We really liked the house.We were disappointed there were two washcloths for 4 people for a week. Thankfully the owners responded and had some brought to us. The upstairs toilet would not flush so we spent time trying to fix it for several days. We are not plumbers so we kept working at it until it worked. When we arrived we could not get into the home since we didn't know where the key was to be found. We did notify them that we would be there at 4 pm. We luckily found it under the mat at the front door. The biggest thing is that the property was very clean and offered beautiful views. The owners were very nice, just not available for issues, since they were out of town.

We had a perfect stay for the IHBC over Memorial Day Weekend in Durango. The check-in process was smooth and the house has all the amenities of home and then some! Where have you ever stayed that had grapefruit spoons! Carol and Larry are excellent hosts and the home is comfortable for sleeping, dining, grilling on the deck, and sharing time in the living room or around the TV. We enjoyed every minute and didn't even use half of the amenities provided. The most grand feature has to be the beautiful view of snow-capped mountains and verdant valley and lake below. It is quiet and peaceful at night with stars above and on our last morning we awoke to find two mule deer on Carol and Larry's side yard laying down resting for an hour and rolling over and scratching their backs in the grass. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This trip was incredible. Although we spent most of our time skiing Purgatory, it was relaxing and comforting to know that we would come back to a house that provided incredible views while we recouped from the full day of skiing. The owners were great in providing information regarding Durango and provided fun ideas on local activities knowing we had my sons with us. Highly recommend!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was our first time in Durango, and Carol provided a number of great recommendations. The house was located in close proximity to golfing, hiking, and the downtown restaurants. We loved the deck - perfect place for morning coffee, afternoon snacks, or an after dinner drink. Carol is a lovely host. We’d stay here again.

Great location and wonderful hosts. Very nice couple who were eager to make our stay pleasant (even offered to make dinner!). The house layout is a bit unusual, with a bed in the kitchen/dining area, but we were very happy to have a full house to ourselves, with a patio and a nice view, right in Durango.

Third stay in Durango. This place was great. Everything was perfect.

Carol and Larry’s guesthouse is spacious, comfortable and well appointed. The view is beautiful and the surroundings peaceful. We have rented from them twice and will go back again if they will have us. You will not be disappointed.

...but not the best for us. The online listing does not show that there is a queen bed on the upper floor (behind the dining table), not in its own bedroom, but part of the great room/kitchen. The lower level floor has two bedrooms and one bath, but in order to get to the second bedroom you have to go through the first bedroom to get to it. We are two couples who travel together on motorcycles. The lower floor with two bedrooms didn't work for us (only one shared bathroom & those in the back bedroom have to go through the front bedroom to come & go up to the kitchen/great room or outside). And for us, the couple downstairs had to wait until the upstairs couple woke up so they could come upstairs to start their coffee in the kitchen, or even relax in the great room.. Lots of stairs, up & down, several times a day. There is a very small bathroom on the upper level, about 1/4 the size of the one shown in the lower level. Also, for those of you on motorcycles, there is a long, hilly gravel driveway up to the house. We LOVED the covered deck though and spent a good amount of time there when we were at the house. The house was clean, nicely furnished, spacious & comfortable, but as I said, not for us. Would be great for families.

Fantastic! The view is incredible and sitting on the deck with a cup of tea/coffee is the best way to start your day. The location is perfect…right down the street from a grocery store and a five minute drive into town. It provided the perfect respite from the hustle and bustle of daily life and the owners are most gracious. A++

It's exactly what we expected, alot of space and sleeping areas for a family of 5. The view outside the balcony was amazing. The owner was available for all communications via call /text. Carol was like part of the family our children adored her. We will for sure rent from these Wonderful people again the next time we vacation in Durango.

Great house for a family. Enough room for everyone to have space but still congregate together. Good location near town but far enough away to see wildlife. Close to road but still quiet. Our host was easily available for everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again

Absolutely perfect property for our stay in Durango. Spotlessly clean, fully stocked kitchen, bathrooms and laundry. The home was so spacious and the porch was exceptional. Watched the sunrise and sunset everyday and a family of deer grazing in the yard. The location was very convenient as well. Highly recommend this property.

The home is very spacious, clean and comfortable! We really enjoyed the covered deck as it boasts lovely views and is an extension of the main living space. The deck includes plenty of chairs, eating table, side table and propane grill. Having two full bathrooms was helpful as we were traveling with another couple. The kitchen is large and well appointed.
