The Phoneica hotel is beautifully designed. It has a wonderful aroma and atmosphere when we walked in. The rooms were lovely and we were given a peronalised welcome note and treats, which was lovely. The hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff were friendly and helpful, they provided immediate assistance to our enquiries. It is located closely to many local amenities. We enjoyed our stay and we will definitely be booking The Phoenicia Hotel again on our next visit to Bucharest. We recommend booking this hotel.
The sauna was being renovated during our stay. There was no notification of this prior, however during the trip we did not have time to use it anyway, as we were busy sightseeing and visiting the city. It will be completed soon in 2 months before we plan to return. The other gym facilities are available and the hotel has a variety of great gym equipment to use, which was better than most.
I have nothing negative to say. The hotel and experience was great!

Great location and great breakfast buffet
AC was not working properly for a hot humid day/ night. And the hair behind the bathroom door was unpleasant to see honestly.

Breakfast is good, but there has been big changes since the last time I've been. It's not the same quality and diversity anymore.

I’m staying in this hotel during my business trips to Bucharest, mostly because of its nice breakfasts and really comfy beds. Location is also important, close to the airport and Baneasa (in case you’d like to do some shopping). Fancy furniture design at the lobby and rooms.
This time guys started repair works at 8 am right close to my room and I heard hammers knocks and drilling till 12:00, trying to make some conf calls.
Overall, bathrooms and some rooms need to be refurbished, as on photos they are perfect, however in real life it’s not so good, unfortunately.

The breakfast is big with much variety
The bathroom is dated, and the ventilation smells. There are no controls for the heating, and it was too hot in winter. they could not find my booking.com number or any record of the booking until I dug out all emails. Their reception system needs some serous rethinking

-We booked 2 rooms ( 2 months in advanced) and we appear only with 1 room. We had to wait for the booking department to agree with the reception.The customers don't need the mismatches between hotel departments
-The heat in the room on the 7th floor had to be repaired every day and in the morning was cold in the room.
- In the bathroom there was a smell of sewage
- When the heating was repaired and the radiator guard was removed there was a lot of dirty/dust in that space
- The carpet on the floor it was stained and old
- A room prepared for 2 persons we received only one pair of slippers shoes
- Overall a room is outdate and immediate need of refurbishment
