We had a great time during our stay. The house is nice, clean and the view cannot be beat! We've stayed in OBX numerous times and this has been our favorite house by far. It was everything we expected and then some. Thank you David for sharing your home with us!

This property was perfect for our extended family. Our 2 kids, their spouses, and 2 grandchildren stayed comfortably at this home. The property was clean, quiet, yet easily accessible to everything that we needed. The home was well equipped with household items. Dave was very accommodating and even stopped by to see if things were to our satisfaction. Loved it!

We really enjoyed this property and have stayed at a few different homes in Kill Devil Hills over the last decade. There are updates not photographed yet, but it is obvious this property has been taken care of and the owner is easy to reach and helpful.

The property was beautiful the house was spacious and well maintained and very comfortable. The peir was probably my favorite part it was so peaceful to sit and have my coffee or a drink and watch the sun set or the osprey fishing in the morning. Staying here made our vacation that much more enjoyable and we would definitely stay here again if we ever visit the area again. Also the host was very easy to work with

The Sound Crab was even better than expected! The pictures do not do this property justice. Our group of 4 adults had plenty of space to share. The neighborhood the house is located in is very quiet and there is a walking path from the house that connects to the Wright Brother’s museum. The private pier and gondola was great to fish from and enjoy the peace and quiet. We hadn’t even left yet and already started planning our next trip to stay at the Sound Crab again. The owner David was extremely helpful and responsive. Thank you so much for the memories!

Overall a very nice clean place to stay with a great location. Only issue we really had was all the stairs with my elderly mother and no security gates available for my 11 month old. Thanks for letting us stay at your beautiful home.

David was so gracious to us. I brought my 86 year old parents for a short mini vacation. Our only regret was that we didn't have time for a few more days. We loved the area, the house, and everything. The sunsets from the back porch were splendid. I took so many pictures. I wanted to capture all the memories. Thank you Dave! Your house was one of the best we have ever stayed in.

The house was great! Cleaned and just as described! Had an issue with the power in one room not wanting to stay on. The maintenance guy and his wife came out right away to fix it and we had no other issues! Will definitely try to stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Sound Crab. It had all of the amenities we needed and more. The view was spectacular especially at sunset. We will definitely be coming back. The photo do not do the place justice. It is better than the photos.

The house was located in a quiet neighborhood on the water. It was far enough from the main road to enjoythequiet, yet close enough to have easy access to everything. Sitting out on the deck and watching the sunrise and set everyday was the highlight of a peaceful stay.

We had a wonderful time. The house is close to everything you need but secluded enough to feel like you are away from everything. We really enjoyed sitting on the back porch, overlooking the water while reading a good book. Would diffently go back again.

We REALLY loved our time at the Sound Crab. The views and sunsets were amazing and we loved having our own personal dock. The property was pretty secluded and had plenty of decks and sitting areas to take in the views. I highly recommend bringing or renting kayaks, canoe or stand up paddle board and you have an incredible playground to enjoy on the water. We tried our hand at crabbing even but then didn't have the heart to cook them (maybe next time). The home was super comfortable (loved the couch and huge TV). We found the bed comfortable. The house was a bit dated with some things but it was clean and had a relaxing feel. I only rated 4 stars on cleanliness due to the gazebo area feeling it needed a good detail clean but we would not hesitate to rent this place again!

Our small family and grandkids really enjoyed our 4 day stay at the Crab Sound! Home is well stocked and clean. The dock was a highlight with crab pots waiting to catch blue crab for dinner. We enjoyed colorful sunsets each night from the top deck. The house is the 2nd to last on a dead-end street with a walkway that continues a short walk from the Wright Brothers memorial and close to other attractions. Dave's communication and suggestions were outstanding. If we return with 6 adults or less, we will definitely return!

We had a nice stay at the Sound Crab. The location is very convenient to the beach and all beach related activities. The property was very clean , provided ample space and has wonderful decks all in a very nice location in Kill Devil Hills. There were areas in terms of furnishings that we would recommend upgrading. All of the bed mattresses need to be replaced. Guests that slept in each of the beds expressed discomfort. The upstairs living area(facing the sound) require shades as the upstairs gets warm with direct sunlight. David was quick to respond to any questions we had at the start of our vacation. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

We loved everything about this property! Our family had a wonderful vacation. This was the perfect home away from home. It was a great location with all the amenities of home. Our kids and grandkids had a great time. We will definitely recommend this location to all our friends and family.

House was on the sound and had great views. The 4 rooms accommodated the 6 fishermen for our offshore charter.

The house was very clean and well equipped. We had a wonderful stay with breath taking sunsets every night. My only comment for consideration is that the beds were not very comfortable, and I had to clean the gazebo up before we could enjoy it, but definitely a recommend.

This place was exactly as promised - right on the sound with great views from the dock and the many decks. It was quiet with easy access to the walking/bike path. We rented kayaks (delivered to the house by the caretaker). We would absolutely stay here again!!

We arrived at the house a little early and were met by David and the house caretaker. But were very professional and attentive. The house exceded my expectations, the grounds were well maintained. The house was very clean inside. The views of the sunset were awesome! Our group was very pleased with our stay and will definitely recommend the house for anyone traveling to the northern outer banks area. Will rent again!!

Beautiful views! Awesome location! One of my kids' best vacations so far. The decor is a little dated but the house was very clean and well stocked with necessities. Loved all the seating areas on each level. David, the owner was very easy to work with and informative. Definitely plan to return in the future!

Property was in a great location, with beautiful views from almost every room. Weather was kinda bad but if you stay with nice weather so many sitting areas outside!! Beautiful walkway with dock and gazebo! Quite neighborhood with walking and biking trails! Owner gives you great detailed info!Would love to stay again when it’s warm!!

Great clean property sound side. We fished crabbed and cooked mostly staying on the property. Did bike the bike paths a lot. The owner was beyond helpful knows where to do anything just ask him so helpful. The island was wonderful

Gorgeous view of the creek from every window upstairs. Went for the sunsets. Discovered the “otter commute” from salt marsh islands. Wonderful to watch.

From beginning to end, this place was a gem! It was just me and my best friend and after a really hard couple of years, we both needed a change in scenery for a few days. This place was everything we needed and more! Beds were comfortable which neither of us was really expecting! The kitchen was stocked and clean as were bathrooms. But nothing can compare to those beautiful sunsets we saw every evening. We are planning another trip and hope to be able to stay here again! Dave was great at answering any questions and providing any information about the area. This place really is a gem!

The Sound Crab was just what we needed amid COVID and the crazy work load we have had. It helped that the weather was gorgeous and rain free. The house was well cleaned and equipped. (Refrigerator with an ice and crushed ice dispenser was a particular treat) With decks on all sides and two levels and some areas screened in and shaded, we found ourselves outside alot reading, eating, playing games and watching the beautiful sound. The house has alot of nice touches and bravo to Dave for the visible and clear instruction pages and the labels on light switches. I could see a family or group of friends could have a wonderful time here --- there is plenty of room to be together or to go off by yourself for awhile. The dock with gazebo was another great place to sit. It's location made it easy to find dining and to take trips around the Outer Banks.

We had a wonderful stay at the Sound Crab! The place is somehow tucked away on a little corner of the sound and feels very private while still close to all that the surrounding towns have to offer. The house was very clean and the kitchen was well-equipped. The sound views are spectacular and the many decks and windows provide plenty of options for taking in those views!
