Views of Hawaii Kai and sunsets from every lanai are breathtaking. House contained all the amenities that a family could want and then some! Eva was a joy to work with and helpful with local business recommendations. We would definitely book with her again and recommend her highly to friends and others who need a place to call home for their stay on Oahu. So many beautiful memories made.

This property has the best views of Hawaii Kai. Great location to boot. Koko Head trail, Blow Hole, and Sandy Beach. Close to a Leonard's is a plus. Waikiki and Ala Moana are close by if you like that type of vibe. Also close to Makapu'u Point, Sea Life Park, and Waimanalo Beach.

This place has an amazing view of the ocean and surrounding area. Very interesting view of Koko head’s trail, you can see the entire length of it! The house is very clean, and the pool is nice. The hosts also had excellent communication and we all enjoyed our stay very much. Definitely would recommend.

Had the best time.....this house has EVERYTHING you can possibly need. It is in a nice, quiet neighborhood, plenty of parking and a beautiful view to wake up to every morning. Had been given the wrong lockbox code for check in, but after a call to Julie it was resolved. Would DEFINITELY recommend this house to anyone with a large number of people travelling (we had 9 people and everyone had a comfortable bed to sleep in). A great place to celebrate our daughter's graduation from UH Manoa.

This property exceded my expectations. The view was amazing! Beds were comfortable. Everything we could have possibly needed was available to us. We felt so at home. The cleanliness of the house was immaculate. There are only 2 minor negatives I could say. one is the driveway. very steep but to get the view I suppose it is necessary. 2. This house is not very handicap or senior friendly. there are tons of stairs..but we got through it! The benefits far out weighed the negative. Host was very promp with answering questions and was very accommodating.

Beautiful home with incredible views. Great location! Eva, the property manager was a pleasure to work with. The only minor con is that steep driveway but needed for the views. Overall a wonderful experience!

Eva is an amazing host. She is responsive and helpful and keeps the house very organized. The property is just gorgeous, with amazing views. It is well-stocked, with a good pool and barbecue area, and a lot of common, outdoor spaces. It was very well-priced for property. The location was good for us, because we were there for family events taking place on the south side of O'ahu. If you like to go into Waikiki, it is a little far and the highway can get bad traffic. You do get a really nice breeze, which is good because the house can get hot. We kept the windows open all the time. A couple of things that we wished we had appreciated before we came: the house is on a VERY steep hill, with only room to park two cars at the top. You will be walking up and down a steep driveway, even for simple things like taking out the trash. Because it is on a hillside, there is also no yard, but there is a concrete pool deck. Also, one of the 'bedrooms' is not really a bedroom. It's a family room with two twin beds and a sleeper sofa. The people in that room will have no privacy because you must walk through it to get to the two back bedrooms. Finally, the house is in need of a little updating. It's not falling apart, just dated. That's probably what keeps the price such a good value.

Great location away from crowds and opportunity to support local businesses.

We had a great time at the Hale Ohana property. The house was comfortable and spacious. The location was perfect - the house is located on a quiet residential street. The view was amazing and we liked being on this side of the island. So happy to have use of a pool after a day of sightseeing. Eva was extremely responsive and was great about answering questions before arrival and during our stay. She had a welcome package that was very thoughtful and appreciated. It included many different types of fruit, chips, candy and nuts. There were plenty of beach towels for our group of 8 adults and an infant. The house itself was bigger than expected, leaving room for everyone to have their own space. The home was close to a lot of good restaurants. We woke up early many mornings and took a short drive to watch the sunrise. Hanauma Bay is about a 1 – 2 minutes drive from the home. We had a great time here and would highly recommend it to family and friends. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

I highly recommend Hale Ohana for a family vacation to Oahu!! Our family of 10 (ages 17 - 81) thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It's hard to put into words how delightful it was to sit on the balcony off the dining room enjoying the view of Diamond Head feeling the ocean breeze, and watching the teenagers enjoy the pool given the position of the home on a hill adjacent to Haunama Bay. We had various activities planned, but sitting together on that balcony was one of the most special parts of our trip. We discovered that Hale Ohana was also a perfect location on the island for everything we wanted to do while visiting Oahu--visiting Waikiki, Pearl Harbor, the Polynesian Cultural Center, Diamond Head, multiple hiking trails, waterfalls, Kaneohe Bay for kayaking, and one of the best days for us--visiting Waimanalo Beach--amazing sand and surf with no crowds on weekdays. We hoped to visit Hanauma Bay to swim and snorkel, but it's so popular that the tickets (sold online starting at 7 am 48 hours before the day you want to go) were sold out in 3 minutes! But there is so much to do in Hawaii, we just moved on to our next plan. The location is also great because of the 5 minute drive to Walgreens (tip, they have $8 leis for that special someone in your life--and a Leonard's Bakery food truck in their parking lot!), 15 minutes to Safeway, Costco, and a host of good food 5 - 15 minutes away! (We loved Liko's Tap & Table, Sophie's Pizza, and Moena's Cafe.) The home itself is clean and well-stocked with everything you'd want in the kitchen, lots of towels and extra bedding--and lots of swim towels, beach chairs, pool toys, and 4 excellent boogie boards!! These are the "good ones" that you can really catch a wave with! We enjoyed them so much at Waimanalo Beach. There is no central AC as is true of most homes in Hawaii. With all the windows open (with screens to keep the bugs out--although we never noticed any mosquitos at all), a lovely ocean breeze, and big fans in every room, we were fine! The master bedroom has a window unit. We put the grandparents in that room, and with all of the windows closed and the AC on, they actually got cold! We are so lucky to have snagged Hale Ohana for our very special family trip to Hawaii. And a big thanks to Eva, our host, who was very attentive and helpful on our arrival and throughout our stay. Mahalo!! We felt the Aloha spirit (it's not just a greeting) during our stay in East Oahu at Hale Ohana!

The rental is just as pictured and more. I visited the Honolulu for my birthday with 7 adult family members and the space was perfect. We did not feel as if it were crowded at all. The host Eva was extremely nice and hospitable. Upon arrival to the airport I gave her a call and she was so pleasant. I told her I was going to eat and then to the rental. 2 hrs later I decided to tour the island and Eva was so attentive and called to check up on us to ensure everything was okay. Once arrived to the house we were surprised by welcome goodies such as Hawaiian coffee and fresh fruit. The bathrooms was supplied with new toiletries such as toothpaste, make up wipes, etc.. The location of the house was also great. Hanauma bay is just 10 mins away, unfortunately, it was closer during our stay but I’ve heard beautiful things. Maakupu beach park is 10 mins away. Lanikai is 20 mins away. All in all the location was perfect for us. I would highly recommend this rental.

Perfect location (south Oahu) in beautiful and quiet neighborhood, House itself was large and excellently stocked. Lovely welcome basket of fruit and nuts. Pool well maintained, internet reliable. House is older (window A/C in master bedroom only) and appliances need updating, but would definitely recommend to any family!

Our family of five stayed at Hawaii Kai for 10 nights in June 2019 and really enjoyed our stay. The property is at a great location and very handy to all the major attractions (1 minute drive from Hanauma Bay, 5 minutes to the southeast beaches, 15 minutes to Diamond Head and 20 minutes to Honolulu) yet offers peace and quiet in a upscale residential neighborhood. The clean and well-appointed property is quite large with commanding view of Maunalua Bay from virtually every room in the house. A big swimming pool, two big screen TVs, a large collection of DVDs and books and a fast internet connection provide plenty of entertainment when we were "home". Eva, the friendly owner, was very responsive to our inquiries and requests throughout our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hawaii Kai and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great vacation rental on Oahu.

Some of the fit-out and furnishings in this spacious house are very old, exemplified by the carpet that's so old the house has a permanent musty smell. Worse still the carpet on the external balconies is exposed to weather and accordingly reeks of mould. Also, don't expect AC thru the house as it only has one (loud!) AC unit in the main bedroom. Finally, one of the upstairs bedrooms is actually a small living room that occupants in the two adjoining bedrooms have to walk thru to reach the bathroom! For these reasons, our group felt that the house was poor value although with a small outlay by the owner the property could be a good stay option.

Family of 10 people were comfortable with plenty of space. Loved that ground floor had full bath and sleeper futon in extended living room area for grand parents to sleep. Upstairs had master bedroom with plenty of space and crib for baby. Upstairs also has 2 other bedrooms (queen beds) with extended living room having couch, TV and 2 X single beds. Downstairs kitchen and dining room with extended deck is where we spent most of our time chatting, viewing sunset and sunrise over koko crater and diamond head. Kids enjoyed the pool, boogie boards and beach toys. Visited Hanauma bay for snorkeling almost every morning (~1 mile). Halona Koko crater, blow hole and Makapu'u light house trail were within 10 mins driving. Great beaches on on south east side for boogie boarding; Bellows Field, Waimanalo, Kalama & Kailua. At Sandy beach (huge waves and rough) ate at food trucks and watched expert boogie boarding. Made trip to North shores to see turtles and Waikki beach on Friday evening (luckily found parking at the end of road near Diamond head) to see Polynesian dances and street artists.

The house is located in a nice quite neighbourhood. Close to Hanauma Bay and stores. Very convenient. Has a good view and the place gets lots of wind so you don't feel hot during the day and nice and cool at night. Eva and Julie were really good hosts.

This is our 1st time to Hawaii. Eva the owner of our house , we rented for 10 days, was extremely nice, informative, called us when we arrived at the airport and had everything ready for us @ her house. This house is 2 stories, 4 big balcony’s , large kitchen and dining room, had a welcome bowl of fruits,sweets,pineapple and more on the dining room table. Very large Family room with DVD’s and Netflix. Rooms are nice size, Master is very large. Only 1 a/c in the house, window unit in Master BR. Ceiling fans and stand up fans throughout the house. Trade Winds blowing cool breeze all day and night. Sliding doors from all 4 balconies, you can see the mountains and ocean, just beautiful. Neighborhood is quiet, good neighborhood too. Nice swimming pool with beach toys and lawn chairs. Boch washer and dryer. All together 4 Bedrooms and 3 Full size baths. Backyard is a mountain and private. I would definitely stay here again. Close to Honolulu and Waikiki, stores,shops, and surrounded by several beautiful breathtaking beaches!! We used the gas grill for steaks and hamburgers 🍔!! Thx to Eva, our trip was smooth sailing!! Wow, what a beautiful place and the views are absolutely gorgeous. It was so nice to wake up every morning and have coffee on the deck overlooking the beautiful ocean to your left, and the mountains right in front of you. We were a group of 7 and there was plenty of room for all of us. Everyone had a bed. The house is in a great location and in a very quiet neighborhood. Waikiki is about 20 minutes away. Hanauma Bay is only a hop, skip and jump away and it is a must see. We drove over to the Northshore and that took a little over an hour. Eva was the best. So easy to work with and very accomodating. I know I will be back in Hawaii again and I will definitely stay there again if it is available. You will not be disappointed, trust me.

This was the most amazing trip to hawaii! It was our first trip to Hawaii this house supplied and accomodated everything! The views were breakthaking, the breeze was amazing!! But the most amazing part was Eva who was in charge of setting up the house was THE BEST!!! She let us check in early and stay later due to our flights and also set up balloons and got a cake for my 30th birthday with the help of my husband! She was so easy to talk to and just overall a very thoughtful person!! The welcome basket of fruit was wonderful and refreshing!!! The pool was also refreshing to a T!!!! There was plenty of rooms and bathrooms for all of us! Hawaii could not of been any better and we will refer any and all our friends to this house! The location was perfect as we were in a perfect little town with overall great views and wonderful hospitality!!! Thank you Eva and your entire team for a great place! We felt like family!!!

This property was by far exceeded my expectation. I did an extensive research prior to selecting the vacation rental to have great time with my family. Hale Ohana had it all. The view from the entire house was phenomenal and you get the constant breeze from the ocean which is very pleasant. We only used AC in master bed for few times because it was not needed with great working fans and Windows. House was well stocked that with 10 people staying for 10 days, we didn't need to buy any toilet papers. Kitchen is better stocked than mine. They even had a basket full of toys for kids which my kids loved. Pool was great and had many pool/beach toys. We had more than plenty of bath and beach towels, cooking essentials such as olive oil, even ramen, etc. we were greeted with a nice fruit plate with coffee, chocolate covered macadamia nuts and potato chips. Costco was so close and you have just about anything you need within 5 min drive. Guest binder was super helpful and we were able to try different restaurants based on reviews in that binder. Hale Ohana is centrally located and it was very convenient for us for any sightseeing, shopping, restaurants, you name it. We will be back to Hale Ohana in the future! At last, but not least, you have one of the best property manager who will be so easy to contact and help you with anything you need. From when we reserve this location to even after we left, Eva helped us through everything. She is professional, has attention to detail, and kind. I did not want to leave Hale Ohana. Similar to previous reviews, because they didn't have guest arriving right next day, Eva let us stayed until 2pm for a late checkout because our flight was not until 4pm. It was truly a home away from home.

Just got back from a week stay at the Hale Ohana. First time using VRBO and first time visiting Hawaii. Took the whole family of 5. This was absolutely the best rental experience ever! The house sets in a beautiful well maintained neighborhood just far enough off the main drag yet close enough to everything! So peaceful and relaxing, words just cannot explain. The view is unbelievable! literally 20 minutes from everything from Waikiki beach to the Dole plantation. Sandy beach is just a couple miles away and Hanauma Bay is just around the block. The house is huge! It has everything needed to a comfortable stay. Plenty of room to move around with 2 newer flat screen TV's, with cable and WiFi that worked perfectly. Stocked with enough towels and linens to keep our family of 5 going. The washer and dryer came in very handy. The pool was perfect. Complete with a BBQ grill. Eva and the rental company were easy to deal with and didn't bother or interfere with our week at all. The welcome basket of fruit was a wonderfu surprise! The neighbors are all quiet and left us alone without complaint. I just cant say enough about the Hale Ohana. The only negative was that the alarm system did not work - but it wasn't really needed. The neighborhood is so nice that we didn't feel like we even had to lock the doors. If we ever make it back to Oahu we will definitely stay again at the Hale Ohana. Thank you for making our vacation dream come true!!!

3 women from New Zealand + 3 women from California + week-long reunion in Hawaii = wonderful vacation! We've just returned home after a wonderful week staying at this property. With plenty of beds and bathrooms, a great kitchen and several living areas it was perfect for us. That's without mentioning the swimming pool which was so nice to jump into at the end of a busy day. As mentioned in other reviews, the house is very well stocked with good quality linen, crockery and cutlery, and lots of little extras, such as the welcome basket. Eva was so good to deal with, and those of us with a late night flight home really appreciated being able to stay in the house until the evening. The house is in a wonderful location with absolutely stunning views. We had a rental car (which I'd recommend) and the easy drive to Waikiki was around 15-20 minutes, but it's only a 10 minute walk to the bus stop which is on the main road. It wasn't easy finding accommodation for the 6 of us, and after staying here we all agreed this was a great choice. Would totally recommend this property for families and groups.

We stayed at Hale Ohana for 2 weeks and had a great time. Having the pool available when we got back from excursions and shopping was wonderful. Eva was SO accommodating in letting us stay at the home until we had to leave for the airport for our late flight. The welcome basket, and ground coffee were greatly appreciated. Having a Costco & Safeway so close to the home was also great. The only problem we has was our vacation went by very fast as there was absolutely NO pressure. A car is needed unless you want to walk a short distance for the BUS.

Beautiful location, beautiful house, well run (check in), and the best stocked (towels, dishes, soap) of any VRBO rental we have used. The house is in a nearly ideal location; near Haunama Bay, near restaurants (Roys, yum) but away in a quiet neighborhood setting. If you are coming to "Paaartay!", DON'T go to this house. It is a lovely place in a neighborhood and loud foolish behavior would be out of place. The house was surprising large. It could easily sleep 8. We appreciated the extensive dishes / silverware and other household supplies. Many rental places don't have paper towels or even toilet paper when you arrive. Hale Ohana was excellently managed and supplied. We appreciated the drinks in the refrigerator and welcome fruit basket.There were even 6 beautiful orchid plants around the house. The pool was excellently maintained and appreciated by all. The driveway was challenging but view was worth it. The multiple lanais off many rooms just added to the paradise feel. If we were to return, we would definitely stay here again. Our only very minor complaint was with the island of Oahu - which felt too urbanized after having come from the Big Island.
