A cleanly, peaceful retreat for our visit to Florence and Muscle Shoals. We made most of our meals, and the kitchen was sufficiently stocked. The snacks and beverages provided were indeed a nice addition.
Our only disappointment was that we were only allowed six people in the home at any time, and had to make other arrangements for a place to visit with other family from Alabama. So that is something to keep in mind.

Loved that our rental was prestocked with drinks and snacks. Very quiet neighborhood. Always love no barking dogs. Close to everything we needed. Very comfortable inside. All amenities included. Plenty of parking and room inside. Just a very pleasant spot. Thanks.

We stayed two nights here and loved it. The house was exactly as listed and had tons of room. There were also drinks in the fridge and snacks on the counter. They also had a binder with information about the town, like restaurants and stores. It was very easy to communicate with the owners. I would love to stay here again.

We never stayed at this house because the owner double booked two families at the same time and we found that out after we had traveled 4 hours to get there. I had called to see why we haven’t received our code for our door and I was told we didn’t have any reservations and I told the owner yes we did because I had my confirmation emails, text messages and was charged back in April for the reservation. I also got text messages and emails up to the day of arrival from VRBO. Thank God we found another place to stay after hours of searching and panicking trying to find a somewhere. All I can say is apparently someone is not very organized.

The property was perfect for our 3 night stay. Close to town and the university. We appreciated the snacks and drinks when we arrived. The neighborhood is quiet. The beds were comfortable and we had plenty of room to spread out. Our hosts communicated responded quickly to any questions. We'd recommend Retreat on Roxie!

The perfect “landing spot”
We came to Florence for a wedding, but with small children (4 under 10), we didn’t want to make the drive back home afterwards since it would mean a very late night for them. So, we opted to stay in town overnight and I’m so glad I thought to check vrbo instead of cramming into a hotel room.
This property was lovely and relaxing. I wish we could have stayed longer.
A professional aside from my husband (an assistant fire chief) it would be good to add smoke detectors to every room. He didn’t check for one, but if there is no fire extinguisher in the kitchen, adding one would be great.

Great place for fishermen
Great property for people fishing Pickwick. Very clean, great host, high quality beds and ample boat parking with outlets for charging. About 14 minutes to McFarland Park so super convenient for tournament anglers. Close to restaurants, Walmart and gas stations. Priced very well and very safe neighborhood. Highly recommend

Excellent property and location
The Retreat on Roxie is a fantastic house to stay in while in Florence. Lora and Billy have done a great job providing anything that you might need. The beds have great mattresses and are supper comfy. The house is clean and well maintained. Lora and Billy had snacks and drinks in the house which my kids thought were awesome. Being from Florence the location of the house in Forrest Hills is great to be able to get where we need to go quickly. We will be staying at the Retreat on Roxie for our future stays back to visit our family in Florence.

Quiet, safe neighborhood for home base
We enjoyed our stay. It was convenient to town and a great home base for exploring the area. The bed was comfy and everything was clean and in good repair. The hosts were exceptionally responsive and replied right away the two times we needed them. A pleasant and pleasurable long weekend away.

First off beautiful home, spacious, peaceful. Really felt at home. The hosts are amazing Mrs. Lora is very sweet. Everything was everything in the description. I would recommend anyone to this specific home . I promise you will love it I know I fell in love with their place

Relaxed quiet weekend
This quiet neighborhood was perfect for us. The response from our hose was very prompt and I was surprised to find juice and beverages and snacks there. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook for ourselves and the beds were so comfortable I got an excellent 2 nights of sleep.

FISHING TRIP
This is a fabulous property for short or extended stay. Owner/manager is friendly, kind and accommodating. I felt like I made new friends. The area has everything you need. It’s a great location. SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY AT THE RETREAT ON ROXIE
One expects a property to look like the photo shown on the website. One expects clean towels in the bathroom.
One does not expect a refrigerator stocked with milk, orange juice, apple juice and yogurts. What a nice surprise.
The basket of muffins and other snacks was also appreciated.
We had four adults staying in the three bedrooms. We were a little concerned that the one bathroom would not accommodate all four guests , including 3 grown women, but the size and the layout of all the rooms made for a pleasant long weekend stay.
We plan to make the Retreat On Roxie our " GO TO LOCATION" when visiting relatives in Florence, Alabama.

The home was clean and just as pictured; with an abundance of food, drinks, towels, and toiletries. The beds were comfortable and clean too. I have stayed in many vacation rentals and we’ve never had this kind of service above and beyond what we expected. Thanks so much.

Great for a family
The house was great. In a quiet neighborhood with a walmart within two miles. Plenty of cookware and dishes for our group of 5. They even had snacks and ice cream.

Home away from Home.
came into town to have some fun fishing with my dad and 2 sons. Lora and her Husband were great. The house was stocked with supplies. We will definitely stay again when we come back to town on our next trip. For any future fisherman, the drive way is big enough for 2 boats hooked up. Any more would need to sit on the street, and cords run out to them. Quiet neighborhood.

Excellent Place to Stay!
We had a wonderful time staying in this home! The cleanliness and the décor were the best I have seen in a rental property. I will admit that I was a little concerned about the owners living in an apartment below but we had complete privacy! Lora was very easy to work with and she made our stay very enjoyable. To our surprise, the kitchen was well stocked with an assortment of drinks and snacks- including juice and muffins for breakfast! The bathroom was very clean and stocked well with towels and toiletries. The beds were very comfortable especially the king bed that I slept in. I commented to my husband that we needed that mattress! If we ever travel to the Florence area again, this house will definitely be our go-to place to stay.

Perfect!!
I traveled from Ohio to Florence, along with my parents, to visit my daughter who is a student at UNA. I was a little skeptical about the owners living in an apartment below, however, it was never an issue. We had plenty of privacy. Lora was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Her hospitality and attention to detail was outstanding. The decor throughout the house and the cleanliness was top notch. Fresh flowers, water bottles on the nightstand, and a well stocked kitchen made for an amazing and relaxing weekend. Will definitely look to stay here again whenever visiting!!
