The room was gorgeous, with every amenity, and very clean. Wood floors, large shower, great views, comfy bed, AC was cold, water ready, and coffee making. WiFi worked great, hallelujah! Breakfast was delicious, amazing pastries. The rooms are above a patisserie so leave room to try the pastries - wow. They have service down to an art here.

A lovely small-scale B&B in the heart of Gent. The B&B is situated on a quiet side-street (pedestrians only) just off one of the main market squares. Great location for visiting Gent and everything is in very close proximity (tourist attractions, restaurants, shops..)

Everything! Very clean and comfortable room, nice bed, bathroom.

Location in centre of old town. A well equipped room with tasteful decor in good condition. An excellent shower. Heavy curtains provided an effective blackout and reduction of noise from neighbouring pedestrianised street. Pastries made by shop below were ‘to die for’!

Duvet too warm/heavy. Breakfast lacked cereal/fruit/yoghurt although obliging waitress would provide a small amount of fruit if asked.

Great location. The room was recently refurbished to very good standards and super clean. I would also highly recommend the breakfast. This is offered at the bakery right downstairs and it's very very tasty.

Soundproofing. Can get a bit noisy during the night by people or vehicles passing the street where the property is located.

Perfect location in the centre of Ghent. In shopping street but still very quiet. The rooms are located above the bakery, which served the very best breakfast with freshly baked bread! The staff was super friendly and helpful.

The mechanic ventilation made a lot of high-pitched noise in the bedroom, so I had to put towels around it to be able to sleep. Also the Bed was very nice, the matras was a bit worn out so we were "pushed" lift and right into our bed.

We truly enjoyed the comfortable bed, the excellent location, the large shower, and attentive staff. Very clean. We were up a few flights of stairs, and the staircase and rooms are simply elegantly appointed. I am so glad I found this for our stay.

This is above the world famous baked goods, so the smell will torture you into buying more than you can consume each day. Haha

The location was absolutely perfect. Close to metro lines and all the best sights in Ghent. There were plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants, and beautiful spots within walking distance. We had an excellent view from our room which included a view of some of the fabulous architecture. The B&B is over a bakery, which is also run by the B&B owner, and it has very tasty coffee, tea and pastries. The room was very comfortable, the TV was large, and the aircon was easy to use and very quiet. Housekeeping did a great job of sprucing up the room every day. The staff was very prompt with answering questions. Whenever we go back to Ghent, we will surely choose Merveilleux again!

I thought our booking included breakfast, but when we went down for breakfast the first morning the owner said our room did not include it. I am not sure if this was an error in the Booking.com listing, but it was a disappointment since we had consciously chosen places to stay that said "breakfast included". We didn't make a fuss about it and just found places to grab breakfast in the area, but it did create an extra unexpected expense which was a bit of a bummer. Stairs are not a big deal for me and I don't mind them at all, but be aware that there is no elevator in case stairs are an issue.

Staff was extremely kind and welcoming. Delicious breakfast and comfortable room.

Being the hotel situated in the city center, and being Ghent a university city, during the night you might hear groups of students shouting and partying in the street.

Very nice and beautiful Rooms, furnished in a nice style. Big Bathroom as well all is clean enough. Breakfast is ok. the B&B Merveilleux is part of the Patisserie in which you have Breakfast.

At night it might get a little noisy by people coming from the historic center to go home. They pass the street in front of the B&B therefore it might get a little loud occasionally. Because you have breakfast in their Patisserie as well, you have Breakfast with other clientele, not being Guests. Which makes it very possible that you have to wait for a table to enjoy Breakfast. No worries though, I bet if you inform staff the night before they will reserve a table for you.
