The pictures do not do this place justice! It is so cute and spacious. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. It was only about a 10 minute walk into town/beach. Each person in our group talked about returning again with their families! 10/10 recommend.

This is our third stay at the Indiana Schoolhouse and we are ready to book again for next year. It's the perfect place for 6 college friends and 5 teens to cook meals, play games and take in sunsets.

What a great layout. Many places to be within the walls of the schoolhouse. I felt such joy and calm. Playing pool was very thereapeutic for all of us. We also played cards.Some watched football while others were preparing a meal. All in the same space but with alot of space. Many notes and quotes written on the chalkboards. Totally will return. Thank you schoolhouse for the powerful peaceful calm of your estate.

I am so thankful that this property was available for a family gathering that has been long overdue. It was the perfect setup for our needs. The main gathering space is very large and multi-functional so no one ever felt left out of the group, even if you were playing pool or cooking. That being said, the layout of the interior is such that if you did wish to remove yourself for a bit, it was easy to do. Some notes: the property is very clean and well maintained. The charm of the schoolhouse is evident, but it is mixed in nicely with modern updates throughout. The kitchen is well stocked. The location is amazing! A nice, short walk to the beach and/or downtown. We met a lot of very nice people in the neighborhood on our walks. It felt very safe. The owners are quite lovely to work with. I was a bit confused on the lockbox situation, but the owners were right there to help out (it was total user error on my part!). One thing to keep in mind, while there is plenty of hand soap, dishwasher pods, even laundry soap, none of the bathrooms had bar soap, shower gel or shampoo. I always travel with my own soap and shampoo, but not everyone might do that. Everything else (towels, tissue, hairdryers, etc.) is plentifully stocked. All-in-all this was such a lovely property to stay at. I am anxious to return. Especially since it rained the entire duration of our stay and we had no opportunity to utilize the wonderful outdoor amenities.

This is our second stay at the school house and we have always fully enjoyed it! This time we were celebrating a long weekend with our parents and siblings/spouses. There were 8 of us and the space could not have been more perfect. The layout is great to have some space between bedrooms, a big kitchen/living/dining that is perfect for family gatherings, and another living room downstairs. The bedrooms all have themes are are cutely decorated to period/theme. Beds are comfy and everything in the home is clean and well-kept. We were super impressed with how well stocked the kitchen is - and we're foodies! The outdoor area with fire pit was a dream - lots of chairs and seating, as well as a couple grills and very large table & chairs under a pergola with lights - lots of good food and laughs around the fire at night! We also went to Tabor Hill for lunch & wine tasting, rented a boat to take out on the lake, and shopped around SoHa - plenty to do even in early fall season. The owners were wonderful and very communicative. We would highly recommend, and look forward to staying there again!

This was our second time staying here and we absolutely love staying at the school house! Wonderful location to both shops and beach, as well as a unique property both inside and outside. Clean, well maintained, fully stocked kitchen (cooking utensils/ plates/cups) and tons of space to both congregate and have some time alone.

We enjoyed our stay in the school house. We had 9 adults and there was plenty of room with 4 bedrooms, separate space with fold out couch, and 3 bathrooms. Outside private space with large table, grill and fire pit. Walkable to town and South Beach.

We have stayed here since 2017; initially it was for long weekends in the fall, and then we added a week in the summer (except during the pandemic). The space is beautiful, and offers space for the kids and the adults. We have walkable access to the beaches and downtown. We love this place!

A comfy incredible spacious space for our group of 12- everything was superb from the wonderful AC to the hot showers, comfy beds, patio space, garden areas, dining area, clean garage - all of it was awesome. Thank you for a great time!

We loved it here. We had plenty of room without being on top of each other. Beautifully decorated and the kids loved all of the chalkboards!! Nice outdoor sitting space also for everyone to enjoy. Loved the location which was within walking distance to beach and playground.

This property never disappoints. The location is perfect and it's always clean and ready for fun. Spacious, and easy to feed and entertain 3-4 families. The outdoor space has plenty of seating for outdoor dining and we love having a bonfire here too.

Maybe the best rental I've ever stayed at. Stunning building, wonderful detail spent in the design and decor. Pool table and games were great, spacious, plenty of amenities and a well-stocked kitchen. Easy to get to the beach or downtown, excellent neighborhood. Owner was great to deal with. Basically perfect!

Nine women stayed for a bachelorette weekend. The place was walkable to everything we did. Restaurants and beach are very close. Great house. Very well stocked kitchen.

The Indiana School is a stunning and expertly remodeled school turned comfortable home. Our stay was exactly what we hoped and more. The property is well cared for and set up for ultimate relaxation. Just a few minutes walk from the beach, a playground, and the Main Street area - so all you need is just footsteps away. We cannot wait to return!

Spacious, comfortable, clean, wonderful location (within walking distance of downtown and beach and a short drive from other communities of interest)... perfect for many ages and interests. SO FUN, with history in the mix! We would gladly stay here again!

Our two families have come to this property for the last five years for our "winter retreat". We play games, work puzzles, read, take walks, and prepare amazing meals for each other. The Lincoln School is awesome and we are grateful to the owners for allowing us to stay!

The Indiana Schoolhouse was the perfect place for our family of 8 adults and 4 kids. The property is lovingly and mindfully renovated. You get a sense of its original purpose with the delightful chalkboards, high ceilings, wide moldings and school touches throughout (books, stenciled coat hooks, etc), but you are completely in comfort with updated bathrooms, quality towels & linens, fully stocked modern kitchen (including bar ware), plentiful and comfortable chairs, a garage and easy checkin with a lockbox. While there are rentals a bit closer in town, we loved having the large living spaces in this home, not feeling intrusive to the neighbors, lots of parking and still have the ability to walk to everything. With two living/sitting areas and lots of nooks & crannies, we had space for everyone to be together or separate and room for the piles of stuff that comes with vacation. We cooked breakfasts, got the whole crew ready for a wedding, walked to dinner, shopping and ice skating in town, and had lots of family time watching sports & playing games. We hope to come back to enjoy the fire pits, pergola and lots of manicured lawn space on this corner lot. Host was wonderfully responsive and home came with complete instructions. Would definitely recommend a stay here!!

This is our go to place to stay when we are in South Haven. Beautiful neighborhood, close to downtown, the house is just as listed. Highly recommend!!

We had a family Thanksgiving trip for 10. The unique old schoolhouse property was fantastic with plenty of space for everyone and recreation activities included. The location is ideal 4 blocks from the beach and the playground and 4-5 blocks from downtown in this wonderful walkable town.

If your looking for a good place to have a large group of family and friends for a get together, this place is for you!! The location is great and the facilities are awesome. The Owner works very well with you, especially when you lock yourself out. Haha. This is our second time staying here and we had plenty of room for our ladies weekend getaway. The only thing I can think to recommend is to have an additional coffee maker or maybe a Keurig machine, so there can be a variety of different types of coffee brought with renters. Also a mattress topper for the queen bed in the music room as it’s extremely firm. Other than that it was awesome!!! Thank you for letting us stay. We’ll be coming back again!!!

Property was amazingly restored. Beds were comfortable, water pressure was great! We drove, but totally walkable to downtown, Kids Corner and the blue stairs. We didn't take advantage of the outdoor space, but it would be amazing in the summer. We love South Haven, and this is a great unit for a mutli-generational family or larger group! Highly recommend!

This is our third time staying in The School House and we absolutely love it. The home is so unique and the location is perfect. It has everything we need for our annual “Wine Weekend.” The owner is very helpful and accommodating. We are already looking forward to coming back next fall.
