The property was perfect and ideally situated for frequent visits to Rouene and other beautiful locations in the area. Our host Janine was charming and very accommodating. Overall we had a very pleasant stay. We will definitely return there when next visiting Rouene

Janine Auvray was the perfect host. Une tres gentille dame. The accommodations were very comfortable and I enjoyed sleeping late. It was much nicer to stay near Rouen but not in Rouen. Darnetal est une petite ville pres de Rouen. Since there werent many restaurants I bought un biftek from Le Boulanger and une baguette and des tomates et from age down the street and made a delicious dinner one evening. Enjoyed dinner in Rouen one day. Would definitely recommend for one or two people.

Jane is a wonderful person and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The pictures don't do the place justice as it is nicer than we had imagined from the pictures. Our stay was too short but this is a good location to explore the Rouen area.

“Chez Simone” is a beautifully-presented 'maison à pan de bois' situated behind high steel gates in the tranquil commune of Darnétal. The area is safe and provides the perfect base from which to explore all five Départements of Normandy. The A13 and A28 are accessible within minutes and the centre of Rouen is a mere 15 minutes away by local bus. The property is beautifully-presented and fully equipped, with parking just next to the high steel gates. Janine, the owner, lives next door and really makes you feel at home. For a secure, tranquil and comfortable stay in Normandy, this is surely the ideal accommodation.

Janine's home is in Donetal about 10 minutes by car from the center of Rouen. A nice rental although the double bed is not real accommodating. All else was quite nice and Janine is very sweet. Her English is a tad bit better than my French which is close to bill. A good value and Rouen and the Normandy region is a must see

We spent two days at Janines appartment on our way to the Loire. It was perfect for us with a well equipped appartment, secure parking and beautifully kept garden to relax in the late afternoon. We had our two year old son and although the appartment is one bedroom it was big enough for our travel cot. The french blinds made the room very dark so the little one went to sleep very well. The appartment is a short drive fron Rouen but you can get a bus from tge main street in Darnetal. It was very easy and took about 10 mins. Rouen is great place with lovely streets. Highly recommend this place for a stopover for one or two days. Adam, Vic and Elijah.

I had a wonderful stay at Janine's property, coming alone to have a relaxing weekend that would also allow me to work on my novel. The house is impeccable- clean, comfortable, all the furnishings brand new, and exactly as advertised in the photos on the website. There is a kitchen with everything you would need to cook and shops where you can buy groceries are only a five-minute walk away.There is a charming church just outside the house and a small garden which you could use in summer. I came alone, to have a sort of self-imposed writing retreat, but the house could also be used for a very nice holiday for a couple- especially if you can rent a car as Deauville and other interesting sites can be easily accessed by car. Rouen is a short drive away and Janine very kindly took me around to visit one afternoon- the town is very charming (small streets, stunning churches, cosy teahouses, interesting architecture...). Last but not least, Janine is a wonderful hostess and fantastic company and I'm glad to have met her. We had a great time chatting, talking about painting and life in Rouen and I was touched by her generosity and kindness. An ideal stay, especially for artists of all kinds. I highly recommend this property!

We stayed for two nights at the home of Janine Auvray, a set of three rooms in a wing behind her house . the accomodation was absolutely wonderful,spotless ,well appointed, private and peaceful. Parking next to the building, great security and a wonderful host ( janine) who goes out of her way to make your stay great. We would recommend janines accomodation to anyone traveling to Rouen and hope to return.

Chez Simone exceeded our expectations, and was perfect for us two tired, jet-lagged women just arriving in France. The proprietor, Janine made us feel like we were staying at a friend's house, a perfect rose from her garden was on the table and a cake was in the oven to greet us. The short bus ride into the city was easy, shops were nearby for all our food needs. We had breakfast and dinner at our new 'home,' and enjoyed lunch in the restaurants in the old city. It was lovely.

We spent a wonderful five nights in this charming apartment. Everything we needed from sheets to tea pots to a washing machine was clean and available. The location is a quiet neighborhood just outside Rouen and close to all the shops and supermarket. Our host, Janine was a wonderful and hospitable person and provided us with good advice on how to get around town and was always available when we needed any assistance. My wife and I would definitely stay there again. Highest praises!
