Family had a great stay. Location close to very good NC trout fishing with easy access both at the home and at the Valle Crucis Community Park. Mast general store right there as well. Close to Boone proper. House had great decks to enjoy watching the Watauga River. Nice kitchen and bedrooms with comfortable beds. Living room had good couches and recliners. Greet place to stay for a family that likes outdoors though likes to home body as well.

Lovely home for my family of 4. We stayed for 7 nights and even brought our dog. Place was clean and same as listing. We saw the river go from empty to basically flooding and it was magical. The master room bed is extremely high which was fine for me but a little hard for my husband. There are two rooms so when it says sleeps 6, that means two people on pull out couch. It is a big space and worked great for us. About 20-25 minutes from both Sugar and Beech Mountains which is why we traveled there. Short drive to Boone, Banner Elk and Blowing rock. So much to do. Would stay again. Thanks!

We were looking forward to our stay at this property because of its location on the Watauga River. We have driven by this property hundreds of times because we usually stay in Vilas. The interior was clean and comfortable, but very outdated and could use some upgrades. Where we were disappointed was with the exterior. This home is on a beautiful property, but it has not been maintained. We went there for the River, but it was very difficult to get to it because the property is so overgrown. The exterior of the house was extremely dirty. We had to clean the decks and furniture before we could even use them because of all the spider webs and spiders. Once we did that we were able to enjoy sitting outside and listening to the River. This property has the potential to be a beautiful getaway, but needs a lot of TLC.

The house is very welcoming and cozy. You can hear the river from inside the house, it’s very relaxing. The driveway is a bit steep, so if it’s muddy you need a running start! The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was fully stocked, the TV has all the streaming platforms, and the deck is great for relaxing with a drink or coffee. The propane fireplace wasn’t working, and the owner was very responsive about sending someone out. We declined, to see if we could light it, but it wouldn’t light. It was full of propane, the pilot light was lit, but it apparently needs service. Other than that, the road was a little noisy, but it was a great place to stay and we would definitely go back. We went horseback riding, hiking, visited Grandfather Mountain, and did wine tasting. Lovely home.

We love this roomy home and have stayed several times. Great location, convenient to everything, beautifully situated on the river and well appointed. We’ll be back.

You have a beautiful property. It needs some work on the woods and area around it, hard to get down to river so much undergrowth. Ice maker did not work and gas logs did not light. It was cool so we used the heat. You have a huge dead tree on right of deck that is in danger of falling onto the house.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay. Great proximity to town but had the feel of really getting away. The river view from the deck is spectacular and relaxing. The home is very warm and inviting. We hope to come back soon!

We really enjoyed our time at this clean, comfortable and conveniently located property. The owner was very responsive when we had a question.

We had a wonderful weekend in the mountains! The house was very clean, close to restaurants and grocery stores and had all of the amenities needed. We really enjoyed being on the river as well. I would highly recommend.

The house was gorgeous and easy to find (we are familiar with the area, so that helped). The only issue was the driveway. It wasn't snowing but it had rained recently so we had some issues pulling up the drive! After that we just left our vehicle parked at the top of the driveway and that was no problem :) The descriptions and the pictures really don't do this property justice. We wished we could've stayed longer!

We had a great time at the house. My kids loved fishing right in the backyard all week and they even learned chess and played on the board in the main room almost every night.

Great house and river. Beyond that... with all the BS fees included this property is 300.00 per night. To me that is full retail price. At one time this was a show place. I'm assuming with the owner who lived there for approximately 15 years. By looks of the despair the outside is in when the new owners got this property two years ago is when the outside maintenance completely stopped. You can barely tell where the terraced flower beds were. There are small trees growing out of the gutters. The trees are becoming over grown to the point of obstructing the view of the river. Did I mentioned that this is just another property where the furniture and accessories dont match and are very old and out dated. If this is in a corporation , as a income producing asset should be , it is a write off to do maintenance and replace old outdated furniture. This will also get you better reviews which leads to more first time customers and more repeat customers.

Our experience was great! The homeowner provided quick responses all through the booking process. The house was clean and it looked just like the pictures. Peaceful setting right beside the river. Very relaxing!

We loved our recent stay for a long weekend. House had everything-including a Keurig! The rooms were large and had a wonderful view of the river. We enjoyed seeing the deer play in the river each morning. We will definitely be back
