Pros: This was in a great location- 7 minute walk to the beach and 10-20 minute walk to other amenities. Kitchen had almost everything you might need and the house itself is super cute and overall pretty comfortable! Cons: Unfortunately checkin is not the most simple (have to pick up and drop off keys at the beach rental- which is about a 10 minute walk from the beach house). Swapping to an electric key pad would make checkin/checkout a lot easier (especially when coming in from out of town with no cars). With 6 people staying we expected to have 2 working toilets and one of the toilets was not working the entire time. Seems that the rental company has been aware of this for a while and has not fixed it (we’re paying for 2 bathrooms, and expect to be able to use both). WiFi also did not work our entire time, and there are no beach chairs, beach towels, umbrellas, cart, etc. When we arrived there was only 1 roll of TP per bathroom and maybe half a roll of paper towels. For the price of the house, I’d highly recommend the rental company addressing these issues to make for a more convenient and comfortable stay for guests. Loved the house and location, but the lack of basic needs and the lack of functional items that we paid for would make me less inclined to rent from this place again.

Overall, a pleasant stay. I would stay there again and I would recommend it to others. Updated property with minor issues which is to be expected- toilet did not flush properly in one bathroom and a couple of non essential doors and locks did not work but management offered to address when we reported the issues. The issues were not significant so we declined. Beach was a 5 to 10 minute walk from the house. Recommendations: for the rental price, would like to see a larger essential stock supply of items like toilet paper, detergent, dishwashing soap, etc. would also recommend providing beach amenities such as beach wagon, beach chairs, beach umbrella for guest use so we don’t have to bring or purchase our own for the week.

The proximity to Paradise and other establishments was wonderful. The gulf is probably a 3-minute walk away. Outdoor spaces were great, especially the hammock on the ground level. We didn't have dogs but there is a perfect enclosed yard for one. The only negatives were that the house did not cool evenly for some reason and the bath towels could stand to be replaced as they were worn and scratchy.

I would recommend it for dogs that can easily navigate stairs and are not fence jumpers as the fence is very short on one side. For this reason, our boxer had to remain on the leash for the week. The other dog could be unleashed as he is not a jumper. The house adequately served our needs and the weather at the beach this week was perfect.
Paradise Homes are very nice and professional. I would definitely recommend them. The walk to the beach is around 5 minutes. You do have to cross a busy road, but there are large enough breaks in the traffic to find a safe time to cross. It did make me a little nervous with small children. The beach that is accessible from the home is not very crowded, which was great. The house is in a nice and quiet neighborhood. The yard is great with beautiful plants and working fountains.

Good overall experience

My family and I decided to stay out on the beach of our hometown for a few days to celebrate my youngest child’s birthday. We’re familiar with the area so knew the house was well located for what we wanted. The check in was interesting because normally, key pads are used but this required an in-person key pick up (no big deal). When we checked into the property, my husband and I do what we always do before fully settling: we checked the property for issues to ensure they were documented and not blamed on us. There were a few blinds broken, and both showers were dirty. The place smelled a bit of mold but it’s not uncommon in older homes on the beach. When we called the property management company to let them know the shower was dirty (a visible film on the drain with clumps of hair), their response was “Do you want us to send someone out to clean it up?” Which, of course, we did. The TVs are very outdated but again, no big deal since we planned on spending our time outdoors anyways. My husband went to take a shower before bed and realized that one of the features mentioned - the steam shower - wasn’t working. It was late and after hours so we said we would just mention it at check out. When I went to bed that night, I noticed fur still in the sheets but was so tired, I didn’t worry about it (I have pets of my own so it is what it is). The next morning, a huge storm came through the beach. This showcased the leaks in the ceiling that were making various parts of the floor wet. The power was out and we couldn’t get in touch with the property management company - even though it was during their open hours - so we made the quick drive up there to figure out what to do and to also make sure they knew the power was out on the property. Since we’re local, we said we’d be happy to raincheck the weekend and come out at a later time or see if they had a different property that was comparable to the one that we were in but in better repair. They said they would just refund us and we could leave OR they could give us extra towels for the leaks in the ceiling. We took the refund, which is now causing more issues. But really? Towels for leaks in the roof? What if we were from out of town and just stuck? We had the luxury of leaving and taking the refund. We found out, though, that the refund wasn’t even half of what we paid for the total stay. We booked 3 nights and stayed less than 18 hours. I do NOT recommend staying so long as Paradise Beach runs it.
