunity to enjoy the fireplace. And then, there's the view and roar of the falls, visible from every room in the house! You have to experience this place to truly understand what a jewel it is. Hoping for a longer stay the next time!

Our stay was fabulous! The view could not have been better, and the place was very clean, comfortable and nice. We loved hiking (and discovering hidden streams) every day, and the small town setting was perfect! We attended a precious Easter service at the Sally Howard Memorial Church, and we met some wonderful people. We are very grateful to Balpha for having us, and we hope to get the opportunity to return some day!

Beautiful cabin - inside and out. Clean and decorated nicely. Everything you need. There isn't a bad view from any window. The falls are beautiful. Great place to relax, whether it's curled up next to the fireplace or hiking the woods to get closer to the falls!

From the beautiful house, to the art, and the view, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and came away refreshed and ready to rejoin the world and all its responsibilities. We will certainly return for more refreshing and inspiring retreats.

Everything about this property was just as advertised. Extremely clean, fantastic view! Very comfortable. Close to entertainment of park and Mentone. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend this property.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we pulled away was complete bliss. Our family enjoyed this stay more than any trip to the beach. I consider Mentone one of Alabama’s best kept secrets! Balpha met us at the lovely home to show us all the electronic functions etc. And as for the home.. you will notice attention to every detail was thought out. From the art work to the thoughtful color scheme throughout the home to the unexpected fresh flowers. This place had it all. And the view of the falls was the icing on the cake. We hope to return for years to come with family and friends.

We spent a peaceful holiday here, enjoying the mesmerizing views of the waterfall. It rained—but that just made the waterfall more powerful. The cottage is lovely and well-stocked. Nothing could be better!

Cliff House is perfect for two couples. Matching bedrooms and bathrooms at each end. Kitchen and Den in the middle. Great layout.

This is our second time to stay here. The home is beautifully maintained and an excellent location. Such a gorgeous view even though the waterfall is only trickling these days due to the drought. We can’t wait to come back!

We really enjoyed our stay. It was a relaxing & peaceful get away. The views were beautiful ! Both bedrooms had a view of the waterfall area. Only thing, there had been a drought with no waterfall. We prayed for rain, and the first night we had a heavy rain storm. And the next morning, it was still raining. So, we finally got to enjoy a small trickle of a waterfall before we left. But, the views and the peaceful feeling while staying there was a great experience, even without the waterfall in full force. We would love to return again.

Mentone never disappoints. The property was amazing. Overlooking the falls and close to downtown Mentone. Good eats nearby, hiking and horseback riding. The owner was hospitaple. He took the time to walk us through and explain the lighting to the dishwasher. A 5+ star rating.

What a relaxing weekend at this beautiful property I have long admired from afar! I came here as part of my grief journey after losing my son a few months ago and it is a healing place. Even with the waterfall almost completely dried up (which I was aware of due to the severe drought this year,) my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciated Balpha explaining how everything worked. My bed in the blue room was like a dream. The cabin is more beautiful than the pictures and everything seems very unique or high end. A feast for the senses and the soul.

Will visit again and again!!!

The property was exactly what I expected from the listing - the house was spotless & comfortable & was stocked with everything we needed and the views were outstanding! Unfortunately due to lack of rain lately the waterfall wasn't much to behold, but we decided that just meant that we will have to return for another visit! We still had a great weekend & enjoyed the lovely Mentone area.
