Bed was not that comfy :/

We just needed a place to rest a night on our way from the Netherlands to Italy. This cosy hotel was a much better choice than staying at a large hotel. The family room is spacious, nicely furnished and comfortable. Amazing view from the roof window and from the restaurant. Both dinner and breakfast were fresh and abundant.

Super friendly people, very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was really good and cost for it was more than affordable, making it the best breakfast for value I've ever had.

Lovely hotel, beautiful room great view from the balcony...a good stop over very near the Swiss boarder...we didn't manage to sample the restaurant as we stayed on a Monday evening and it was closed..we met Kim when we arrived and another lady the following morning...very friendly people. Would definitely stay there again hopefully not on a Monday or Tuesday as the restaurant is closed.

The room was huge with an incredible view from the balcony of the local vineyards. The hotel manages to combine a traditional exterior with bedroom modern decor. We enjoyed a drink (try the local wines!) on the panoramic terrace before heading out to explore the area. A local resident told us about the "Sammeltaxi" - a brilliant scheme where you call the number at the bus stop (50m from the hotel) and they give you a pick up time to take you into the city of Lörrach itself for the same price as the bus; we paid 5 Euros 40 return, dogs and all! The driver booked our return for us and recommended a great place to eat in the city centre. In true German tradition the breakfast, also served on the panoramic terrace, was amazing, with a variety of different bread rolls, jams, cheeses, coffee/tea, juice, yoghurts, cereals, fresh fruit and eggs cooked fresh on request, setting us up for the next leg of our journey.

Unfortunately, as vegetarians we found the options the dinner menu rather limited and very expensive, but there was nowhere else open in the village until the 26th. However, you'll see from the "What we did like" section that this didn't prove to be an issue!

The view from the room with balcony is beautiful. The breakfast is simple but more than enough and for a very good price. It’s not far from the motorway in a nice environment. The balcony room was nice and quiet.

The beds were a bit hard. The room without balcony was above the restaurant, which could be noisy. The beds are quite hard. The staff didn’t seem very anxious to welcome us. The food in the restaurant was very expensive and not worth it at all. Not tasty, not satisfying, no veggies or so without mentioning it only being 2 boring not seasoned schnitzels for instance.
