We booked this property based on the location and photos. My mother in law is older and cannot negotiate stairs. Based on the listing, we didn't even think to ask about the stairs. When we arrived we found the layout unacceptable. We left immediately and got a hotel. My biggest issue here is a total lack of communication with the host. He simply "Ghosted" us when I told him about our issue. I reached out to VRBO through their website and other than sending an email to the host on my behalf, its has been two weeks and I have heard nothing.

Close to the inlaws like we wanted. Comfortable space

The apt was tidy and clean. The location was much further from our destination of Charleston than we figured. The commute in traffic was stressful at times. However it was closer to the Magnolia Plantation and Middleton which made it convenient .

Was great. Property has small cosmetic issues but nothing too bad. Location pleasantly quiet. Would stay again.

We were there for meetings in North Charleston and this place served our needs for a place to rest and eat breakfast.

Short drive to shopping/groceries/dining.

My family and I stayed here for a quick weekend getaway to Charleston. Location was great! We were only 25 minutes away from downtown. The apartment was great size for the three of us.

This property was the perfect spot for us to visit family in the area. The neighborhood was quiet and a nice place to take a walk. The property was very clean and comfortable. The only suggestion I have would be to have some drinking glasses. Sean was very prompt in answering questions and was so pleasant to deal with. Will most definitely stay again!

Comfortable, affordable, good location

We had a great time on our trip. Shawn's Townhouse was in a prime location. We were only 20-30 mins away at most from the things we wanted to see and visit. Would use again with the understanding it's a townhouse, so neighbors, a HOA, and you are Shawn's friends.

Shawn is an amazing host, he made sure we had clean sheets and everything was up to par. The house was comfortable and clean. Exactly what we needed for our trip. We will stay again when we return! Thank you, Shawn!

Everything was great

It was very clean and response from mgr/host was prompt. The only problem is the dishwasher. Overall, We enjoyed our stay.

My family enjoyed our stay in Ladson at this very comfortable unit. Shawn was responsive and excellent at communicating he provided our parking passes and the key fob to the laundry unit on site. The unit was accommodating and had all necessary items including flatware dishes and cookware travel size toiletry items start off toilet paper and paper towels clean linens towels/washcloths. I loved the decor in the unit and the way it was set up was perfect the bathroom upstairs that shared between the two bedrooms was great for me and my spouse and the kids to share I could easily go from our room to theirs to check on them in the night. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for our vacation if you are looking for a spot in Ladson look no further.

Nice furniture, beds, linens and towels. Home and patio need TLC. Backyard and pool area look nice.

Conveniently located, great value, highly recommend if you are visiting Charleston on a budget. Can’t wait to return, thanks Shawn for all the “extras”!!

Beautiful Decor with many updates.

Our stay with this property was great. When you first enter the home it felt like a home away from home. It was nicely stock with items you needed or might of forgot home. Communication was awesome with the homeowner. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Cozy spot and would book again! Mattress in master is soft, so keep this in mind if you prefer/need a firm mattress. No vents in bathrooms. Home was clean and comfortable and host was accessible and quick to respond. Enjoyed our stay!!

Overall, this property was good. Quiet neighborhood. The beds were very comfortable. Easy to get to downtown within 30 minutes. The address is a bit hard to see on the door because of the door decorations. Most other townhouses had these as well so it was hard to see any numbers. The lights and air/fans were turned on for us prior to arrival which was a nice touch. The house provided what we needed. There are a few things that I noticed that could be fixed. The fans in the bathrooms don't work. Some of the outlets are not connected to the walls (fire hazard). We couldn't seem to get the sliding door locked (safety issue). There was a handle of some sort in the track of the door to keep it from being opened. This townhouse is really nice but could benefit from a few minor fixes.

Would recommend with the caveats that the property is in need of a deep cleaning and reinvestment into repairs. Ask host for photos that show the actual townhouse interior instead of the professional photos. Not very suitable for small children (toddlers) due to all the decorations

This was a clean and comfortable property. Great value! If we return to Charleston, we will try to stay here again.

We stayed at Southern Sophistication in June 2022. The unit was very clean and decorated very "Beachy". Shawn was always accessible and easy to work with.

It was nice and enjoyable stay. Quiet neighborhood. Upstairs gets stuffy, even with ac and ceiling fans on, but probably nothing owner can do about that. The fans in the bathrooms didn't work, otherwise everything was great. Super cute decor and clean. Thank you for having us.

Unfortunately I am unable to recommend this place. The house needs a thorough cleaning and update. Upon arrival the mat at the front door was soaked with cleaning solution and wet. Chicken wings were left in a plastic bowl in the oven that made the kitchen smell. Several of the dishes that we pulled out of the cabinets were dirty and wet. I will however say that he has the apartment decorated in a nice beach theme throughout the rooms.
