We enjoyed a family reunion at this wonder house. Five adults and 4 children and there was lots of privacy, with 2 master suites and 2 other bedrooms, all big and beautifully furnished. Very big kitchen with everything one needs for cooking, plus a great bbq grill right on the lanai. Kids had a blast going to the pool just a few steps away. Our vacation was wonderful and we will certainly recommend this home to others. We will be back!

We were traveling with 6 adults (3 couples) and two children. The set up was great! The layout of the bedrooms was great. The kids getting up didn't wake up everyone. The Beach Club was a great place for everyone. The young kids had a low wave shoreline. The adults could snorkel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! It was a beautiful house, property and location. The pool is right down the road and easy to get to. Rooms are large and it fit our party of 10 very comfortably. I appreciated the property management greeting us before our arrival and letting us know they were "a text away" if we needed any help. We were short 3 beach towels for our party and they brought them within an hour of texting. (Great service!) The book of ideas to do while on the island was very helpful as well. The grill on the deck, extra propane bottle and beach gear in the garage was so handy for our large group as well! There was also plenty of kleenex, paper towels and toilet paper. We would definitely stay here again! The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star review was because: 1) The picture showed 6 bikes and we had 6 kids! However, there were only 4 bikes and we could not get two more even when we asked. 2) The carpets, baseboards, and couches could use a good shampoo/scrub down. For the most part, it was very clean. However the shower curtain in the bathroom downstairs was very dirty, bath mats could have been washed, and carpet shampooed. 3) The surrey bike was broken. Again, something that was in the pictures that we couldn't take advantage of. It was broken and they said the part was there, it just didn't get fixed in time to use it. I'm sure it will be ready for the next people that want to use it!

The Hawaiian Bliss house was perfect for two families. The amenities they provided such as bikes, snorkel gear, chairs and umbrellas came in handy daily for us. Very spacious to accommodate 9 of us. Community is beautiful and well kept up. Thank you for a great time!!

This was our second visit to this property. It’s perfect for families or a few couples. All the amenities you need. The beach club is amazing!

This home was just the right size for us, 4 adults and 5 kids ranging in age from 3 to 8. Beach gear was all there in the garage which was super helpful. pool was close by, and beach club and beaches also just a short drive away. It was great to have the lanai to have breakfast in the morning, and the kitchen to have all the amenities as well, even a rice cooker! such an amazing vacation, thank you!

We had 6 adults/ 3 children, and the Sand Castle Villa was just perfect. All the beds were very comfortable and having the garage full of chairs, umbrellas, bikes, boogie boards and snorkel gear made life easy. The Mauna Lani beach club was perfect for our little ones and an easy 10 min. drive away. We enjoyed the large kitchen, as well as the outdoor BBQ and had most of our dinners at home. Although we didn't get to swim in the community pool, we did use the gym, which is an easy 5 min. walk within the complex. We would definitely go back, and highly recommend staying at the Sand Castle Villa.

We stayed at Sand Castle Villa with our family of 9, including two kids aged 2 and 6. The house is beautiful and very well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook multiple courses. We love to cook so having a kitchen that even had spices so we didn’t need to buy them was a bonus. The large covered lanai in the back was a really nice place to enjoy our breakfast and evenings with family. We are really picky about beds when we travel after years of business travel. Sand Castle beds must be brand new as they felt amazing. This is a really big deal. Sometimes it’s little things like having board games to play with the kids after a fun day at the beach. The home has adult and kids bikes. There is a Surrey family bike which is not dedicated to the home. It’s shared so make sure you ask ahead. We had to wait a couple of days as other families were using it but it was fun for photos but lots of work. My recommendation is to go out in the morning when it’s cooler and make sure your kids are willing to help pedal so mom and dad don’t have to do all the work. We were a little worried about the news of the volcano but were relieved when we got to Hawaii that it was very far away and the skies were clear on the Kohala Coast. The owners are very responsive, clearly taking great pride in providing their guests with the best possible experience and planning for every interest and age group. They even volunteered a late checkout after hearing of our 9:00pm departure from the island. This has been our best VRBO experience by far.

We just came back from a wonderful holiday in Hawaii visiting multiple islands and this was the best location for our family of 9 (ages ranging 2 to 67). The home is elegant and large with lots of space for our multi-generation family. It has a wonderful large covered lanai with a grill. We were able to enjoy cooking in the home and playing games with our grandkids outdoors each day. The kitchen in this home had everything we have at home if not more which helped make the stay affordable. There was even spices and lots of supplies helping us avoid spending money on things we might not use a lot of. There are nice restaurants down the road but we saved by eating at home most days. After fun mornings at the beaches it was nice to bring our grandkids home for a nap and then take them to the community lagoon style pool that is just down the road. The covered area by the pool has tables and couches with lots of of shade. There is some construction in this new community but it was in far off in the distance and not near us. The large garage was very well equipped for our beach days. In addition to snorkel gear for adults and our older kids they even had a board with a viewing window so our littlest grandson could see the fish at the sheltered beach club. It was refreshing to come stay at a home where everything was clean and new. Jeff and Suzanne and their team were very responsive and gave us great tips for where to snorkel and other inexpensive things to do. They also live close by and popped over to show us how to use the TV when we wanted to watch Netflix one evening. All in all one of our best vacation rentals ever. We can’t wait to come back next year.

The reason for this negative review is not the home itself but the owners and the management company. We arrived on a Wednesday, the home is lovely and located on a "finished" street. When we walked into the house we were very pleased. We put our bags down and went straight out to see our view, which was an open work site (including a portable toilet, 1 worker just urinated right in front of us). Needless to say we were very dissapointed. This is the part of the home we intended to use all of the time. We are a party of five adults and a 1 year old.Traveling with a baby is good fun as long as you can have a quiet place for naps and a place to relax while they do. We didn't immediatly react, that happened at 6:45 AM Thursday. The cement trucks started rolling in, a foundation was poured right in our view. I called the office at 7:30 AM. I had to move to the the other side of the house to hear the person I spoke to. I was very upset, my family saved for a year for this vacation. My two daughters are young, this was a big expenditure for them. The assoc. of Jeffery and Suzanne asked me if I had been to the pool or the Beach Club? No, its 7:30 AM! A total lack of understanding to our situation. She kept saying we were on a finished street, yes, we were on a finished street on the front of the house but we didn't plan on spending our vacation in the garage. Thursday was horrific, noise and view wise. Friday was better in that there was no concrete being poured but there was work done, Sat.and Sun. quiet, Mon. and Tues. light work was done. I asked the management company for a consideration on our rental fee, which as you can see is not inexpensive. I asked for 1 night free and 15% discount on the rest of our nights. We felt this was fair as we had NO warning as to the construction. We rented our house over a year before. Jeffrey and Suzanne could have called us to let us know what to expect. We could have cancelled up to 60 days before we arrived. They just didnt care enough about our holiday. We travelled with 25 other people, 3 other houses. 2 of those houses were also impacted by the traffic noise of all of the construction in this deveolpement. The home across from our friends, the renters were given two weeks notice to an open worksite, again no chance to cancel. They just didnt care enough to even respond to my request. I would highly suggest not renting in this development, because of construction. I feel that this is a fair review.

Overall, the house was fantastic! It really worked well for our three generation family. The view from the lanai on a clear day includes the Kohalo Ridge and the mountains of East Maui. Grocery shopping was super convenient, and we ate dinner out at Brown’s Beach House at the Fairmont, Tommy Bahamas, and Napau at the Beach Club (all require an on-line reservation). It was a bit of a drive to Kailua-Kona and points south, but we managed. The house had all the Beach gear we needed. I loved that Hapuna Beach was so close...truly the best Beach on the Big Island. Overall, one of our favorite stays in Hawaii.

The house is great and is stocked with a lot of amenities (snorkel gear, bikes, boogie boards) that make it really easy to slip into island life. The pool (short walk) and beach (drive) were not as close as we were anticipating, but they were great when we got there.

The home was beautifully decorated with an amazing attention to detail. The owners thought of everything from spices in the kitchen to beach toys and bikes. They had everything you could want for a Hawaiian vacation, but wouldn't be able to bring in your luggage. We ate most meals on the lanai. Having two master bedrooms was a real plus as there were three generations of family on this trip. The bathtub in the downstairs masters was amazing. I only have two minor details I think the owners should work on. The stairs inside are very slippery so watch your step. Maybe a strip of non slip edging that matches the wood could be added. And I was surprised there wasn't a way to rinse off at the entry. We did the best we could to ensure our feet were sand free before entering and walking on the gorgeous wooden floors but a little spigot by the front door would have made it much easier. There is a bench just inside the front door for removing your shoes and storing them. It is Hawaii after all. But those are two minor details compared to an otherwise flawless vacation home. Having now experienced vacationing in a home with all the space, convenience, and comfort, I don't think I'll ever want to stay in a hotel room again. And if we come back to the big island, I hope to rent this exact home again.

Five friends who have been traveling together for years stayed at Sand Castle. We had a wonderful time. Jeff and Suzanne were a pleasure to deal with throughout the booking and during our stay. The house is clean, the beds are comfortable, the lanai is perfect and the kitchen is a dream. The grocery store is nearby. The beach club was beautiful with excellent snorkelling. We would highly recommend this accommodation!
