How the heating is never working. My room wasn’t cleaned. when I questioned this with reception, it felt like they didn’t care. I just got a reply, that my notice must have fallen off my door handle.

Everything else could have been better. The reception staff were slow and not particularly helpful. At one point there was even a customer shouting at a cleaner because there was nobody on reception, it was mental. The room we originally got (bearing in mind we booked a family room and stated we had an infant) was on the first floor with no lift access. We then got moved onto the ground floor in what was supposed to be a non smoking room that reeked of stale smoke. Seriously, this can't have been missed by staff unless they know what goes on and don't care. The hallways stank of dog and there were dogs everywhere. I get that it's a pet friendly hotel, but so are many others and I've never seen that many dogs just wandering around. Seriously! Was there a dog show nearby that weekend? For the price of the room we were digusted, so much so that we cancelled our reservation for the journey back in 2 days time and booked in at the travelodge up the road which is much more basic but cleaner, nicer rooms with staff that are friendly and helpful!
