Great location, plenty of room, well stocked for indoors and out of doors. Larger than large (XL) recreation area. We enjoyed the fire pit at night with seating for 10 plus. Perfect lake chain and docking for our pontoon. Owner was quick to respond to all questions, and provided valuable information. We Highly recommend this home. You will totally enjoy the experience, but don’t try to reserve the week we were there because we already reserved it for next year.

We had a wonderful time at this property. This house exceeded our expectations based on the listing. The house is completely stocked with everything that you could ask for and more. The owners are responsive and kind, quickly ready to solve any minor issues that we had. We had four adults and 3 kids 11 and under and this was the perfect place for us.

Property was clean, the house was very nice. Just a little disappointed in the beach and lake. It had said 12 feet of clarity in the lake and I would say it was about 2 feet. So we didn’t swim and for the kids that was a big piece

My family had a great trip to the area. We were able to dock the boat and have easy access to the Gull chain. Great location with all the amenities needed for a great experience. Thanks for the memories!

We really enjoy staying at this Lake Nisswa getaway! Each one of us has a favorite event or activity. The 8 and 5 year old grandkids like playing on the beach and tubing on the lake. Our granddaughter learned to water ski this year, which was exciting for all of us! Each night we end the day with a campfire with singing and music around the fire. It sounds corny, but it really is fun and special. I love our early morning excursions thru the channels looking for photo opportunities of wildlife! Then there is always just relaxing with a good book down by the beach! Randy and Cathy have all the little touches available as well: flipflops to sunglasses as well as kayaks, firewood, and bikes! I don’t often use the phrase “exceeds expectations” but this one certainly deserves it. The house and property are simply amazing. The photos in the listing are accurate but don’t compare to actually being there. For being a lake property, the house has all of the modern amenities and then some. Everything is updated beyond what we would expect for this type of property. Craftsmanship and pride are demonstrated throughout. Outside, is an expansive lot and beautiful setting overlooking Nisswa Lake. The use of the dock was perfect for the small fishing boat we rented for the week. We were able to land some sizable bass as well as the elusive Northern Pike we have been after for years. The channel to other lakes on the Gull chain is very handy. We made regular use of the available kayaks. While we had our own bikes with us, the bikes available with the property were in excellent condition. There is no lack of entertainment available inside as well. From multiple TVs to board games, to the pool table, we had everything we needed for the one rainy day we had during the week. The kitchen is extremely well stocked and had everything we were looking for (including 3 crock pots…with liners!) In addition to our family of four, we had another couple with us. The house was setup perfectly for our situation with common areas and privacy as needed. The ample air conditioning was an added bonus. There were a couple other surprises that I won’t mention. You’ll just have to go and see for yourself. We are very familiar with the Nisswa area and have visited for many years. This property was beyond what we have experienced in the past and is highly recommended. I also can’t say enough about Randy’s communication. I had messaged him several times with questions in the months leading up to our stay. He is very responsive. I’m always a bit nervous about receiving the check-in instructions. Randy’s instructions came in ample time and were super easy to follow. There was also a book of information provided about the property and area. There were also very clear instructions posted in key areas throughout. It is no surprise that he has Premier Host status. Thanks for a great vacation!

This is our second stay at this Lake Nisswa lake home. Randy answered any questions we had prior to our visit and during our visit in a timely fashion. In fact, he always answered text messages in less than 5 minutes. All furniture and beds are in nice clean condition and comfortable. For rainy days they have games and 3 TV's. I would highly recommend this home for anyone to stay at. Very responsive owner.

This is a fantastic home in Nisswa. It had a large yard and easy lake access. The home was very well stocked. Bedrooms were comfortable. Owner was quick to respond to basic questions. No complaints. Would highly recommend.

This was year two for us at Nisswa Lake, and our stay was even better than last year! The weather was perfect for boating, tubing, playing in the lake and taking a few nature walks. My grandchildren love playing on the sand beach and fishing off of the dock. I enjoy wildlife photography, and love that the deer and eagles are right outside my window many days! We hope to make 2021 year number three!

Has everything you need for all ages and then some. Close to town and Wendy's. Lol. Peaceful lake, fire pit by lake and house. We hope to have our 3rd Year. Thanks Randy.

We really enjoyed our stay at the lake! Randy and Cathy have a very nice, clean home, and they have provided all of the touches that we may have wanted or needed at the lake. Because of the location, we saw eagles, ospreys, deer, ducks, many geese and even a raccoon . There is a sandy beach for the little kids to play on. For swimming, we dove off of our boat out on the lake. We enjoyed several camp fires, too. We had a great time!

We have for several years now had a family vacation every summer usually 9 to 10 peolpe. Always renting a property for 6 days up north on a lake. We have been looking for the one place to rent every year. The one everyone always want to go back to. Well this year we think we have found it. Beautiful home amazing owners and the family had an amazing time. Everyone looks forward to summer family vacation all year long. We will be back here next year and for many years to come.

Randy and Cathy have a beautiful home on lake Nisswa we have rented from them for 2 years now and it’s bern wonderful they are so easy to work with and there home is fully stocked with everything you need I recommend this property highly

This place met all of our expectations and more! Randy did a great job communicating to us throughout the process and was extremely accommodating. The house and property are beautiful. The house had all the amenities we needed and was extremely spacious. Our kids especially loved the beach toys, bikes, kayaks and fishing right off the dock. The 2 different bonfire locations are great and the 10 new camping chairs we got to use. We highly recommend renting this place!

This was my first VRBO experience and I was really impressed. Randy and Cathy were very responsive with all our questions before we got there and got back to us very quickly. The house was super clean and had a lot of amenities…lots of beach and bath towels, plenty of soaps and dish soaps, books and games and even some bath toys for the little one. It really felt like we lived there and we got really comfortable fast. We only had to pack clothes for half the week since we could wash them there. The morning the loons were out and we got to see a pair of bald eagles fishing early one evening. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked great. Would love to see all the beds turn into queens/kings as full beds are a little small for 2 adults. There was though, lots of sleeping options so that was appreciated. My 2.5 year old granddaughter enjoyed the yard/beach and they had just purchased 4 adult bikes and a kid carrier so we did not have to bring all that up. There was not much traffic on their road so it was really peaceful. There is not really much for swimming as there are Lily pads all over other than a small area that is cleared out. That didn’t bother us as we would head over to Roy Lake or Gull Lake sand bars when we wanted to swim. It would be good for little kids. The kayaks were fun as they are on a little channel that we could paddle around in. We caught many little fish so it is great for kids that do not have the patience. Very close to the grocery and shopping so the convenience was great for anything we needed. We also enjoyed our boat rides to Gull Lake as it was nice and relaxing going through the channels to the lakes. The water is pretty shallow by the dock and our 21ft boat just made it. They do have nice bumpers on the dock so that was helpful. There is a new lake access just across the lake so that was easy to get the boat in and out of the water. TW

Our 2 families (4 adults, 4 boys (ages 2-6)) rented for a week in July. Randy was incredibly well responsive and accommodating throughout. Following some conversation he even purchased 4 brand new adult bikes and a child carrier in advance of our visit as we expressed some interest in biking into town with our 2 year old. Our experience was fantastic. HOUSE While the property is by no means NEW, Randy has made some very nice updates to parts of the property including (kitchen, bathrooms, etc). The space as a whole (split level house), sets up really well for two families to have 2 separate spaces for kids and adults which we really enjoyed. The house is also incredibly well stocked with almost anything you would need. OUTDOOR The yard and beach were incredible for what we were looking for in a summer, up north, beach vacation. The kids spent every day at the beach and had a great time. We did bring our own beach toys and such however on our last day I did notice some small things in the entry way closet (water toys and maybe other) that would have been useful. The yard was great to play whiffle ball, throw the Frisbee or football, or play other lawn games. The 4 adult kayaks were also fantastic. We docked a boat for the week at the dock provided by the beach and it worked out fantastic. There was a large stock of wood for making fires in the fire pit which the families enjoyed in the mornings and evenings. Also a plethora of camp chairs to bring to the beach or put around the fire. There was very little that we had to bring from home as the property was so well outfitted. We did bring a canopy which we put down by the beach for the week to provide some shade for adults and kids. Note that the yard is low lying and will stay damp or spongy with rainfall. Additionally you may have goose visitors at times. None of which came as surprise/inconvenience to us considering the property LOCATION Relaxed, up north lake vacation while being close to shopping/town/events, this property has it both. While nisswa is very central to many things in the brainard lakes area we stuck within a 10 mile radius. We enjoyed the short 2 mile bike ride into Nisswa to visit breweries or turtle races. Grocery and liquor store are just about 2 miles away. The location on the Gull chain of lakes allows for boating to places like sand bars/zorbas/bar harbor. That being said, the property is so big that you still feel a very private, up north, lake feel.

All that was promised and more. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a quiet stay that is moments away from the action.

We had a group of 9 and this cabin was the perfect size for us. We had plenty of space and everything we needed. The kayaks were wonderful. The view was spectacular and the there was so much privacy. I would highly recommend this property.

This property is in a very peaceful lake, so you can relax by he lake, take a boat ride through the lakes or stroll down Main Street in Nisswa that is just a mile away. Plenty of night time activities if you need over on Gull Lake. Very clean and well kept property with all we could have asked for on vacation.

Our family had a fabulous time during our stay at this property! The days were not long enough for our party of 4 adults and 3 children. From boating, swimming, fishing, using the kayaks provided, grilling and evening campfires activity was plentiful. The yard is large so we could put up our badminton/volleyball net and there were several outdoor games provided. It was easy to navigate the bays - we boated to Zorbas one evening and to the beach on Gull Lake one afternoon. The house and property were very clean and comfortable. The house was well stocked with paper products, kitchen supplies, dishes, utensils, towels and linens. The property provides privacy without isolation. Our family all gave the thumbs up on this vacation stay!

The property was excellent, very upscale and full of amenities. Worth every penny and would definitely stay again. Great location, isolated enough to not worry about disturbing neighbors but easy to get to town.

A group of us stayed at Randy's home. It was more than what we expected. The property is close to all attractions in the area, and Randy is more than welcoming. If you are looking for a place to entertain and impress your guests from out of town this is the place to stay. Thank you for everything Randy.

This place did not let down one bit! From the beautiful property to the cleanliness of the home and awesome owner Randy, this place was perfect for our girls getaway weekend! The beach was nice, clean and a perfect spot for us to hang out during the day, and we even took some kayaks out! The beds, couches and in general - the home is very comfortable. Proximity to the local restaurants and bars was also great. Will definitely visit this property again!

The property was very pretty, convenient to shops, etc. No complaints there. However, the negatives are plenty-the black hair found in the lower level bed was less than desirable and the back bedrooms upstairs were very hot. The interactions with the owner were extremely disappointing as well. We had very little hot water, only enough for 2 people a day to have a luke warm shower. We sent an email regarding this. The owner responded he would have someone come look at it and that it had happened to other guests before so it was a known issue. Nobody came to look at it. He said he would give us some of our $ back and we agreed that was fair. However, after we checked out, I started receiving multiple, harassing emails from Randy saying the "house was trashed" and sending pictures of things that were there when we arrived saying we had damaged them. Example-the lower level sink in the kitchenette, the top of the pool table. My requests for "before and after" pictures showing the damage were ignored. Instead, I continued to receive emails accusing us of having "an unauthorized motorhome" parked in the driveway. And "SIX BOTTLES OF MUSTARD LEFT IN THE FRIDGE! SO THERE MUST HAVE BEEN MORE THAN 6 PEOPLE HERE" (yes, in all caps)! I told him we had guests come off and on while we were there, including my brother and his family who drove their motor home. I asked him where in the contract it stated that was not allowed and he never replied. Instead, he did not reimburse us for not having any hot water and he also kept our full security deposit. After several harassing emails, I asked him not to contact us again. I have used VRBO for several family vacations and have never had one single incident. Never had a security deposit unreturned. This was a terrible experience. We were treated very poorly and it definitely put a sour taste in our mouth for future trips. Certainly would not recommend this rental to anyone.
