Turtle Tide is very cozy. Great view, clean and comfy. Perfect place to catch the morning dolphin show. Thanks to Gene and his wife for allowing our stay and the souvenir cups were a great touch! Would love another stay.

My wife and I stayed in this vacation rental while we ran the OBX marathon. Absolutely beautiful get away spot. Perfectly located for great dining. While recovering from the race we enjoyed watching movies with the ocean in view from the couch. Definitely a great place to relax and enjoy the outer banks.

Perfect spot, right on the KDH / NH line. Direct beach access from the balcony is amazing. Place was as advertised and very clean upon arrival. Gene even hooked us up with some Turtle Tides coffee mugs, a great subnet to remember the great time our family had!

Loved our stay at Turtle Tides! Everything was 100% as advertised and Gene is an excellent host—every single one of his recommendations was great. You cannot beat being literally steps from the beach.

It was clean and the living area was spacious. It was not "5 star" though - the countertop in the kitchen is peeling; the frig is pitted/stained. Doesn't affect the use, but not nice looking. TV service was spotty; internet went down for several hours. Overall, though, we enjoyed our stay.

The condo was beautifully decorated, clean, and the views were spectacular. The whole rental process from start to finish was seamless. The sheets and towels that were provided were an added bonus! The only thing I would suggest to enhance the experience would be either a larger bed (we are tall) or a more comfortable mattress. We will definitely be going back to stay there again!

Had a great time at Turtle Tides and we will definitely return. The beach was just steps away from the property. Conveniently located with privacy and quiet. Watched the sunrise most mornings from the property deck. Great place for a couple. For those wanting a change of pace from the ocean, the on site pool is a great addition. Unit is nicely furnished and decorated. Kitchen well equipped. Grocery stores and shopping nearby. Communication with Gene was excellent.

Our vacation was everything I had hoped for. The condo was beautifully decorated, very comfortable and clean. The views from the deck are amazing. We watched dolphins swimming in the ocean from our deck. Gene, the host, did an excellent job of preparing us for our visit by providing clear instructions, great recommendations and was available if we needed anything. This was my first time using VRBO as we always used hotels on vacation. I am sold, the warm home environment and thoughtful preparation of the condo beats a hotel. We will be back!

The owner communicated with us to make sure it was up to 5 star level and it was! Easy access. Perfect OBX location. We highly recommend this property. It was our first VRBO.

Excellent vrbo to rent in Kill Devil Hills area with oceanfront & ocean access. Very Clean. Only warning is there are a lot of steps to climb if that is an issue.

The property was beautiful and the view was spectacular! Our stay was relaxing and just what we wanted it to be. Neighbors were few but friendly and the penthouse was all we could ask for. Being in our late 60's the steps gave us a run for our money, but we got our daily excercise! We would rent it again.

Communication was easy! The place was very clean and super cute. Could not ask for a better ocean view.

Hubby and I love coming to OBX and this past week was fantastic. Turtle Tides had everything we needed and was close to great restaurants and shopping. We enjoyed the beach (which was just steps away) during the day and chose a different place to eat every evening. Turtle Tides was awesome. Great space, very clean, and we really enjoyed the deck. We were able to sit outside in the tall chairs until the sun went down. Thank you so much to the host. We really felt like we were visiting the home of a friend. Would recommend this place to anyone!

While we fully expected Turtle Tides to be accommodating based upon all of the high ranking reviews, we were beyond pleasantly surprised with what we found! We stayed 4 nights and can't wait to come back. Turtle Tides is a wonderfully unique and well equipped property located directly on the beach with private direct entrances for guests of this well kept property. Also easy access to great local restaurants and shops. We loved the atmosphere and location of Turtle Tides, and we really appreciate the high level of cleanliness in all aspects. Yes, there are a lot of steps, but as two fifty-somethings in fair-to-middling shape, we managed ok. Our visit absolutely exceeded expectations! Thanks, Gene!

Great place with a great view. It was exactly as described in the listing. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return to the Outer Banks someday.

Holly and Gene are wonderful hosts. Their condo is in beautiful shape. One king bed in the bedroom and a pull out couch with the view of the ocean. You walk up a couple flights of stairs to enter the lovely one bedroom condo. The view is spectacular of the ocean and you can walk down to the beach by the deck. We enjoyed waking up for the sunrise each morning and you could watch from the living room, deck or an easy walk down the stairs to the beach. You don’t get a view like this easily in the outer banks. We have been going many years to obx but this was our first time at this rental ans can’t wait to come back. I think it would be perfect for a honeymoon or anniversary too.

We really enjoyed our time at Turtle Tides in OBX! We stayed 4 nights the week before Easter and we couldn’t have been happier. The price was extremely reasonable for the beautiful location and Gene was incredibly helpful and responsive. We will stay again!

The location and ocean view is amazing! We went to Okracoke and Corolla- 2 different days - lots of fun. 5 Star Stay ? Only supplied 1 super thin towel and face cloth., that is embroideried- need more towels and thicker than a bar towel. Bed very comfy, couch is not! Need sharp knifes and lids for large pots. Warning!!! Lots of steps, lots of steps, but view is amazing — IF you don’t mind the cigarette smoke for year round tenant below deck. Very offensive and counters fresh ocean air. Condo was clean- I did address with Gene but he did not respond back . The smoke smell was disappointing - Thank you, Gene
