The cabin was perfect for our group of 12. The fishing and kayaking on the pond was better than we could ask for. As for the cabin, the pictures do not do justice. The cabin was huge, with plenty of seating. The detail and woodwork inside and outside of the cabin was absolutely gorgeous. Cathy was also great. Any question that we asked was promptly responded to. We are already planning another trip here for next year.

We loved the cabin. Lots of space for everyone. Very rustic and peaceful. We did a lot of fishing and caught many different fish. It was very windy the whole time we were there but we still found things to do. Would love to come back

Nice place for a family, not fancy but quiet and big enough for a larger group.

The location and cabin is great. There wasn't any communication on how to check in or what was needed to check out which was inconvenient. Also, the dock and kayaks are across the lake, and no instructions on how to get there, so we drove over a mowed path. I thought this stuff would be in the backyard of the cabin to still be able to participate from the deck of the cabin but that's not the case. The pond is also muddy, not great for littles or swimming. There is Lake Anita near by though which was great.

The view was amazing. Pond was amazing. Lodge was amazing. Everything was great. Just be aware of the high back dining chairs. Everyone kept bumping their arms on it and it hurted! My family couldn't find the exact location because the turn to the lodge was a little hidden by corn field. Would definitely help if there was some sort of sign. Overall, it was a great weekend and beautiful cabin.

We came to town for a golf trip. everyone in our group really enjoyed the lodge. Plenty of space beautiful views. we wil be back.

This cabin is as warm and inviting as they come. Nice and quiet. Plenty of room to gather as a family and plenty of room to roam if you need a little exercise or hiking. It could not have been nicer.

We celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas and stayed 4 nights here with our Family. Everything was Perfect!! The cabin was decorated beautifully for the holidays and everything was here that we needed!! We would definitely recommend this Beautiful Cabin !!!

This property was the perfect spot for our college friend reunion that included 5 different families with young kids. It was wonderful to have spacious rooms on the various levels of the house - we never felt overcrowded or on top of each other. We enjoyed the large porch and yard that gave a good amount of variety to the space we could use and the activities for the families and kids. We appreciated Kathie stopping by the house to make sure everything was good and the communication during our visit with questions. I would highly recommend this property!

It was great that there were enough beds for 18 of us. The kids had a great time kayaking I the pond. Cookware in the kitchen was a joke, must have come from grandma's garage sale. Not adequate to cook for 18 people! Small frying pans, an electric skillet and/or a griddle would be nice. Good thing we brought one and a grill because the one there is small and disgusting. Not as clean as expected; dusty, bugs in the cookware and dirty linens left in the downstairs bedroom under the laundry shoot. A cigarette butt under the sofa cushion and an empty beer can downstairs under the couch. Had to use my garbage bags til more were supplied and it was suggested we reuse towels, not at that price!!

Eclectic and comfortable lodge settings away from all the hustle and bustle. Very much enjoyed our time here with 4 other families on a relaxing long weekend.

Overall this was perfect for our annual family gathering. There was plenty of sleeping spaces and the common spaces were also comfortable. My nieces and nephews didn’t want to leave. The outdoor chairs and porch were nice and the view was amazing. The fire pit area was especially awesome.

We had a great stay at Kathie's cabin in Anita! Plenty of beds. Lake Anita State Park just a minute away was a great perk, too. Would recommend to others!

The view is very nice. I was little bit disappointed that i had to sweep and mop the floors when we got there but over all it was a nice place to stay. We all had a bed to sleep in, which was very nice. Everyone enjoyed the fireplaces too. The décor was a little different, but I'm sure someone else would like it as we all have different tastes in life. We chose not to use the dish washer as there isn't a garbage disposal and it had a film on the inside. Kathie did check in on us to see if everything was ok. That was a nice gester.

My immediate family didn't stay overnight at the lodge but my sisters families did. We all spent most of our time there during the day. The kitchen area was well furnished. Crestwood Hills Golf Course is close so we had a family tournament. We loved sitting on the deck overlooking the beautiful pond. The grandsons loved exploring in the kayaks. The fire pit was a big hit too. One family member was heard commenting they couldn't believe they were in Iowa!

Overall, great place to stay for a large group. Plenty of room (rooms and bedrooms) and the scenery was great to sit on the deck for entertaining. Kathie was very pleasant and easy to work with (we needed to check in early and leave later than normal due to flights/travel schedules). Some suggestions to consider is that the electrical can be tricky at times (we were warned by Kathie) even though we were careful not to plug in too many appliances within a room like the kitchen. Nonetheless, the circuit got tripped in the upstairs bathroom (we had to shower in the dark) and the kitchen (dishwasher). Everytime a circuit got tripped, we had to call Kathie since we didn't have access to the circuit breaker box. Finally, there is no laundry facility onsite. This wasn't in the listing, so if you read the listing carefully, it won't have it. We just missed that on the list and assumed there would be laundry facilities (so we started running out of clothes). Finally, it was a little difficult to find. There are no signs on the road (i.e. address of otherwise) and everyone of us got lost the first time trying to locate the lodge. The driveway winds around the corner behind trees so the lodge isn't visible from the road. Even the locals who lived in the area had a difficult time locating the lodge. Otherwise, a very pleasant experience.

Sleeps many couples comfortably. Owner was easy to work with. Will probably go there again.

This place has the amenities of home, with a rustic and relaxing setting. We had plenty of room for our 16 guests and enjoyed the property so much. Also enjoyed a drink a Shooters Tavern downtown Anita. Would highly recommend.

Overall, we had a pretty good stay at Antler Hill Lodge. Pros: + Amazing views over the pond and countryside of Iowa. The deck is great for watching sunrises + Everything we expected was provided: linens, towels, cookware (although limited), campfire and grill equipment + Large place with several bedrooms and many beds + A lot of the building was made of exposed wood Cons: - Some of the beds were uncomfortable - The circuit breakers for the electrical sockets in the fridge were tripped by the electric skillet provided (many times!). The kitchen electrical setup needs updated - The owners were difficult to communicate with and not very accommodating when we needed help with the electrical issue - Some of the furniture is dated.
