Terrific place to stay. Extremely safe family friendly neighborhood. Good for family walks and trips to a great park with a playground for the children. The hosts catered to my family needs offering various children items that made the trip extremely special. The hosts gave us great privacy to the property and my family enjoyed our stay. My family will be back!

This was our second stay in this listing while in town to visit family. The location is great, providing easy access to the canyons, shopping/groceries, highway system, etc. This while being only 10 min from our family. Still, this home is in a very quiet area and has great outdoor spaces to enjoy the wonderful SLC weather. The home is very clean, well equipped and Joan provided some nice little touches (i.e. some tomatoes fresh from their garden upon arrival).

The house was just what we expected. It was clean, the kitchen had everything we needed for meals and the backyard patio was perfect for hanging out in the evenings. We would definitely stay here again.

Joan's home is one of the nicest we've ever rented. Beautiful location, very comfortable, fully provisioned and filled with wonderful art. Easy booking & check-in. Good access to services. We hope to return. Highly recommended!

Pros: -beautiful -fun and cool decor (and info about the history) -welcoming with the treats -plenty of everything (finally a place that isn't too stingy with detergents, tp, etc!) -very clean (we have a lot of allergies in our little family and no one had any trouble at all) -Joan was great at communicating and accommodating -no long checkout list (just start the dishwasher and put stuff back: awesome!) -safe and private -great location (so many things to do and places to eat! We loved hiking in the canyon) -fun toys that actually worked! -gorgeous deck area -they let our kids use their yard and play set -really good wifi Cons: -very squeaky floor We felt so comfortable, relaxed, and at home here. What a lovely house and host! Maybe the best place we have ever stayed. I highly recommend this place; it's so good!

We ( 2 of us) thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely guest house. We came to Salt Lake for a week of skiing and this location was very handy for getting to all the major ski resorts. It was also convenient for grocery shopping and a variety of restaurants. The house is set well back from the main road in an upscale neighborhood and very quiet. It is well maintained, nicely decorated, has plenty of windows for natural lighting, and met our needs. Though nothing needed fixing while we were there, it was nice to have the owners, a delightful couple, right next door in case of an issue. We highly recommend this property.

We loved this property. We stayed 45 days and wish we could have stayed longer. Over that much time you really get to know a place and the hosts. The space worked great for us. We cooked many meals in the kitchen, had guests at the lovely dining room table. We watched football games with friends in the living room an launched day trips around SLC and the nearby ski areas including Alta, Deer Valley and Snowbasin. The central locatation with close proximity to the freeway (without the sound) is terrific. The woods and bushes nearby are terrific habitat for many birds and deer. Mark and Joan treated us like we were family. We had a great time.

Great location, very clean, well-stocked kitchen, super comfortable beds, helpful hosts. The house was decorated for Christmas, and we enjoyed it very much. It was the perfect place for our 10 days ski adventure in Salt Lake City.

This property was as advertised. Spotless, spacious, great neighborhood and great location. There should be a 6-star rating that's available for select properties like this one. My family and I will back, the kids did not want to leave.

We had a most wonderful extended stay @ this place while our condo underwent construction. The house is exactly as viewed in photos, very nicely furnished & decorated, with comfy couch & beds. Hosts who live next door were quickly responsive to any needs we had, while maintaining our privacy also. The location can’t be beat if you are planning a ski trip to 1 of the resorts in Big or Little Cottonwood canyon, as it is very close to entrance of these canyons. You will not be disappointed if you choose this place for your next vacation!

wonderful wooded quiet

We stayed at this property for 11 days while visiting our son and his family. The location was excellent for both proximity to our son's home and for proximity to Big Cottonwood canyon, restaurants, grocery, and other parks. We would definitely stay here again. A bonus was the big front yard and play set that our grand daughters loved. We also enjoyed the small special extras from our hosts such as a supply of coffee, snacks, and tomatoes fresh from their garden!

This is a great place to stay! I stayed with my wife and infant son. Joan had toys and the crib already out for us when we arrived. The whole house was very clean and cozy. Very private. Large TV, fast wifi, comfortable couch and beds, many towels for use, pots and pans, snacks for us, very safe location, etc The only small nitpicks I can think of would be a slightly squeaky floor in front of the bathroom and the door to the secondary bedroom is difficult to close due to the way the door hits the top of the door frame at a slight angle. Also, check for bugs/spiders on the bottom of the green cushions on the seating outside before sitting there. Other than those tiny critiques, I have nothing bad to say! I would absolutely stay here again if visiting the area. Highly recommended!

We loved East to West. We arrived late at night after all the local convenient stores had closed. The fresh baked cookies left for us really helped the kids get over their rumbling bellies. The house is in the middle of everything but you would never know it. Very nice neighborhood with fast access to the interstate making both downtown SLC and the mountains 20 mins away. The owners could not be more attentive and accommodating.

The house and all the amenities are perfect. Location is in a great neighborhood and close to everything. Great walking trails nearby. Enjoyed our stay it was just the right place at the right time.

Beautiful deck for safe social distancing visiting.Perfect location: 5 minutes or less to several food stores, restaurants. 30 minutes or. less to airport 20 minutes to in law. Very upscale neighborhood. Recommend VERY Highly. Two. happy old Canadians going home after attending our youngest son's wedding. Could not be more pleased. C heers!

We have stayed in a number of VRBO properties, and this guest house was definitely one of the best. The house was exceedingly clean and very well provisioned. The beds were more comfortable than our beds at home. Our visit was for skiing, and the location was great for that. There is a ski bus park and ride about a mile away, and the ski bus was very convenient and easy. Though we didn't use it, the guest house has a nice private outdoor area as well. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a great rental in a beautiful area. Joan is a great host and very responsive. The little touches go a long way and you will want for nothing with this rental. We loved our stay and will return in the future!

The reason we vacation in the Salt Lake City was to go snow skiing and snow boarding. The property is about one and 1/2 mile from the bus line that takes you up to the ski resorts. Also the property was just the right size for our group of four. Plus Mark and Joan are very nice people and will help you out if you have any question.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the 5 nights we spent here. The guest house had everything we needed and more. And the location was perfect for accessing the Big and Little Cottonwood Canyon resorts. Joan and Mark were great hosts.

Joan's property was perfect for a family ski vacation. We were skiing the resorts closer to SLC and didn't need to stay in Park City so the location was perfect. Would stay again.

We were looking for, and found, a great place to stay close to the ski resorts in the Cottonwood Canyons. The Guesthouse is in a quiet and secure area with easy access to the beltway freeways. Good restaurants and shopping is nearby. The property is in great condition and beautifully appointed. We would definitely stay here again.

Joan’s home was exactly as advertised. The location was perfect for getting to the mountains. The home was cozy and the snacks left for us were a fun surprise treat. Joan was truly wonderful to work with and I was especially grateful for her flexibility when we suddenly had to change dates of our trip. We hope to stay here again!

We loved our stay! Great location for skiing. The house was decorated for the holidays which was so wonderful. It made us feel like we were in a home for the holiday. Lots of extra amenities. The kitchen basics were all there and with extra treats left for us. We will stay here again on our trips to Salt Lake.

Guest home had everything we needed. Quiet and peaceful with access to garage, back patio, and backyard play area for kids. Joan was kind and respectful. Felt we had privacy the whole stay. Highly recommend!

I loathe looking for places to stay when I have an upcoming trip. I’m one of those who looks at EVERY rental. EVERY hotel. Compares prices. I Literally search for days. Then when I finally decide it’s gone. When I had to go to SLC for a few days, I compared hotels to homes and found this GEM!! It was roughly the same price to stay at Joans guest home. A wonderful little house with a full kitchen, beautiful forested setting with a private backyard, two great bedrooms and an amazing living room with a view. Joans house is next door but very private. You can come and go as you please and not feel like you’re intruding on her or her neighbors. It’s PERFECT! I will stay here again and I highly recommend you stay here. It’s in a NICE neighborhood (do your research if you must) but within close range to so many things!!! PERFECTION! Thanks to Joan for the fresh cookies and warm welcome. She puts out coffee, snacks, toiletries. All the things you wish you had brought or might have forgotten. My 11 year old loved home and especially the snacks and cookies. 5 enthusiastic stars!!

Nice fully stocked, stand alone guest house that was conveniently located close to the mouth of Big and Little Cottonwood Canyon and the ski areas. I highly recommend it!
