Property is very well maintained and has everything required for a home from home

The best spot to spend Christmas with the family. We came over from 3 different countries and the house was perfect for us. Large living room open with the kitchen, we can be together all the time doing different things. Very large confortable family bathroom, spacefull rooms, with everything we need! We definitely want to come back! Absolutely loved it!

From start to finish the experience was excellent.

When arriving at the property, the views are the first thing to take your breath away. Being greeted by some cows was a fun way to start our stay, especially for the 6 year old. Then we entered the home. No possible words can describe the amount of head swiveling that happens! The road/driveway is not for the faint of heart and, luckily, we had insurance on the car due to constant driving through reeds. This is 100% a location that I will suggest to my network of people, and, also visit again. Jim was very responsive, as was Caroline. Thank you for the lovely, lovely stay!! We all loved the home and the views have to be the best in all Ireland! The day we arrived there was a huge double rainbow over the lake, like it was ordered right from the VRBO page. The beds were comfortable, the baths were very nice. We cooked several meals in the kitchen and had every possible utensil and pan we could have needed. I claimed Carrowkeel in the pre dawn and watched the sun rise from the cairns. We couldn't have had a better location for exploring the area. We really appreciated the home.

I booked the house to spend easter and my birthday with a group of 10 friends. The house was spacious great to play games, have big diners, dance! The view is incredible and the host very responsive and accommodating. Kitchen very well equipped - beds comfortable - bathroom brand new and spacious.

This was our second trip to Castlebaldwin, and we already can't wait to return. The view, the space and the proximity to beautiful County Sligo is unmatched. The house itself is incredibly well equipped - the kitchen has every tool you could ever ask for, making cooking at home easy. The house itself is spotless and well-looked after. Check-in and check-out couldn't be simpler. One note: If you're looking for a house in the city, or walking distance to pubs, this may not be for you. However, if you're looking for peace, quiet in a wonderful family home, you've found it.

If I ever win the lottery I'm buying this house. It is fantastic. The home is warm, cozy, and very spacious. There are 4 bedrooms and 3 baths, which is hard to find in a vacation rental in Europe. Spotless. The kitchen was modern, with all the appliances, dishes, and utensils that you can imagine. Loved our time there. Caroline was fantastic to work with and gave us really suggestions for shopping, church, pubs. My only suggestion would be to put out a couple of road markers once you turn off the main highway. We drove down a couple of gravel roads before finally finding the right one. Neighbor at the top of the hill helped us out.

An amazing location with spectacular views close enough to villages, towns and amenities. We have just spent a lovely week overlooking Lough Arrow and visiting local mountains, waterfalls and beaches. Thank you to Jim for excellent communication and for Caroline overseeing the housekeeping of our visit with friendliness and efficiency. We have family that live locally and will definitely be returning again if we get the chance. Thank you!!

My friends and I had a lovely stay here. The house is very spacious, the beds are comfortable and the kitchen is extremely well equipped for cooking for a big group. The views across the lake are fantastic, especially on a sunny day. Good communication with the host throughout our stay. Would definitely recommend.

An overall fabulous few days with breathtaking views. A complete break away in peaceful tranquil surroundings. Stock up on your essentials, travel around and enjoy the neighbouring locations such as Carraig on Shannon and Sligo city.

Fabulous property with stunning views. The property offered a very comfortable stay and was very well kitted out with everything one could possible need. A lovely peaceful location which is within short proximity to nearby towns, beaches and local beauty spots. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to explore the West of Ireland with family & friends.

Even with the current restrictions due to covid 19 we still found loads of activities to do without having to travel too far. The carrowkeel tombs are an enjoyable 30 to 40 min walk. Lough Key Forest park is a 15 min drive. Eagles Flying bird sanctuary 20 mins drive and the house is 30 to 40 mins from the sea.We would definitely recommend this house and would love to return ourselves in the future.

Truly great property and experience. It's large, extremely well-appointed and has fabulous views. The Manager lives directly behind the Property and is extremely responsive but not intrusive. It's a moderate (suitable for kids and adults) 20 minute hike up behind the house to get to the Carrowkeel tombs (5700 years old!) and amazing views. Sligo is only 20 minutes away, and the amazing Benbulbin, Yeats' Grave and Glencar Waterfall are only about 40 minutes away. We'll be back, for sure.

Property is as per the pictures, modern, warm, clean, open plan living space with very well kitted out modern kitchen. The only photograph that wasn't accurate is of the view outside, because the photo can't do it any justice, you have to see it for yourself, it's stunning.

We will never forget making our way to this beautiful home and setting. Stepping inside and looking out those windows into the panorama of the valley below, we almost decided to never leave the house. It is, however, a perfect place from which to explore parts of Western Ireland which are off the regular tourist trails; be prepared for breathtaking scenery and glorious people! Absolutely wonderful! Large interior spaces for conversation, relaxing, watching movies or reading; top notch kitchen and superlative views of Lough Arrow. We even enjoyed the adventurous road to the house! A lovely place to explore Ireland’s Megalithic History; County Sligo sites and beyond!

We loved staying at the house near Sligo Town. So many beds, a huge kitchen, and lots of amenities included. Netflix is on the TV. You'll need a car. It's about 15 minutes drive from a supermarket. Easy access to many local towns and beaches. The views and hiking around there are excellent. You'll love it too.

Wow! Amazing! Spectacular! I rarely write online reviews but I had to on this one. I have traveled to several countries in the past decade and have stayed at many other VRBO locations, and this was by far the BEST one ever. The house and the views were just out of this world. My brother, his wife, our cousin and I were just stunned when we drove up the hill to the house and equally amazed when we walked into the house. The house was very clean and ready for us and had so much space. The bedrooms were large. Two bedrooms had en-suite bathrooms (one walk-in shower didn't have a shower curtain, which was a problem with water getting into the bathroom; the other had a shower door). There was a very large bathroom with shower and a bathtub. The kitchen was big and awesome with the amazing views. The house also had good wifi and washer and a dryer (a bonus in Europe). The house caretaker even had bread, milk and butter awaiting our arrival. That was a very nice little touch. The only issue we had was getting to the house initially. We had used the VRBO app and clicked on directions and it took us to a completely different place. But the caretaker answered the phone immediately to help direct us to the house. We wished we could have stayed there longer than the three nights. It is a great house for a longer period of time, particularly since there is so much to see in the Sligo area.

My only regret is that I didn't book this property for longer. Just completed a 10 day trip to Ireland and this home, by far, was the best living experience. The view from the house alone is worth the trip up the road (which is not for the faint of heart!). The house was immaculate and the property manager was incredibly helpful. I would highly recommend this home and hope to return myself someday.

Super house in stunning surroundings!

We very much enjoyed our stay. The sites and views wherever you go are simply amazing. The house was just perfect. Having the red guide book helped to plan our days of adventure. The house has everything you would need or want to make your stay enjoyable.

Lovely house. Very comfortable. Caroline was fabulous. My husband got sick and she arranged for him to see the doctor immediately. She was extremely helpful. Our group had a lovely time and kept exclaiming about what a great house it is.

Wonderful week in a perfectly appointed and located home. Easy access to Sligo and Boyle/Carrick on Shannon. Wonderful for entertaining family who live in the area. The property is spacious yet cozy. The kitchen has every gadget and gizmo necessary to prepare a 5 star experience. Bedrooms are nicely appointed and beds are super comfortable. We WILL be back.

Home was comfortable but hard to find. View was beautiful as long as weather cooperated. Access was up a steep, unmarked narrow path. Owner was unable to provide satellite GPS coordinates. Departing instructions were a little tacky. After being charged a $100 cleaning fee for a three day stay, I did not appreciate being told to strip beds, run dishwasher and shut off heat, appliances and to sort and empty trash.

The view was incredible, the home comfortably appointed, the caretakers generous...what more can we ask for?!?!
