Nice big room very clean and tidy.

TV on wall a bit small. But it looked like there was a bigger TV at one time.

the standard of the rooms is poor - patched walls and crack in sink. There was only milk sachets and no tea coffee or sugar, see picture

the stay was good. we did not have breakfast so can't rate that,but the evening meal in the bar was excellent and very good value for the money as was the beer!

an odd thing happened,there was a knock on our door at 9pm we opened it and it was the manager,he was polite and asked us if we had turned down the room thermostat which we had as the room was to hot. he asked if he could turn it up again because there had been a compliant from the next door guests that there radiator was cold.it turns out that our room thermosat also controls the next rooms heat?very strange.

Very clean and comfortable dining area where the food and drinks were affordably priced and good value.. Room was very clean and cosy with a comfortable double bed.

The temperature of the room was incredibly high in Room 14 and the radiators had no way of adjustment. For me to barely be able to touch either in the room gives you an idea of how hot they were. This led to a very restless, sweaty and uncomfortable nights sleep. It was reported to the DM in the morning at breakfast with even he and the Housekeeping girls saying that the radiators had been reported previously to senior management and that the room shouldn't have been used as they need to be fixed!! Perhaps management should have listened. With this in mind I will have to say that the room didn't meet my expectations although everything else in it was perfectly acceptable.

Staff were very friendly and helpful and tried to deal with the issues I had.

No hot water in the evening and a horrendous noise from the cellar fans which went on until past midnight and started again at 7am. The staff did try to resolve it but were unable to turn them off for safety reasons.

Food (dinner & breakfast) were both adequate albeit the latter not served on time - dining room was late opening on the first morning.

Room & Hotel are in need of an update - this is our 3rd rime staying there but nothing changes. My wife and I use this Hotel when visiting Family who live close by but we will have to consider elsewhere in future.

The bar had a nice chilled vibe, decent menu and pleasant staff

The room was appalling, the worst I have seen in a very long time. The leather headboard was cracked and peeled, the walls in the room are heavily marked and decor etc just none existent. The corridors on the way to the room set the scene and your heart starts to sink immediately. I was rate the room 1 - 2 star at best.

The location and food excellent.

The room was awful. Room 1 is a twin at the end of the building. The extraction fan for the kitchen must be attached to the outside wall. The noise from it was terrible. When I checked in at 4pm I mentioned it to the receptionist she said don't worry it goes off at 9 tonight. Oh no it didn't. I had them up to my room twice in the night 2am and 2.20am. They said they couldn't find what the noise was but agreed it was loud. Eventually at 2.30 it stopped. They offered no compensation not even an apology 😒. Not what I expected at all. I certainly won't be back. And I'm telling everyone to avoid this place.

Nice friendly staff , very close to the crematorium we were going to a funeral . Nice and quiet . The bar prices were not expensive for drinks and food

The corridor to the rooms was very long with a few short sets of stairs on the way so a bit tough for a dodgy knee carrying bags , but I feel sure there would have been help if we asked .

The bar facilities was good.

The room wasn't great. Could do with decorating. dirty in places. Things fell.off the wall. Cobwebs on the ceiling. Some sort of stains on the walls..The staff in my opinion was very mardy and kept getting my drinks order wrong. When questioned the man never said sorry just shrugged his shoulders like he wasn't bothered. Won't be staying there again.
