This property is exceptional. Located in a safe gated community right on the beach. 4 equally sized masters made it easy to split with friends. Julie our chef was incredible and so accommodating to our needs. Masha took care of us and was available any time we needed her. Can not say enough, we will definitely be staying here the next time we are in Playa.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Callaway during our spring break. We had 8 people including 4 teens and it was a perfect vacation home right on the beach. Our hostess, Masha, was super attentive before and during our stay. Our chef, Julie, was wonderful and we enjoyed her immensely. Our housekeeper was also so reliable and kept our house so tidy. We are grateful our trip was so enjoyable.

We had a wonderful time at Casa Callaway. Our host Masha was super attentive and responsive to any need or question we had. Our chef Julie was a wonderful cook and a delight to speak with. The only complaints we had were the hot tub motor was not working, the pergola was taken down and the day bed on the beach was broken. The staff did make sure to have 2 umbrellas poolside to help with shade. Nothing that ruined our trip but I think we should been made aware of these things before arrival. Other than that, the location was great! We could walk to town in 15 minutes or less.

Super service from start to finish

This trip was intended for my hubby's 50th birthday bash with family and friends. Masha, the house manager ensured that his birthday was nothing short of memorable. She had balloons and a cake waiting for him on his actually birthday. Masha was great add scheduling our transportation from and to the airport, she and Julianna, the chef had a welcoming dinner (which was absolutely delicious) and tasty margaritas for us the day of arrival. Masha also scheduled the physician to come to the Villa for our COVID tests. That was a piece of cake and very convenient for us. Let's get back to Chef Julianna, whoa!! Her food was magnificent. We choose to do breakfast and lunch each day with a few dinners. Everything was fresh and needless to say delicious! Marabella (housekeeper) came each day with a huge smile on her face. She swept, mopped, cleaned each bedroom/bathroom and did laundry each day. She didn't speak English, but she didn't need to. She was amazing! I would definitely return to Casa Callaway for future vacations. Thank you for all that you guys did to make my hubby's 50th one to remember,

Wonderful experience. The house was what we expected. The manager, Masha, a very nice girl was always willing to help at any time for whatever reason. The cooking from Chef Julie was delicious 💯, amazing breakfasts and lunches! . The cleaning lady, Mary, was also very nice and helpful, she had the house spotless. The only little thing that was not perfect is that the jacuzzi was not working…. It would have been nice to use it at night. We definitely would go back to rent Casa Callaway !

This property was on the beach as listed with a pool and hot tub. The cook was amazing and always provided great meals for our family (5). This property is located between two public beach access routes. There was some traffic on the sides of the house and some questionable characters which was not ideal with small children in the pool area. We had a good time but I wouldn’t recommend for families with young children (location).

First, let me start by saying my family has rented many different beachfront homes in Mexico over the last 6 years (mostly Puerto Vallarta, Sayulita, San Jose del Cabo and now Playa del Carmen) so we've been through the drill before. We truly enjoyed our time at Casa Callaway and highly recommend it! Pros: +The location in the Playacar neighborhood is great - it's walkable (~15-20 mins) or an easy taxi to the main restaurant/shopping area in Playa, it feels very safe, and of course the house is right on the beach. +The beach has lovely powdery sand, the water is clear and warm, and very swimmable. There is quite a bit of activity on the beach (massage stand, sky divers landing, etc) but it's not overcrowded or crazy like some other places. It's just enough activity to be entertaining but does not take away from the relaxing atmosphere of the house. The Casa is between another house and resort. +Proximity to activities - we were able to rent jet skis, go fishing and do some amazing snorkeling. We also did a day trip to Chichen Itza which was totally worth it. +The food was amazing. Chef Mireya does a wonderful job cooking breakfast and lunch. And it was very affordable. In hindsight, had we known how affordable it would be, we would have asked her to stay and do some dinners for us. (We had gotten burned on a previous vacation at another house with a huge food bill at the end which probably tainted us). +The pool is nice. It's not heated, but doesn't need to be. A previous reviewer mentioned issues with the jacuzzi. The jacuzzi worked just fine when we were there. It takes awhile to heat up (60 mins) but otherwise it's great. +The staff (Masha, Mireya, Marbella) are very friendly and welcoming. Cons -There aren't many cons of staying here. Is the house a little tired? Perhaps. But it's very clean and well maintained. -As with all houses we've rented in Mexico, there are sometimes minor issues. At Casa Callaway, the lock on the outer gate had some issues, but the house manager Masha was on top of it and had it fixed right away. -If you can, it's better to communicate directly with the chef on meals and grocery items vs. going through the house manager. One day we ended up with some meals that were not what we requested because of that. It's best to communicate with Chef Mireya in Spanish (we had a few Spanish speakers in our group). Masha's English is great and she is super responsive. Overall we had a lovely stay and would certainly return!

We had a great vacation but were somewhat disappointed in the house itself. We stayed in a condo in Punta Mita last year (on the beach) for about same price and the place was far nicer. This place is a great location on a fantastic beach but the house itself needs a lot of attention. The Jacuzzi did not work and had not according to the notes for a while. Minimal amount of closet space. TVs were difficult to work, Woodwork was falling apart. The staff and house manager were great. Compared to last year’s staff they were fantastic. We stayed in early June. We had 4 adults and 6 young teenagers. Albeit hot, the house has plenty of evening shade. There is access to beach massage, skydiving, water sports, etc. the staff (Masha, Marbella, and Mireya) are all great! The only challenge was the sargassum in the ocean. This is nothing anyone can control however, it does deter the desire to be in the water. It didn’t slow the kids down at all. Overall, a fabulous house, staff, stay!

We spent a week at Casa Callaway in late May and had an absolutely amazing experience! With 6 adults and one toddler, the home was spacious, clean and offered all of the amenities we could ever need. The beach location was gorgeous and the pool was perfect. Even better than the home itself is the staff who supports it. Mireya the house chef was magnificent. Every meal she made was delicious and she was incredibly kind and caring to our little one. Masha the house manager was incredibly helpful with recommendations for activities, dining and helping organize transportation. The only downside of the vacation was the seaweed on the beach which made it basically impossible to swim in the ocean. We highly recommend this home for any families looking for a relaxing vacation for a group.

We brought our three adult daughters with friends seven of us in total and have the most wonderful vacation. The house was perfect immaculately kept clean and our daily meals were prepared with perfection and more delicious than any restaurant we went to Masha, the house manager was wonderful and available any time to help and assist with any of our needs. The house was well air-conditioned with great access to the patio. With the strong sun during the day we lacked enough shade due to a broken awning and only one umbrella but that was supposed to be repaired There is a lot of action on the beach right next to and in front of the house so if you are looking for total seclusion this is not the right location but have to say it was quite fun watching the sky divers land literally right in front of you. Easy walk to town and to catch the ferry which we did one day and went to Cozumel We would definitely come back again and book this house thank you Casa Callaway!

We had a fantastic time at “Casa Calloway”. Not only is the location exceptional, but the staff is incredible. Masha assists with everything and anything you need, Mirabella keeps the home immaculate and the meals created with love by Mireya and simply fantastic. We didn’t have a car and were perfectly fine walking into town (about a mile) or taking taxis. Our family simply had an amazing and relaxing week.

8 adults stayed in hone with ample water pressure, hot water and reliable internet, satellite and power. Home over looks the sea and $8 taxi ride to playa.

Can't say enough good things about Casa Callaway, the house and location would be tough to beat. The gated community and ongoing security presense (they stay in the background) was an extra bonus with our young children. Satuday nights with the music from the Riu next door was a little loud but it shut down by 11pm, no issues with this the other nights. However, what made our stay and overall experience truley great was the level service Diego (Maya Luxe property manager), Ara (house manager), Mireya (Cook) and America (Assistant) provided. Day or night they were always available to answer questions, help with whatever we needed, were never NOT smiling, the breakfast, lunches, mid afternoon sacks and dinners were outstanding. Cleaning crew did a great job and we hardly saw them while they were there. We've stayed in many higher end vacation rentals, the level of service we received and the overall experience they provided was the best we've had to date.

We stayed at Casa Calloway for 8 days, for my Birthday, absolutely everything we could have hoped for, the chef was just fantastic, delicious food, and cooked to perfection every time, the house was everything we hoped for too, waking up to the ocean view every morning and the comfort of the house the house keeping was top notch, every day had clean towels, bathrooms, entire house, I highly recommend this house rental if you are on a vacation for comfort, privacy and all you could ask for, we have stayed at many resort and probably never will again we will definately stay here again, thank you for letting us enjoy this home and its surroundings. Went with a group of friends and KICKED IT at Casa Callaway end of November/first of December, 2012. It was the best vacation of our lives. We've been to 30+ islands and been a die-hard fan for cruising but this topped it all. The house was amazing. The ocean view and access is amazing. The water is amazing. Just enough people on the beach to not feel isolated but not too many so that you feel crowded either. It was very private but social. The perfect balance. 3 of the 4 bedrooms face the ocean - the best part was waking up and being able to watch the sun rise over the ocean without even having to get out of bed. The house is loaded with tons and tons of windows and glass doors so that the sunlight just explodes throught the house! The a/c keeps the house nice and cold but it's almost better to just open everything up and let that Caribbean breeze blow through! The location is great - you can get around nicely and get everything you need/want... without having to go too far. One of the best things was the cook. If you are so lucky as to stay at Casa Callaway - you cannot accept any less than the best... YOU HAVE TO INSIST ON MIERYA FOR YOUR COOK!!! She is AWESOME!!! Her homemade salsa's and guacamole's will quickly become your favorite! And let's not even talk about her Margarita's and Mojito's!!! Just having her there was special - she is just pure sweetness!!! And you know that she cooks for you just like you were her own family! You can choose your own menu or let Mierya surprise you and you will not be disappointed! The maids keep the house clean and fresh beds every day... it just doesn't get any better than this. The friends that we went with... they had been there before and I had to hear them talk about it for 2 whole years before we got to go and see it for ourselves and it was worth the wait! You cannot go wrong at Casa Callaway - We can't wait to go back!!! We will go back again and again!!! Worth every penny - had the time of our lives!!!

What a wonderful experience! This property was everything it was advertised to be! The staff is world class. From check-in until we left we felt totally pampered. The chef is world class. We were blown away with her selection and skills. We ate on 5th ave one evening and quickly learned that was a mistake. Just let her do your shopping and you sit back and enjoy! We ate at Casa Calloway the rest of the trip. The maid and the house manager were equally as impressive, they took care of our every need. This was the first time I felt like my trip did not fly by. We were so relaxed that our 9 day trip seemed like two weeks. We were totally in control of our vacation. We loved being next to the Reef resort it was great people watching. Wave runners and fishing boats were always close. For you golfers do not be afraid of the PlayaCar golf course. Everyone says it is so hard, I am a 15 handicap and it was not that scarry. Enjoy the course, and it is definetly very reasonable compared to some of the other courses. The beach is greatly improved from the hurricane problems. It was very nice and relaxing. Wow! Wow! Wow! This was an awesome vacation! My husband and I stayed at Casa Callaway with 3 other couples and were blown away by our experiences. Lets start with the house...can you say beautiful???? Waking up every morning walking out on the patio, staring at the beach and hearing the waves crashing was the best. I was so relaxing. Mireyada (sp?) the cook was fanatastic we had a meeting amongst ourselves to see how we could bring her back to the states with us...she is FABO! There was not a meal that was not exquisite. The massage ladies were so wonderful that after we ladies of the group raved about the them we decided to have them come back for couple massages...how relaxing and just what we all needed. Lets not forget Amelia the cleaning lady who did a thorough and fantastic job of having our house smell so fresh and so clean every single day of our stay. Please, please, please tip these wonderful people well b/c they so deserve it! We are already planning to come back in two years (because we already have a trip scheduled for December 2011) but this time we are staying 2 WEEKS!!!!!

We stayed at Casa Callaway Sept. 16th 2009. The place is amazing we have been staying in resorts in Playa for 15 years and have never had a vacation like this one. My whole family was thrilled with the staff and property. The pictures show you exactly what to expect and once you get settled in you will feel like you just won the lottery. The only complaint we had the whole time was there AC in the common area was not comfortable but we used one of the extra rooms to play cards in the evening. I would reccomend the cook she will make you feel like you are in the lap of luxery but just tell her what you want and let her got to the store. You can make a trip on your own for snack food she will be able to meet you needs without the 2 hour trip to Wal Mart. It has been 10 days since we came back and we are still talking about what a great time we had it seemed to last 2 weeks since you had the freedom to do what you wanted when you wanted. The house was spotless and the perfect locaiton. Thank you Casa Callaway for the vacation of a lifetime, see you next year!
