The location, staff, UK TV channels (BBC One and Two), coffee machine, mini fridge, cleanliness.

Church bells ringing from 06.00 each morning nearby (earplugs were provided), room heating (too cold), lack of shower door which resulted in water all over the floor every time we used it, no iron/ironing board, only a five hangers provided, floor was cold (no carpet).

room was nice and bright with big windows all around and as in the photo. i liked that it had a balcony, although it was not exactly a private one as it was open to all the rooms too. the location was in the center and easy to just go down and walk around.

We were driving around and had difficulty to figure out how to access the entrance of the hotel.

Spacious rooms with balcony. Clean and modern. Friendly staff and great central location.

bathroom: very uncomfortable shower without the door, so all the floor was flooded. one part of the shower was broken, so I couldn’t wash my head properly.

The hotel is beautiful. Very special architecture and there are green plants everywhere. Really atmospheric and well done. Nice lobby bar with comfortable seats. The rooms were a family room with double and bunk bed and a suite. Family room was great. Lots of space. Internet is fast. The suite is amazing. Great view, comfortable bed and a massive bath tub. The bathroom had a whole wall of green plants and a double shower. All very good. The staff was mostly very friendly and helpful. Location is a short walk from train station and edge of city centre. Plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. Japanese restaurant in hotel is fantastic.

The beds could be firmer, but that's a personal preference. The breakfast was very limited. Unlike most hotels in Netherlands there was very little choice in food or drinks. Water or orange juice only. The lady working at breakfast one day had zero interest in doing anything to make breakfast a good experience. The coffee machine was not working and she made no effort to fix it. (it needed a button pushed and some milk added). Food was very slow to appear.

We really liked the location, it was very convenient for us in Hilversum. Beds are excellent, the Nespresso machine in the room was a plus for me, as well as the deco, very cool. We had a 3 single bed room, and it was large and comfortable in size. Independent air conditioning worked perfect in summer. You can walk to the Train Station, there are lots of restaurants and bars nearby, even shopping stores, and even a nice supermarket 3 minutes away.

This is a very special hotel. Full of contrasts. It's a historic building from the 1930s, so it's quite interesting as a piece of Modern Architecture, but that collides a little with some confort standards of present day hotel world. For example, the most annoying thing for me is that the room floor (in my room at least) is made of suspended wooding panel, covered in rubber. Unfortunately, you can hear all the neighbouring guest walking late at night, and even children running early in the morning. Bathroom is super cool in the photos, but when ou shower you end up with all the floor wet. After 2 daughters tkaing a bath, the place was a mess. A glass door will keep things tidy there. Room key is an old style metal key, which you have to leave everythime at front desk, and when you arrive late at night, there might be a delay in getting any person at the hotel to give you your key. Parking is not in the building itself, but in a nearby parking facility, so picking up the card at the hotel front desk everytime was a little annoying, because front desk dynamic is not the best.

Fantastic bauhaus hotel with vintage charm. We booked the suite and enjoyed the huge bathtub.

The green wall in the bathroom might benefit from some tlc.
